  1. The high school state competition has been at Cedar Creek for the few years I've competed. Cedar creek is a hard lake to figure out. That being said, over the years the tournaments have been won livescoping main lake. As for Richland Chambers, there is a large flat that everyone knows about near the dam. It is okay bass fishing but you will catch 100s of white bass. Obviously the dam isn't a bad option either. Additionally, the north ends and feeder creeks and rivers are known for having the best largemouth fishing in the lake. Since you're close to Cedar Creek, I'd just keep going NE and hit some of the lakes up there if you can't figure out Richland or Cedar. Hope this helps. Benjamin
  2. Amazing square bills, in my opinion best on the market. They have the action of balsa but the toughness of hard plastic. Another good one by Rapala is the Rocco. These are the only two square bills that are in my boat besides some strike kings that I've found. Hope this helps. Benjamin
  3. Firstly, I'm not here to say that I catch toads because I don't. I catch around a 5lb average though. The key factor of being successful in the hunt for big fish is to be on big fish. Some people fish hoping for the one big bite instead of focusing on finding a group of larger than average fish. I don't know about up north, but down here the majority of larger than average fish are always schooled up. Another thing about these big fish is that they are smart. They've all more than likely been caught before. I present them with the most realistic baits possible. Taking this into account, in my personal experience big fish eat only so often and you can't miss this feeding window. Big fish stay in the same general area their whole life. Once you have found the "magical school" fish for them at all different times of the day if you are fishing for a tournament. There is usually an "it" factor that makes them bite. It could be as small as a cloud blocking the sun for 5 minutes. Taking everything into account I also throw larger than average baits or not very common techniques. I am able to use this information on a regular basis and catch big fish consistently. Benjamin
  4. Because Googan is not a very good company at all.
  5. Megabass for JDM. American made though is Zoom no doubt. As for hooks VMC takes the cake. Terminal tackle is WOO Tungsten. Benjamin You joking right?
  6. Aquaflage has lots of good options. I use their shirts primarily. Benjamin
  7. For sure go check out 3:16 swimbaits before placing that tackle warehouse order. They are some of the best soft plastic swimbaits on the market. I own one or more of every soft plastic swimbait they make. Another good soft plastic is the B6 by Big Bite. You would obviously want to get some daingerous swimmers by Bass Mafia. As for glide baits, tater hogs are pretty good, and I throw some 3:16 glides, but the best looking gizzard shad imitator is by Fish30 Acre. There are some more by a company called phoney frog that I'm looking forward to using. All glide baits that aren't mass produced are going to hurt your wallet but they are all perfect and work amazing. Hope you catch some toads. Benjamin
  8. That is 100% correct that is what I do and it works very well.
  9. What is the name of that purple wakebait and where do I et one?
  10. This is caused by to fast of a retrieve. Slowing it down not only allows the bait to actually do its designed purpose but you also catch more fish. Hope this helps. Benjamin

Down here in the south I know a few anglers that use them a lot. This time of year the bass are just pushing around schools of shad all day until late fall. You can get some to bite on techniques like underspins, small swimbaits, and walking baits. But I have found that the most effective way of catching those fish is to launch a half ounce damiki vault as far as you can over the cover these fish are relating to and yo yo it. Very slow to where you can barely feel the vibration of it and just small little pumps with your rod tip. This gets down there to the bigger bass that are hanging off the edges of the schools picking off the wounded shad. It is very effective. Hope this helps. Benjamin
  12. I personally would take a different approach than topwater. I would get a 1/4 oz bullet weight and peg it above a 3 ot VMC Ewg and rig your favorite creature bait on there. I would look for small hole in the grass mat and pitch to them. Try to stay in the hole as long as possible on that retrieve. Never only cast in there once either. Slowly reel it up out of the hole and across the mat then make another pitch doing the same thing. My creature bait of choice would be a Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver in Calfornia 420 color. Hope this helps. Benjamin
  13. Big Swimbaits are a technique that is getting more popular. What's yalls take on it and the baits themselves? Do some of yall fish them and how do yall fish them? What's your favorite swimbait and do you prefer hard body or soft? I personally have gained confidence in this technique over the years and every time I go out I throw one. I'm from the brushy and structure filled lakes of Texas so I through a weedless magdraft or 3:16 swimbait. I throw them over grass, parallel to grass lines, uphill on points. I am just trying to become more diverse and advanced with this technique. Thank you for your input.
  14. I have just completely switched over to Garmins with the purchase of a new boat and am very unfamiliar with them. I have a couple of questions. First off, I have downloaded all of the waypoints off of my hummingbirds onto a sd card, will the points have to change format for them to work or do I put the card in and import all of the waypoints as is? My second question is what is a better choice Garmin Navionics+, Garmin Navionics Vision+ Lake Maps, or Garmin LakeVu g3 Ultra Maps? Thank Your for your Help.
  15. Any deep crank baits?
  16. Any baits that look like crappy that you know of? I have learned that they are great this time of year on deep brush piles.
  17. I have heard of some people drop-shotting flies, does anyone know anything about it? If so what flies work?
  18. Bite is easy to get down here if you know how to catch them right now. Not many fatties yet fish are getting thicker, lots of the females have fairly developed eggs right now. Also the wind is horrible right now.

What is the father son brand that sells umbrella rigs. I remember the son is a professional fisherman. I cannot remember where I heard about it but it does exist. Anybody know the brand.
  20. There is no way I can beat that price. Mine look the same but not with a painted head. Also, I am having problems uploading a picture.
  21. Will post a picture when I get home.
  22. Does $4 a piece sound fair?
  23. I am looking to start selling my handmade crappie jigs to make some extra money. My supplies are very limited at the moment, how much should I charge for two 1/16 oz marabou jigs?
  24. What are the highest quality 2 or 3 piece spinning rods that you guys know of? Price range doesn't matter. I am looking for a rod that I can keep in my truck for any time I want to wet a line. Thanks.
