Found the coolest thing today
Wow guys, some great stories here. Thanks for sharing. I don't think I have ever met anyone famous. On a side note here I did talk to my mother-in-law and she does not remember what this invite was for. Still was pretty cool though.

Found the coolest thing today
Wow guys, great stories. You know it got me thinking about a story that my father in law once told me about after dinner one night. My father in law was just an awesome guy, he passed away a few years ago now but boy I could listen to him talk for hours. He was in the marines. A sharp shooter and in later years a drill Sergeant, most importantly he was the father of 7 children. Six boys and one girl. I miss him alot. Anyways, while in the marines at one point he was either stationed in or passing though California. (I don't remember which) Well him and a few of his marine buddies decided to go to the movies one afternoon. While they were in the theatre some sort of riot had supposedly broke out outside so when they went to exit the theatre there was chaos going on. One officer in particular grabbed ahold of my father in law. My father in law said look buddy I am not causing any problems, just trying to get out of her. That did not matter to the cop so he preceded to to try to grab ahold of him and tried to cuff him. My father in law was a big man and was just not having that at all so he took a swing at him and the cop was out cold. My father in law and his marine buddies quickly got out of there. Fast forward a few years and my in laws were having dinner with another couple that they were friends with and that couple had another couple over as well. A little while into the dinner conversation the one gentleman starts telling a story that was all to familiar to my father in law. See this guy was a cop in California about 40 years ago and precedes to tell this story about how this big marine knocked him out cold one day and the last thing this guy remember seeing was this big black insignia ring. At this point my father in law (smirking a little) leaned across the table stuck up his fist and said to the guy "Did it look like this?" YOU GUESSED IT! It was the same cop my father in law knocked out 40 years earlier in California. How is that for coincidence? ;D ;D

Another interesting one. Sorry to hear that he was murdered though. How very cool about the letter from the J.E Hoover though. It is good that she saved them. One day you will have to show them to your children too. I know that my hubands grandfather also was awared a Congressional Gold Medal from Ronald Reagan as well. I don't know where it is or who has it. I am assuming his wife still does. I would like to see it though. Up close and personal so to speak. ;D

Found the coolest thing today
Well today I found the neatest thing. I thought I would share. I was at my mother-in-laws today going through boxes of photo's and stuff and I came across an invitation. It was on "official white house" stationary. I opened it up and it was a dinner invitation from Mrs. Roosevelt to my husbands grandfather inviting him to dinner at the white house. Isn't that just the coolest. I can't wait to show the kids. It is just amazing what you can come across when you finally start going through all those old boxes of stuff. ;D

What a jerk!
Fiirst off I would like to say I am very sorry for what this jerk put you through on the water. I agree that roadwarrier has some great advice as do a few others in this thread. I also agree that you should tell your husband as well. You did nothing wrong at all and it sounds like you handled your self very well. I must admit you probably handled it much better than I would have. I would suggest that the next time you talk to the club president that you ask him "What he IS going to do?" not "IF he is going to do something". Next time you run into this bozo tell him what he did was inappropriate and unacceptable and your not going to allow him to ever put you in this position again. If he cannot see things your way I suggest since he is a family man himself perhaps a phone call to his wife would help. I am sure that she could persuade him to see things your way. ;D Good luck at your next tournament.
