Seviin GX spinning reel?
Been thinking of replacing my old Nasci FB 1000 on my UL setup (st Croix premier 6’ UL) just saw by stacking the current sale on the reel, Presidents’ Day sale, and Omnia credits, I can snag a 1000 size Seviin GX for $48. For a reel that’s normally $190, that seems good but does anyone have experience with this reel?

Shimano Expride B

Okuma X rods are Amazing thread talk
I had a Psycho Stick that I liked before I sold it. Never tried the X-Series but they look like sweet rods

Daiwa Tatula or St. Croix Premier Spinning (or Screw it and get the Tatula XT)
This^ i would tighten the crap out of the reel nuts and it caused about 1/4 inch of play in the reel seat of one of my LTB rods. Still useable but there is a little gap now. Other than that I haven’t had any issues with my 7 Croix rods and the service has been great.

Daiwa Tatula or St. Croix Premier Spinning (or Screw it and get the Tatula XT)
I haven’t fished the XTs but I have the regular Tatula rods and the Premiers. With the Tatula rods you are getting a different blank, not sure if it’s better but it is nice. You also get a cork handle and FazLite guide inserts instead of Aluminum Oxide. I hear the XT rods are great and punch above the $100 price point, however, the regular Tatula rods are great and outperform their $150 dollar MSRP. Even more so now being on sale, not sure if BPS has them marked down but a lot of places do right now. The Premiers are nice rods as well. They have AO guide inserts, cork handles, and are made in the USA with a great warranty if that is important to you. I’d still say the Tatula is a better overall rod, but its up to you if it’s worth sacrificing a little performance for peace of mind and a USA made product.

Is February too early to fish in the south?
Really I’ll fish in weather depending on my personal comfort limits. As long as the water isn’t iced over (which it usually isn’t in DFW) fish will bite. However if it’s below freezing and cloudy/windy I typically won’t put myself through the torture. Hard to fish slow when the weather is that cold. Anything above freezing and it being sunny out, or over 40 on a cloudy day, I’ll be out there. No matter the weather, fish still gotta eat.

Poison Adrena question
Darn, I was worried about that lol. My PA has a broken tip guide and I was gonna replace it with the express program. Given that the 2018 PA is discontinued, I’m guessing they’ll send a 2024 model. I do fish a lot of Texas rigs though and I’m sure both the PA and 7’3” HXF LTB would see action, just would mean I’d need another moving bait rod

Poison Adrena question
How does the 2024 model Poison Adrena 7’3” MH compare to the 2018 model? Is the action different? I have the 2018 version and was interested if anyone had both and can compare the 2

Sorta accidentally ordered a Met
Well I got it in the mail today and it’s a sweet reel. It’s as smooth as my Zillions and looks really nice. I will say it’s more clickity clackity than a Zillion but that doesn’t bother me. Supposed to hit 70 degrees next week so I hope to try it out when it warms up. Wind chills were below zero yesterday, I guess that beaver really did see his shadow

Inexpensive Spinning Reels
Before they changed them and got rid of the AR switch, Pflueger Presidents were amazing for the price

Sorta accidentally ordered a Met
I have a Steez, 4 Zillions, 2 Alphas, and 2 Tatulas. Safe to say I love my Daiwas. However I have also owned most Shimanos from the SLX on up to the Bantam. Sold off most of them except a Curado K and a Chronarch Ci4+. Never tried a Met though. I was going back and forth between another Tat, and Alphas and trying a Met out, and while trying to see how much a Met was gonna be on APF, I accidentally ordered one. It’s the 2020 model 6.2:1 and I snagged it for $245 shipped. So pretty good deal I’d say. Can’t wait to get it in the mail lol

must have lure colors
Spinnerbaits I typically run some combo of white and chartreuse, swim jigs and chatterbaits I go white, green/blue, or black and blue depending on which forage I’m trying to match

$200 frog setup
On TW you could pick up a 7’4” H Tatula rod and a Lews LFS on sale. I like Dobyns rods, but the Fury line, especially the 735c, felt a bit too heavy in my hands for my taste. Balance is superb though you also can get a rebate form for a free Daiwa hoodie if you get the Daiwa rod
-
Top 6 HIGH-END Rods
Dobyns DRX755, ultimate jig rod. Can pretty much do everything you need with a heavy. I think it really excels with dragging football jigs. Light, balanced, and top end sensitivity Shimano Poison Adrena 7’3” MHRF, amazing moving bait rod. Used to have a DC734 as my “do it all” moving bait rod and the PA is on another level

Curado 200M or Tatula 80?
Yeah the only thing I’d be okay going lefty on would be a flipping setup since it would be beneficial in some ways. I’m probably gonna go ahead and get the Tat 80. The bait monkey is trying to get me to buy another Alphas or try a Met but I won’t get a free hoodie with those lol and it’s double the price

Lookin for a rod to handle grass jig fishing duties/light frogging
Haven’t tried any of the rods you’ve listed, but the DRX755 is perfect for what you are describing and is a phenomenal rod

Bait Aerodynamics/Air Resistance & Maximizing Distance While Minimizing Backlashes
Sometimes I go to the lake just to launch lipless crankbaits. 7’2” MHM LTB + Zillion SV + 12lb FC + Quake 70 is a joy to fish if I’m lucky a few fish are interested as well

Curado 200M or Tatula 80?
I’m a bit torn right now. I. Have a little over 50 bucks in Omnia credits burning a hole in my wallet and there are a couple of promos right now. I’ve narrowed it down to 2 options: Option 1, I get a Tatula 80 for $108 before tax, and a free Daiwa/Aftco hoodie Option 2, I get a Curado 200M for $98 before tax, but it’s a lefty and all of my reels are righty’s. It would likely go on my flipping stick. What route would you take? Thanks!

Daiwa Kage
One thing I’ve noticed about the HVF vs SVF is the HVF blanks seem thicker. My Rebellion (HVF) and BLX (HVF nano plus) are a lot thicker than my various Tatula (SVF) and Tat Elite (SVF nano plus) rods. All perform great and I’m sure the Kage rods do as well

Shimano Curado 200
Sweet thanks! I also have some omnia credits so I might just snag one too

Shimano Curado 200
I guess I forgot to chime in on this thread when it was started. I’m surprised the 200K got all the negativity it did. They aren’t the lightest or flashiest reel on the market but they are smooth tanks that stand the test of time. I throw A-rigs and sub 4oz glides on mine and it’s a beast for that. What’s the deal on the Curado Ms? I’m not seeing it on Omnia.

13 Fishing Concept Z Slide?
Well I snagged a like new 7.3 Tatula CT off of FB marketplace for $75. Probably gonna end up on my 7’2” H+F BLX for Magdrafts and Cullshads

Dobyns vs Kistler sensitivity
I find my DRX755 is a good bit more sensitive than my DX743. Both are sensitive. The Xtasy is lighter too IMO
