  1. dang...maybe I should peel off another 10 yards, just in case. great info @Big Hands
  2. this worked!! I popped a tire off my kayak wheels and the axle was perfectly sized.
  3. here, I am organizing gear. I snapped a pic of my $3 GoPro mod that allows me to take selfies of me and my fish.
  4. Spent half hour casting it to my neighbors distant basketball hoop. This is a distance champion. Very little effort sends the plug flying. I’m kinda shell-shocked at how it is so effortless. Accuracy on my rod choice (FMJ) is perfect. 14lb Sniper is the line. I’m planning on probing the depths with a big worm and a jig this Saturday at Clearlake! Being a rookie I put just the tiniest too much line in it to rub the back crossbar. Duh! Line doesn’t grow on trees Darth!
  5. here, 7-10 feet in the grass. lipless, jigs and creature baits dragged on the bottom.
  6. me too. trout fishing the Sierras, it was way beneficial to use Flouro. big time numbers difference using Flouro.
  7. no luck. i did however watch my friend kill it with a Tokyo rig punched into light mats.
  8. i'm with WRB. if the ecosystem is healthy, all fish benefit. makes the most sense for me.
  9. i honestly cannot tell with certainty what a fish can or cannot see.
  10. Ahh okay. I think you should buy the boat.
  11. Nice fish. Kinda skinny. 5lb. buy a scale Maybe don’t and say it’s a 7.
  12. Happiness has never come from material goods for me, no matter how I tried. Experiences yes. A boat experience is difficult to argue. do it if you think it’s right. A bunch of total strangers can’t help.
  13. Code red! Code red. I have a new Destroyer FMJ and topped it w a JDM 22-Bantam. too hot and tired to buy line for it. Tomorrow
  14. You are not wrong.
  15. Took some searching. I can’t find the half bug in my wife’s mouth pics. But here . The wasp larvae was too much. Awful.
  16. my brain is hardwired for Spanish. Portuguese is messing with me. haha
  17. Bream beds look like the dimples of a golf ball. or the surface of the moon. they litter the area. that was the one time i had water clear enough to see them.
  18. i was thinking about this discussion. on all of our steel bridges, we silicon seal all the seams to prevent water from entering (best we can). we dont want water where pieces can vibrate and move against each other. just a thought.
  19. that alum tube is supposed to fit in that gapped fitting? wow. and awesome on the tube..i want one, but i just cant justify it for the one lake i need it on.
  20. i dont think anyone disagrees with you. most road rule are followed by, "or as allowed by current conditions" just because the speed limit is 70mph, i have seen cars pulled over at that speed in inclement weather.
  21. interesting!! thanks everyone!! thanks for fielding some of my rookie and mundane questions. i'll take it from here.
  22. Wind. it is always the wind. i wont go out if it is 10mph plus with gust. nope. just not fun in a kayak. and lightning. all those carbon rods just look like targets to a lighting boat out on a lake. no wind, no lightning.
  23. i remember one drought year, i was complaining on a forum very much like this one. except that one had a bunch of Dick members. some guy chimes in with something like, "well if you're an idiot and decide to buy a house in an area that is a desert, you deserve it" (i paraphrased);. i dont argue on forums so i didnt. but i did note that he lived in Hurricane rich area. Florida. that season his house got hammered and he got on the same forum complaining EXACTLY how i was complaining about the drought. i took the high road. but it was tempting. best of luck to everyone, whereever they live. be it killer bees or tornados...life can be tough, nature isnt all that cool, all the time.
