"ready" is relative. my phone alone is buried in myPFD, and my selfies i use a GoPro. and i have to set that up. i dont fish tourneys, and if i did...i would hone my craft. but i dont, and i havent. it is all for fun a this point, so the Donkey Leash is really for the fish's benefit. not mine.

Sorry Skunk. I’m tired. My loyalties are w my neighbor. Not her entire entourage. or her family. They don’t even visit her! Annoyed me they call me for updates. One retired lady told me she was too busy. Haha.

Haha. I’m caring for her home and cat now. im not ready for everyone in her social club to call me. I’ll give them your number. Plus as a non family member, docs and nurses don’t tell me squat. mi sit with her at the hospital everyday and the staff tells me nothing. Not even when they plan in discharging her. her social club won’t visit her. They just want to call me They did kick in and have flowers delivered.

Yea. I’ve fished in biblical rain. No issues. and w paddling. Smooth is fast, fast is smooth. My friend is old school and he’s fast with paddles. He barely makes a mess.

Jinxed myself. Hit a flat in the old truck creeping up the keep trail. Had to unload my kayak and gear to change tie in complete darkness. Forgot I moved all my EDC stuff to new truck. DUH! Did not want to take a\chance at another flat so I cane home. Oh well.

I don’t fish a lot of elastics. I haven’t in months.

I’ll side skin hook only if the middle of the bait is too torn ragged to hold the barb. Eventually the bait will come off and I get a mild overrun on the reel. It’s like playing chicken looking for that last successful cast.

I’m anal enough to walk my spool empty on a high school football field purely out of curiosity. Super curious how much line you have spooled up.

@scaleface have you looked at the Owner Haymaker hook? It’s an EWG, but it’s kinda special. The hook point doesn’t point in the direction of the hookeye. It points outwards. It hooks fish awesomely. The downside is that the hookpoint sometimes creeps out of the bait, and the rig will bring in grass or snag. it doesn’t solve my issue of the bait slipping down the shank. Some manufacturer, should roughen the shaft at that location. I wish I had patent money. Hehe. I hope Owner steals my idea.

when i fish urban ponds...i lean towards topwaters. i hate hooking shopping carts and boots.

my friend gave me one Decoy straight shank flipping hook. it was awesome. the bait keeper tab was GREAT. it doenst do a lot of damage to the plastic when it is going thru the bait. i almost cried when i broke off eventually. i was nursing that hook for a while. keeping it sharp. the 3/0 size which was perfect for a 5" Senko is always out of stock.

well, if you live in Rio Vista.... hahahha..to be honest, both options have been very sucky for me. might be me, might be the big winter rains.. probably me.

i kayak. i want lights. i think i will get the Guardian Angels. they are rechargable and apparently last a long time. waterproof. i have a friend that bought the green light and uses it for nightime crappie fishing..and white bass. i think he floats it underwater! i think. they make them for all applications. check them out. no wiring.

I’m 100% straight shank this year. Except the Owner Haymaker for weightless. im using the ReBarb and Owner Covershot. They are similar but I think the ReBarb is just a touch thinner wired. I made the switch because I wanted to see if plastic baits stayed up against the hookeye better/longer. It does.
