I thought the members challenge was such a great idea, that I am taking it one step further. What I have decided to do is research one of you guys every day. I read your posts, baits and styles you like, colors you like, areas you like to fish etc etc. Then I spend some time each day fishing your style of fishing. This pushes me to get to trying more than the standard fair of plastics I generally throw, and at the same time builds confidence in new areas and techniques. My first fisherman was AVID. I read he likes white spinner baits, and gold lipless. I dont fish these as often as I should. Here are the results: What I will do is from now on, when fishing like this I will title my posts.......fishing like lbh for example, or fishing like muddy etc etc. I will keep you guys posted on the results. well...im hungry as hell....but I am saving a ton of money on toilet paper!

I have a group of about 35-40 birds that come to the back pasture every morning. They are an easy shot from my back deck, but that will never happen. I used to be an avid hunter, now I am happy to put holes in paper. Turkeys arent the only thing around here, bears in the trash are very very common..... Best of luck and many wishes of safety to all the guys here who hunt, I have nothing at all against it, I just dont wish to make anything dead anymore....except some specks and gills LOL!!!

Undoubtedly this is a great site, I do not *** the mods here, they walk a tight rope. I love a good intelligent conversation, however, that often leads to problems, and those problems tend to drag things down a bit. The keyword here is intelligent, unfortunatly as senile said some knuklehead will mistake an intelligent opinion by someone as being stupid, simply because it isnt there opinion, then the poop flies, and it gets out of control. My own personal belief is that comes from a lack of one single word. RESPECT. It isnt always easy to respect someones view....when they differ from our own. Especially if it is something we are passionate about. Respect is a 2 way street, for example....If Imus had any respect he would have never said what he did in the first place. If he would have taken 2 seconds, and a measure of respect for those women, he would have shut his suck.... The greatest censorship we can have is make sure our mouth isnt a scud missile.....meaning make sure it has proper guidance before we fire it off....

ok...dont laugh... Erica bought me a nice pair of oakleys.... I fired up the boat with them on my hat......gone.....ugh I happened to stop at a kangaroo on my way home and picked up a set of puggs. uv protective, polarized, they fit nice, and looked dead dead sexy heheheh (not!) I have to tell ya they are by far the best glasses I have ever had for fishing. $20 bucks. anyone else tried puggs??

My Dad sent me an article about how fish see different colors. After reading the crawfish post here I thought I would throw this out there. I am not sure if I agree with it or not, but heres the jist of it. Bass see in "tones" not colors. Shades of grey so to speak. For example, chartreuse is ultra bright white, even brighter than plain white. So different colors to them, are basically just different shades. It went on to say that bass often feed by shape recognition. So the easier it is for them to define the shape of something, the more likely they are to hit it. Finally, they explained that to simply have a white bait a black bait and many shades of grey inbetween would not suffice, because of "depth of color" that blues reds etc etc provide. Ok having said that. Initially to me that goes against everything I know about fishing plastics, where generally you try to match the lake bottom, or a color of prey ie crawdads. If you are trying to get your bait to "blend in" then wouldnt that make it stand out LESS? This would throw the black at night right out the window, and match the hatch ridiculous. To me this article made some points, but all in all just seemed to go against everything I have known about bass.... What do you guys think??

Avid, Yeah for the most part I ended up fine. I healed just in time to make the first gulf war, then onto somalia, helped to settle a coup attempt in haiti, visited columbia for a bit, then managed to spend 3 years in Iraq this go round. Nicked up here and there along the way, but nothing more than scars now, and perhaps a mildly sick sence of humor.... We gotta get that wing of your in shape as there is alot of good times and fishing ahead of us! Your bud recon

how about the "gooey duck" episode.....im sure i spelled it wrong. that was interesting. I also liked the salt mine one, and the aligator farm. theres a guy here we all know he dosent cast its more like a throw as we have heard from his yarn, a new mook is born baits stick to him like hes made of velcro, a 5 oclock shadow, he must hate norelco running the trolling motor is not his forte, but hell fish with the best any given day i hope with this ode his nose dont get bent, im voting for mook muddy for president!! and if he should have a slightly bent nose just remember the harder I push ....the righter it goes!!
