Great story, really enjoyed it. The most excitement that I've had while fishing lately was having to be pulled out of the mud by the park service so they could check my license. I guess I took one step a little too far out. Those guys thought it was pretty funny though.

It is a good thing you cant see me when I am having coffee first thing in the morning. ;D I am a little past my late twenty's to say the least. My oldest daughter will be in her twenties in about 5 years. However I sure would like to say thanks for that statement. ;D

Great report and nice fish Matt. That is one mean looking bass. I have not seen one like that yet. Very cool. It sounds like you are having as much fun with the shad as I have had with them. I have heard alot of people say they remind them of a buzzbait. I have never fished a buzzbait but I do love the shad. Congrats on the outing and the fish. Thanks for sharing. ;D

Great report and I really enjoyed the read. Thanks for sharing. I have always liked the looks of Matts swimbaits since I first saw them. I have always wanted to give them a try but I do not think my rod and reel set up would allow it. ;D I know if I had the right stuff Matts stuff would be the first thing I would buy. Well yesterday was our 20 year Wedding Anniversary and what a great day we had. We celebrated it by doing the one thing that we both really enjoy... FISHING! For those of you that have never done this I will say that their is no way to better spend your Anniversary! Our day was perfect. it was very overcast most of the time and it looked like the skies could open up any minute which most of the time always equals one thing GREAT FISHING! We shuffled the kids off to school and Matt tied up some loose ends with his work schedule and I dug out something that I have just been dying to break out this year.. My WADERS! Ohhh baby I could not wait. Soon after doing all that we were off to our favorite honeyhole. It was not long after we arrived that I broke the skunk for us and we got got down to business. It was not a huge fish but it will certainly do. The next fish had my husbands name all over it. First thing I did this morning was give him his Anniversary present that I had been saving for just this occasion since I knew he has really been wanting to try them and this was definitely the Lake for it. So I will make you wait no longer and unvail the bait to you! Matts first fish on the first cast with his new gift.. THE RAGE TAIL LOBSTER! Of course a little close up of that shot.. Well we continued around the lake for a while but mainly we focused on the deeper water because that seems to be where the fish were hanging out the most. I landed a few more fish but also managed to get quite a few snotrockets today too and I always love to catch a few of those too. I did not manage to get any pics of those. A few of my fishies! After that low and behold my husband had on a nice fatty fish on another one of his favorite baits. The BLR Bomber. He kicks my butt with the big baits every time! I waded out of the water to get a snapshot of this one. This fish was so pretty I just had to get myself in the shot too! And that was it for our much too short day of Anniversary fishing. As usual there was not alot of idle chatter about nothing which is just the way we like it and we were quite happy with how productive our day of fishing turned out. As the day ended my husband ended up with 3 crappie, 2 largemouth and 2 snot rockets and I ended up with a little over 10 fish, a very good mixture of bass and snot rockets. Then it was time for dinner and on the menu is all of the crab legs you can eat. Thanks for listening and good fishing to you all. :D Also cannot forget to thank my husband and best friend for a great 20 years and I am definitely looking forward to the next 20 too. :D Have I told you lately what a lucky lady I am.

Well with the new school year being in full swing now I have not had the chance to get out and fish very often. The other day when I picked the kids up from school my daughter said to me lets go fishing. Since we did not have alot of time we hit a small pond on the way to the grocery store. I had some new jigs that I won that we were going to try and also Madison wanted to try some topwater fishing. I am happy to report that she did well and I am so very proud of her. She even confiscated my hat for the day. The small pond that we went too was very muddy so I as not sure how it was going to turn out. First thing that she did was tie on one our newly won jigs. To my surprise on her second cast she had one on. ;D Maddie panfish After making our way around to the back of the pond she decided to use my pole and try her hand at fishing some topwater for the first time. We put on a green pumpkin and chartreuse Rage Tail Shad since I have been having such good luck with it. It took her a little practice but finally she had success at last. ;D My little fish kisser with her first Rage Tail Bass. My husband had a nice one on his rage shad earlier in the week at this pond too. YESTERDAYS OUTING Yesterday my husband surprised me and took a day off of work. We decided to hit the river for a while. I set the boat by some flats and began casting into shore. I upsized my baits but was just not having much luck. After about an hour or so I decided to downsize my baits and give that a try. I put a small magic stik on a 1/4 ounce jig head in my favorite color for the river, green pumpkin gold. Finally I had some success and let me tell you it was a new one for me and I was soooo excited. I got my first Musky! ;D No it was not huge but it was a first for me and man I was so excited about it I almost fell out of the boat! My first Musky!!!! ;D My husband caught a few fish too.. Here is two of his. Then I also managed to catch a few smallies myself. Here is two of mine I then wanted to head up river to a spot that I like to fish. When I got there I had a big surprise and someone was already there doing some fishing. I let him keep that fishing whole all to himself though. ;D another one I hope you guys have had the chance to fish a little more than I have lately.
