  1. Great to see that you spent some time with your dad. Nice report. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Been there and done that. It just happened to me a few weeks ago. It was a huge bullfrog. I got him through both lips. He really wanted my senko. I tried to unhook him myself but it was disgusting. I handed the thing over to hubby for him to unhook. Frog made it out ok. Truthfully I think I was the one who was worse off after the whole thing.
  3. That is AWESOME! Great post and tell you daughter she has an awesome pair of boots! I wear the same type of boots when I fish except for mine are brown and ugly. They don't make them in pretty colors when you get old like me. ;D
  4. Congrats to you both that is awesome new. I just love babies. Little toes and fingers, first laugh and smile.... I shall stop now this get me in trouble. Congrats to you both!!!!!!

  11. That is awesome. From a womans perspective it is nice to see another lady that enjoys fishing. Looks like you guys had a great day on the water. I take a guide trip every year on that section of the river and you guys have some nice FAT smallies up there. Congrats on the great day. Nice report and pics. Thanks for sharing.
  12. I set the hook one time on a fish and it came flying out of the water. It was just a little guy. I felt so bad, the poor thing went for the ride of it's life. :-[ I always tell my hubby the little ones always seem to hit your line like a freight train. I think it is because they have to fight a lttle more to get some food. The big ones on the other hand just inhale and swallow. They don't have to worry about fighting for food. They just take what they want because they can. You never feel a thing until they move. ;D
  13. Thanks for the kind replies. I had a awesome time. It was so much fun fishing. I just have to practice not pulling the bait away. As for the arm I have tendonitis from fishing. I really should be taking a rest but I am having a little trouble with that. They were fishing up in the 1000 islands region. I would not mind going up this weekend. I hear their is a big tourney up there.
  14. Nice smallie. I bet he put up quite a fight.
  15. I took a 45 minute drive the other day to Dicks Sporting Goods to pick up something new I wanted to try. It was the Rage shad. All I can say is it was awesome. I chose the green pumpkin with the chartreuse belly. The bait held up very well I was still using the same one for 2 days with the exception of the very first one I put on because a fish took the entire thing and left me with my line flappin in the breeze. This whole topwater experience was very new to me but it is one that I have been wanting to try. I can honestly say that I had a blast. This has got to be one of my new favorites for sure. The first time that I had a fish blow up on it scared the heck out me. I almost fell in the lake. My husband thought that was pretty amusing though. I could hear him laughing at me all the way down the shoreline. Truthfully I think he was waiting for that to happen. The most difficult thing I found about fishing topwater is not to yank the bait right out of the fishes mouth when it hits the lure because it is so startling. I need more practice.. Yesterday we fished this place for a while and had great luck but we did not get any pics of the fish because it was pouring. Today we had overcast skies with a few passing rainshowers which I welcomed because it has been so hot and humid lately that I can't hardly stand it. I did manage to keep myself from jumping in the water to cool off today though. This is good, usually I always end up in the water at some point. I focused my attention on the weedbeds dragging the shad either right though them or on the edges of them. The fish seemed to be out in the deeper water. I don't think I noticed any of them cruising the shoreline. Here are some of the fish that we caught. I hope you guys had the chance to get out and do some fishing too and if your planning on going soon all I have to say is TOPWATER IS GREAT!

  19. Thanks for sticking it out and reading this report. I hope that it was not too depressing. I appreciate all of the kind words. She was the most awesome lady and I really just wanted to share a little something about her.
  20. First off I would like to say I am sorry for not being around so much lately. I have missed reading all of your reports and hope your doing well. I have not been fishing at all lately because my grandmother passed away last week. She was an awesome lady who I look up to and admire so much. She always knew what the most important things in life were, friends, family and cherished each moment that she had with them. She really made it look easy and I will miss her alot. Fishing for me has always been a relaxing experience, a time for reflection, a place to be alone with my thoughts so to speak. So naturally when my husband said to me yesterday we were going fishing for a little bit I was a little apprehensive to be alone with my thoughts knowing where they would lead me but as I watched the sun setting across the lake I realized that never again would I be alone out there for my nan would always be with me. Cheering me on. Yesterday's fishing trip was a short one but it was time well spent as usual. Every fish that I caught which happened to be only 2 was for my nan. I held them high and told her that. I am sure that she was smiling as she stood alongside my grandfather in heaven. My first one I caught just off a weedbed I was slowly dragging a magic stick along the top and letting it fall. It was not the biggest fish I have caught but it was for my nanny and I can say that it really was one of the most important fish that I have caught. Not long after that fish my husband stood down the shoreline from me throwing his BLR Bomber. For those of you who don't know this is a 10 inch senko which he likes to throw alot. By now it is about 2 inches shorter. He was not having much luck and realizing that he forgot to put some CB sauce on it he quickly added some. I think it was the shad scent. Not long after that he had one on and fought it for some time before finally getting it to shore. He was also working the weeds. It was a new pb for him and I was very happy for him. Here are 2 of that fish. Last but not least one more for my nan before I had to go. The sun was almost setting now and it was time to end my day. I know that this is not my ususal report but I feel that it was one I needed to do. So for those of you that stuck with me and read this. Thank you.. Also if you remember the next time your out on the water and catch one hold it up high and say This one is for you Louise. Please.
