Loomis EDGE Rods
I'm guessing you've had some time to fish it. Could you share your thoughts and give a review?

Rod Sensitivity - old vs new
I think Edge has turned the corner on their customer service after going through a bad patch. I ordered a rod on 5/31 and received it 6/7. Rod was packaged in an extremely stout tube. Can't wait to fish it, feels fantastic in hand.

How well do you know the JDM counterparts to Shimano USA?
In Shimano's JDM line up, what would be the closest equivalent to a USA Tranx 201?
-
23 metanium
I was looking at spool capacity for JDM and the USA Met B. Trying to figure out which JDM reel matches the USA model. JDM SE = 100m x 8lb JDM 23 = 120m x 12lb JDM 20 = 100m x 12lb USA B = 100m x 12lb (110 yards) So USA and JDM 20 are the same? Patiently waiting for Digitaka to add some XG lefties.

Need a rod to go with the Omnia reel you picked up last week? Now they are offering the same deal on rods.

True. I'm hoping the enlarged store (or warehouse) helps with available stock.

It's nice to see the Omnia love on here. They have become my favorite shop in the USA. Heads up...they are offering a $30 rebate on the $29 premium membership through the 27th. It would be silly not to take advantage of this deal. You can always find a 15% off code for Omnia somewhere. Premium gives you 10% back, fast free shipping, and frequent exclusive offers. Another big name online tackle shop that buys and sells used gear has advertised their membership program to me, but it doesn't work out to be free like the Omnia membership. Omnia wins the battle for my bait monkey dollars.

Will the world record small mouth be broken?
I like your thinking. I'm voting for a tributary of the Snake. I think the record will fall in the next few years at Dworshak. It probably has already, but no one is talking.

Unfortunately it couldn't last forever. But, we might still see another bump. Election results could cause movement in the bait monkey's favor.?

Free shipping on the last digitaka reel I bought. It only took 4 days to arrive in Oregon. A week faster than an order from TW which is located 4,000 miles closer. The exchange rate is great, scratch the JDM monkey behind the ears and tell him he's a good boy.

I didn't receive one. Maybe I don't spend enough or because I use discount codes every time I order.?

Going west to the frontier
For steelhead, the last 2 seasons were all time bad. This year is an improvement but still sucks compared to ten years ago.. Regulations are tight but there is opportunity. The Columbia is tidal up to Bonneville dam. Visibility is good this time of year. The best fishing for smallmouth will be above Bonneville or The Dalles dams.

Let's play a game. Match the top water bait to the conditions.
I'm new to the top water game and trying to educate myself. Simply put, I'm wondering if there are any general patterns I should follow when matching top water lures to specific conditions. Given 4 styles of top water baits. Ploppers/Choppos Walking baits Poppers Frogs How would you match each to environmental conditions like... Wind: Lots of chop. A little chop. Glass Light: Dawn/Dusk, Overcast, Bright day. Water clarity: Clear, Less Clear, Dirty Water depth Thanks for the help.

Picked up a new Vanford for $189.99 at C/BPS. I recieved a flyer in the mail for loyalty members that stacked on top of the $40 off for trading in an old reel.

I have, and was wondering about that. If the DWW runs similar it would be a bit cheaper. A comparison between the two would be great if anyone has fished both.

New lures for 2022
Z man mini max. I'm hoping the 2/0 hook will increase my smallie numbers while still sticking the big girls. They look sweet carrying a 3.5 spunk shad! Storm Deep Wiggle Wart. I bought a few at the cabela's sale while burning a GC balance. If they don't work for bass, I'm sure they will crush steelhead and salmon.

I can't find any reviews. If you have fished them what are your thoughts. Is the action like the standard WW? Thanks.

How is one to know which names can and can't be used? Is there a list to help accidentally running afoul of this policy? I have no idea what I can't write about, other than profanity. Don't want to get myself banned.

Help me crack the code.
I'm fairly new to the bass world and have had some success when fishing lakes or rivers with structure, but what do you target when structure is limited? I'm headed to a small Oregon reservoir for largemouth, some of good size. Low Fall water levels, 60 degree water. The main forage base is stocked rainbow trout, bluegill and crayfish. No Shad. With the drawn down water levels there isn't any structure or vegetation to speak of, just mud bottom. Two exceptions would be a few points and the riprap of the dam face. Most of the lake is less than 15' with a little deeper water at the dam. Any suggestion of where to look other than the points and dam? I'm thinking I need to cover water so will probably start with a jackhammer along the bottom and an S-waver 168 where it's shallower. Open to suggestions if you think something might work better.
