I got to fish a little bit this morning, first thing I hit a nest of dinks. I mean, I was pulling them out left and right. I did manage to get 1 ok fish. Then I went home to do yard work. I started by weedeating off one of my wife's nicely trellised plants off about 6 inches from the ground. Then I proceeded to trim the bushes and also about 2ft of a fairly new garden hose that my wife just hung up( strike2 for the wife's stuff) I then wanted to water the really nice lawn I'm starting to get, so I turned on the irrigation system and Shazam...I got a leak... A big leak! I shut it down and went to look for the source...found it! I drove a spike through the line when I was installing a big beautiful trellis for...you guessed it... My wife. So I go to turn the irrigation water supply off a when I pull the cosmetic cover... SNAKE! Right on the valve. Thought it was a copperhead at first but after closer examination...corn snake. Hope y'all had a nice day? thanks for letting me vent!

Haha. I grew up drinking "Genastos" I used to stop every day after work and pickup a 12 pack, throw it on the tank of my Harley and ride to the Niagara river and drink with friends. I especially like that Christmas treat... Bock beer.

I love the Winn grips on my Veritas, but cork seems to be my go to when I replace rods. I have one foam grip on a Bionic Blade that I like, but I think its more the shape of the handle that makes it comfortable.

I use the O-ring tool...works great and even the cheap Yum Dinger worms last a long time!

I use pond fishing as exercise. I walk a lot in the course of fishing 4-5 days a week. I also like to stand in the boat as I have a hard time casting and getting a good hook set sitting down. I do have a seat on the bow, I use it when taking a break or tying on.

Went back today... Female is gone...big bluegills swarming all over... Fry maybe? Did hit this one on another bed with a magnum worm rigged Texas style. Lost 2 heavy fish due to operator error ? Nice fish! Great story! Congrats

Great fishing today! First time I saw females and males both on beds! Caught the fish in the picture casting a jerkbait onto his bed, he crushed it as soon as it hit the water. Lost 3 nice fish in the 3 to 4 lb range. Was trying to catch a big female off her bed, she wouldn't bite anything. Nor would the male. I tried jerkbait, swimbait,texas rig and even dinged her in the head with a jig! She would swim in circles around the bed then come back to sit. I would estimate her to be in the 7 to 8lb range. The male was a large beat up fish. I'll try again tomorrow!

Like others have said, line tight... Always. One of the most common problems is dull or crappy hooks. Check em for issues often. That being said... You're gonna lose some fish.

This was my second days haul from the Ollie's fishing blowout! First day I only bought about half as much stuff. I cleaned out the Lucky Craft and put a hurting on the Berkley.
