New Grips Rod Companies Using
I wouldnt buy the St Croix Rods because of those ugly grips even if the rod was sweet.

Shimano Expride EX610MB
I have been building rods for over 10 year. The last 2 years I have been trying to find a blank that would be the ultimate jerkbait rod and I have come close but nothing compares to the Shimano Expride EX610MB. Its the third factory rod I have bought in the last 5 years. It sure is sweet especially paired with a Metanium 100 HG. Also bought a Zodias ZDC70MHA from Sportsman Guide for the $109.99. Its a nice rod but doesnt impress me like these Exprides do. Ill have to buy 2 more of them at some point.

New Grips Rod Companies Using
I know its stupid but I wouldnt buy them because they look like crap...No matter how sweet the rod is. With that being said I like the Expride grips. You could work with a rod builder and get all of those regripped with full cork. Ill be honest...I still favor split grips but now really only like cork, winn, and maybe some eva.

New Grips Rod Companies Using
I thought Fenwick was doing it too but St Croix is the only one I can find. I hate how it looks.

New Grips Rod Companies Using
Im the only one that hates these angled end grips that some of these rod companies are using? Specifically St Croix Phyzyx, & St Croix Mojo Bass Trigon,

Suggested length of FC to create the drop-shot rig components?
I typically have about 6 ft of fluro leader on my spinning/braid rig. However in an effort to keep it that length at all times since i also use this rod for shaky heads and wacky rigs, I pre-tie my drop shot rigs using a tiny spro swivel and +-24 inches of 10 lb fluro. I need to play around of doing this without a swivel to see if I get more bites but it didint seem to affect me that much this summer.

drop shot beginner
I have had a lot of luck this last 45 days vertically dropping the drop shot. I have had way more success doing this than casting out and bouncing back. I have had the most luck with a Roboworm 4.5 straight fat worm in Prism Shad, Keitech Impact Shad in Electric Shad or TW Pro Blue, and Cast Fishing Co Echo in Blue Herring Back. I fish in a kayak and the crazy thing is I have gotten almost half my bites when I set my drop shot down in the kayak and pick up the crankbait rod. I small waves of the lake creates a better presentation than I can. As for hook I have settled on two. One is the Gamakatsu 1/0 drop shot hook and the second is #1 EWG Gamakatsu hook. Both have proven to keep fish buckled in the best with a good hook set. I had a lot of fish came unbuckled the first day and went through a plethora of hooks only to come back to these two.

The Mach jacked
It appears to be discontinued. Cant find it at digitaka or even Sunline's website. I wanted some more 11 lb.

"Staple" Colors You Have No Faith In
Oh and anything chartreuse is becoming that way. Almost like the bass have seen the color so much that they know not to touch it.

"Staple" Colors You Have No Faith In
Red crankbaits for sure... Over the years probably have $100 spent on red baits and can only remember 2 fish I caught on them.

Split ring vs snaps
Out of curiosity why not snaps on cranks?

Cranking success
In addition on this underwater railroad track I have been fish I have caught +- 50 fish the month of July. One was caught on a carolina rig, three were caught vertically jigging a damiki vault, +- 20 were caught on dropshots, and the rest were caught on crankbaits. I havent gotten a bite on a jig, a texas rig, a ned rig, nor a neko/wacky rig. To me this tells me they are foraging on shad/bait fish. My point is that the area you are fishing may not be a place where their primary forage is bait fish.

Cranking success
Try a bluegill pattern. If that doesn’t work might just not be the pattern for Couple more from yesterday Dt16 and a SK 6XD Try a bluegill pattern. If that doesn’t work might just not be the pattern for…started a reply here What im saying is a crankbait may not be a good pattern for that location. I would think a bluegill pattern would work best but maybe not. I tend to do better with crankbaits when it is banging into something like rock, hard ground, stumps, and laydowns. There are places on Shearon Harris where crankbaits/squarebills dont work but wacky rigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, and texas rigs/jigs do.

How many rods and Whats on them?
Wow. At times six drive me insane. Are you in a Hobie Pro Angler with tons of room and storage?

Berkley Dredger 17.5/20.5/25.5 success?
I also think their color patterns are so far from realistic. I do like their size though and I think the translucent ones should catch fish even with the loud rattle.

Berkley Dredger 17.5/20.5/25.5 success?
I dont know if its their colors or the loud rattle but i just cant get on a good bite with them. I love the sizes of the 14.5-20.5 but right now i cant justify buying anymore.

Berkley Dredger 17.5/20.5/25.5 success?
Anyone had consistent success with these? I have caught a few fish over the last couple years but not consistent like my Rapala Dts.
