Yesterday was the first day of summer vacation for my daughter and first thing in the morning she headed into my room to say lets go fishing. ;D Eventually we did and she ended up using my new pole for a little while and she landed herself quite a little hawg. ALL BY HERSELF! I am so proud of her. She could not wait to get home to show daddy her hawg. ;D I just had to share it. Since my camera is broke I had to take a short video. I hope you enjoy.

Thanks everyone. We did have a great day on the water that day. The river has not been as good to me since then. All the fish seem to be in transition and things are very tough. I hope the fishing gets better again soon. The fish in the first pic is some sort of trout. The fish was quite a surprise to be honest.

Thanks everyone. We do always seem to have alot of fun when we are fishing whether were catching fish or not catching fish. We always seem to have ALOT of laughs. ;D ;D ;D I am a wife too and I bet I can guess why.

We headed out to one of my favorite honeyholes after my husband got home from work yesterday. It was partly cloudy skies and at one point a little drizzle. Weather channel said that there was a chance of some pretty good thunderstorms and this was my favorite kinda weather to fish in so I was pretty excited! All in all it turned out to be a good hour or two. I was super excited when I got 2 perch! The first perch that I got was huge. I did not get a picture of that one though. The darn thing stabbed me twice. I grabbed hold of the fish right behind the head and man did I get poked. I am not sure but I think these fish have some sort of poker behind the gill because it was not the spikes on top that go me. I was holding the fish the opposite direction. It hurt. That fish got me good. Here is one of the perch that I got All in all we managed quite a few fish. My husband got a nice fatty bass. His weighed 4.8 on the scale. This is his biggest for the day.. He also landed this cute little crappie on this big bait he was throwing. I could not believe it. This was my biggest for the day. It was the last fish that I caught. One more thing... My youngest wanted to go to her favorite little pond when she got home from school. We did not have alot of time and did not stay too long but she ended up getting this fish and we did not know what it was. I took a small video ( forgive me but it is sideways) Any idea's on what it is? A few people have said it looks like a shad. I almost forgot, My hubby came across this sign and I think it is the best sign ever. I asked him to take a pic of it for me.

Well if I go camping I want it to be in a camper! My hubby would much prefer a tent but I hate those things. I am too old, the ground makes my arthritis hurt and there are bears in the woods. I hate bears. If I wanna see a bear I will go to the zoo or something. At the very least I wanna door beteween us if I see one. My first pick would be what BucketmouthAngler13 last said. I would choose a suite at the Hilton first every time. ;D

Thanks everyone, we did have a good time. It is always a good thing to watch the kids at these events. The smile on their faces when they reel one is is just great. To be honest I was very happy this year because I did not see one child without a parent there. Last year we ended up taking another little guy around with us because no one else was there with him. I felt very sad for this kid. He did not really know what to do. We gave him some tackle and set him up and I think in the end he had a very good time. It made me quite angry to see that no one bothered to come with him to cheer him on. I am not sure I will check it out later. Skillet you are so right. Sometimes I think it is more fun for me to watch them. ;D

Well on Saturday it was the annual fishing contest at Zackies Pond. My daughter Madison looks forward to this every year and this year was no different. They had a pretty good turn out again this year which I was very happy to see. Madison could not wait to get started. The time had finally come and Madison was getting herself all geared up. She had her trout magnets and her Hawg Sauce. She insisted that was all she needed. Here she is slathering up her trout magnet with some sauce. Then it was time to get off to the races. ;D An hour later the contest had come to a close and it was time to announce the winner. So there she stood with her fingers crossed telling us to do the same. ;D Finally the time had come and Madison won the contest for the biggest fish caught. It was a 7.5 inch sunfish. She won herself another pole!! Then she also picked up some power bait with her raffle ticket It was a great day and Madison has won a new pole 2 years in a row now. I am so proud of her.

I just wanted to wish all you dads out there a Happy Fathers Day. I hope it is a great one for all of you. ;D

Well I like fishing for both but I would have to say that a smallmouth fights much harder. ;D

I am not a big fan of geese. They remind me of roosters. Man I hate roosters. There was this one rooster that used to live on this street that my girlfriends and I used to have to walk past him every day comming home from school. That sucker used to chase us everyday! It never caught me but it did catch a few of my friends. To this day I am no fan of roosters.

Well this weekend we had no kids and the forecast looked very good except for it was going to be a little windy. We decided to hit the Delaware in search of some smallies. Our main goal this weekend was just to have fun and do a little exploring. The tourists were out in full bloom. We first started heading up river where we connected with some smallies right away some of them were pretty nice so it was quite a treat. We did not get any pics of them though. We then headed back down stream and up a little channel around one of the islands to see what we could find up there. It got very shallow so needless to say I was picked to be the one who would get wet and so I towed the boat upstream till we could use the motor again. Matt also has a video of this somewhere, he was kind enough to holler Mush! Mush! in the background. ( I did not hear him say this when I was pulling the boat though or he would have been pulling the boat. We ended up going as far as we could on this little channel and decided to float our way back and fish. I broke off as soon as we started so while I retied Matt fished on and managed quite a few smallies from this spot. Finally I was retied then on to the next spot. I casted to shore and had one on. I though it was a smallie but it came unbuttoned. Matt casted out to the same spot quick and he managed to hook up with it. It was not a smallie but it still was an interesting catch. We then moved on down the river to another location that had some downed trees and it was panfish heaven there. We managed quite a few of them. Here is one of them. Down river a little further and we found a deeper hole. A few smallies were caught here but nothing big just little ones but still alot of fun to catch. Matt was trying to take my head off with the tree above me in this shot but I was quick enough to duck and get out of the way. He was not getting the boat to himself that easy. Then I decided as we headed down river a little further to throw on a 10 inch case snake since I did so well for smallies with it our last time out. This time I casted out with it and within the first couple casts I had a hit. To my surprise this big snake brought me this little bitty rock bass. I guess I will go back to the smaller baits for the bigger fish. All in all we had a great day and an even better weekend until one of the motors on the boat died. We were left with just the trolling motor on the front of the boat so I had to learn fast how to troll. I did not do to bad of a job. I did put Matt on some fish but I also put him in some trees too. Oh well, practice makes perfect I guess. I would like to add that my husband had alot of fun with his new camera. Athough I am not sure who some of the women are in the pics. Poor ladies, this new camera has quite a zoom on it. Hope you guys did well too.
