Pet Peeves
My foot issues have done the same for me. One lake we fish has a handicap spot right by the launch. If it is occupied we go else where, because the main parking area is 100yards away up a hill. I simply can't physically walk that far. One day there was a lady sitting in a lounge chair in the spot. She said her husband was out on the lake trying out a boat, and that she was waiting for him there because it was in the shade. She refused to move. We left , but it really bugged me.

MK Ulterra lubrication points?
I forget to define from MK as to exactly what type of grease to use, however I was at my boat dealer this A.M. and asked the service manager ( they sell MK ) and he said the problems they are running into with using grease are if the grease runs ( from the heat ) it could stain, and thicker grease attracts dirt and things ( not good ). He said they recommend a shot of silicone spray, just not too much, and don't let over spray get everywhere.

Bass feeding habits
This is just my opinion and my experience, so based on that, these are my thoughts. I have seen times when bass will take just about anything you put in front of it, and times when they will ignore 99% of the things you cast to them, yet go crazy to bite one bait. I have no Idea why. We fish in clear water so I can honestly say I have seen this happen. I once spent almost an hour site fishing to a bass cruising a shallow cove. I thru everything at it. It would look at it and swim away. Finally it took a bubble gum colored Senko. This was after I tossed four other Senkos of different colors at it. I have no idea why. I also once saw a fish inhale a cigarette butt. Go figure.

Transducer on TM using I-pilot
I have a Garmin echomap chirp CV on the bow with the transducer on my Ulterra. Honestly I get a decent image when on I Pilot, Spot lock, but I don't trust it 100%. With the head swiveling around like crazy your sonar signals have to be going every which way. I do love it for depth. When my shallow alarm goes off I know to trim up pronto. If you were on I pilot ( legacy ) in a steady breeze, with the TM more stable, it works fine. I kept my sonar with side scan on the console for just that reason.

Choosing a boat type?
Second on a Lund. Wife and I are both disabled ( not too good on our feet ) and we feel entirely safe and comfortable in our Lund.

Getting Old
When you are young you think you have the world by the tail. Middle age you still thing you have the world by the tail, but you feel it fighting back a bit. One day you wake up and realize that for the most part, you're just along for the ride. My health issues have forced me into early retirement, and to keep fishing we had to get a more comfortable boat. I can still have fun fishing all day but I am sitting down for most of it.

Reaction To On The Water Rudeness
As said above, we also don't fish on holiday weekends, or most weekends. However, as in most things in life, you cannot help but sometimes run into less than courteous and respectful people. The best we can do is not let it ruin our day. Life is to short.

Pet Peeves
My wife and I are both disabled, nothing ticks me off more than healthy people taking up the handicap spots.

Pet Peeves
All of the above are good. My latest peeve is watching all the videos of the newest, greatest baits. I see them gliding thru weeds, brush, bouncing over rocks, logs, never getting caught, hung up, or covered in weeds. I'd love to see them try it on the places I fish. Another one of mine is ramp hogs. They sit on the ramp setting up their boat, making everyone wait. These are the same kind of people that park in the handicap spots when their not handicapped.

Female bass anglers?
My wife and I are a team on the water. I never go with out her and she often out fishes me.

Hot Dogs?
They actually make a hot dog hook. If you get any it's worth spending a little more and get the ones with the built in bun keeper?

Re-powering the Lund 1875 Pro-V Bass Boat
A-Jay, that almost looks darn right evil. In my mind I've already started calling it " DARTH MOTOR ".

Real proud of our grand daughter!
Thanks for the kind thoughts everyone. Wish I could say the smarts came from my side of the family, but that would be stretching it a bit. I'd also love to take my grand kids fishing but right now most of them are half a country away. Thanks again Jim

Bad year for ticks
I'm sure a lot of you already know, but for those that don't, around here ( southern Maine ) is full of ticks. I spray myself when ever I'm out around the yard, or tromping thru the woods, but I just walked out to the car ( never left the pavement ) and had two ticks on me. It's a bad year for them. Be careful.

Black Crappie X 2
Was out fishing for bass today. Cast into a spot and caught a black crappie. this was the second one I have ever caught ( Don't fish for them). Any why, from what I have heard it was pretty decent. 1 lb. 5 oz. 14 inches long ( I put him back ). Right after that I got hailed by a fellow fisherman whose motor quit. Ended up towing him back to the ramp. Came back to the same spot and darned if I didn't catch it again. Same weight, size, with a fresh hook spot on it's mouth. Put it back again. You'd think it would have learned the first time. I used the same bait to catch it both times. Here's a pic from both times.

MK Ulterra lubrication points?
Good question, From what they said the right side plate is on the right standing behind the motor looking towards the front. I was told the gear is in plain view, can't miss it.

Real proud of our grand daughter!
We're proud of all our grand kids ( we have 12 ) but our oldest grand daughter took to schooling like we've never seen. Ate up any knowledge put in front of her. We found out today she ace'd her college entrance exams and has been accepted at a university. Here's the kicker, she's fourteen. Jim

Got a new sun hat
I'll let you in on a secret. If you look at the pic of me real close you'll notice my pinky finger isn't quite rite. Had an accident many years ago. Sliced thru the tendons on my left hand. They re spliced them but the last two fingers didn't quite take, so not that much strength in my left hand. And of course I'm left handed. Last time I tried to long- arm a bass I dropped the poor thing.
