  1. I’ve taken mine out a few times and it’s pretty good. I can’t really say it’s better than a Zillion. They perform about the same IMO. I don’t have an A2 though
  2. I got 2 pairs I use regularly: Oakley Brown Tungsten Iridium for most conditions Costa blue mirror glass for bluebird bright days offshore
  3. Depends on the situation. Skipping docks I like a 6’10”-7’0”, pitching cover I like a 7’2”-7’3”, open water dragging a football jig I like a 7’5”-7’6”
  4. Excellent rod, I’m sure you’ll love it
  5. 743 for slightly more distance, 703 for slightly better accuracy. I regularly pitch senkos in tight areas with the 743 though. Just a little easier with a shorter rod. No wrong answer there
  6. Reel came in yesterday and it looks/feels great. Pretty much just feels like a beefier Vanford. Guess that’s what it technically is lol
  7. I just ordered a Stradic FM 2500 shallow spool on Amazon. Got it for $168. Gonna put it on a 7’0” M Expride Anyone else have this reel? I’ve heard some mixed reviews on it on Reddit. Never owned a Stradic but I’ve had a Sustain and Vanfords before
  8. Yep they were 211 each on Amazon from Japan. Hard not to load up on them for that price with how good they are lol
  9. One is going on a 7’4” HF Tatula Elite AGS for frogs and the other is going on a 7’3” HXF Legend Tournament for T-rigs
  10. Twins arrived a week earlier than expected!
  11. I have a 743c and it’s a great rod. Definitely a step up from Sierras and Champ XPs. A mile ahead of Fury’s I have a shallow spool Alphas SV on mine and it makes for a killer weightless senko rod
  12. I put enough mono backing on my braid to just cover the spool and stop from slipping. The rest is straight braid and I’ll throw a 7’ fluoro leader on if the water is clear. Braid stays good for a long time so the price doesn’t bother me
  13. I’ve had a Striker 4 for a while that I use on my kayak, but I found myself just not taking it out most of the time because I guess I’m not sure how to really utilize it. I see the fish on there and the depths they are at but I have a hard time out there really pinpointing fish and structure because it’s a 2d image. Do yall have any tips on how to make the most out of using one of these? Different settings and stuff that help? Thanks
  14. Im not too sure about the 7’2” heavy exactly, but I had a 7’2” MH for a while and I have the 7’0” M spinning Expride B. They both are just a smidge stiff. Maybe 1/4-1/2 a power. My 755c Xtasy is pretty much a dead on heavy. My Croixs I don’t even pay attention to the power rating, just the line and lure rating. Some are heavier, some are lighter. I’d guess the 7’2” H Expride would be maybe a bit stouter than the Champ, but it’d be really close. Do you live near a store where you could get your hands on one? That does tend to get dangerous with those Exprides though, you might forget to put it down and walk out with it lol
  15. It was listed as a Miravel by a third party seller. It didn’t give me an option to replace it, unless I didn’t see it. Just to return it for a refund
  16. That Champ Extreme 705 should be a pretty good rod for that. If you are wanting another rod for that purpose though, the 7’2” HF should work. The Expride B line runs a tad stiffer than the rating suggests.
  17. Thanks, yeah it was an easy process. Never made a return through them before. Just gotta drop it off at a UPS.
  18. The other day I ordered what I thought was gonna be a Miravel 2000 shallow spool for 78 bucks on Amazon. All the other sizes were about 90-100 bucks so I thought I’d be getting a steal for my panfish rod. Well a 2000 size shallow spool Nasci showed up on my door today. It’s a fine reel and that’s about what a jdm nasci goes for anyway. I’m not sure if it is was a mistake on the website or if they just sent the wrong reel. but if I were to return it, does Amazon usually fix that kind of stuff? Or is it not really worth my time? I noticed it went up to 89 bucks for that size now. Anyone else deal with this through them? Thanks
  19. Are you talking about the one in Prosper? That’s a pretty nice one
  20. I adjust by feel too and consider factors (line, lure, target fish, size of fish in the pond, etc) I don’t like my drag slipping at all on hook set. Don’t want to run the risk of not getting a good one. I tend to set my drag a little tighter than most, haven’t had a fish snap my line yet
  21. Sweet yeah Ill definitely get a couple for the zillions, thanks!
  22. Steez came in the other day and she is a beaut. I saw I accidentally said I got the “CT” version in an earlier post. I actually picked up the new “SV” model. I love the paint job on it, but if it’s anything like the Zillions, it might be prone to chipping. My Zillions look pretty chewed up lol. At least the Steez comes with a reel cover that I will for sure use. It’s very smooth and a hair lighter than the Zillion. I went ahead and ordered 2, 8 speed Zillions as well. Then I’ll take em out and compare them on the water. Overall so far, I don’t think I’d pay 750 for one, but for a little over 400, it’s a good deal
  23. Seaguar Invisx is my go-to, very good stuff
  24. Never used Edge rods, but I love my Daiwas
