  1. My Ag teacher literally said " there is 2 holidays in November, veterans day, and the opening weekend of rifle season"
  2. A 7ft mh rod. 50lb power pro( adjust according to grass if present) and a 7 speed baitcasting reel. That should do it rod, reel, and line wise. Lure wise a chatterbait and t-rig/ swim jig should get it done! Good luck!
  3. Maybe I missed it on my Pflueger at home, but I haven't fished with it in a while due to the fact its single digits out lol
  4. My Grandpa purchased that reel on sale, but in the 20secs I held it I noticed the reel handle came out at little different angle then the base supreme. Not a big deal at all but thought I would let you know
  5. I have one, its good so with that deal go for it
  6. Well, just when I thought the collection was complete, I realized I might need an A-Rig/ big swimbait rod and reel. So can you guys let me know some r rods and reels that work for this? I have never thrown a big swimbait or A-rig before so have no info hardly at all. Also, I cant really give a budget as I don't know what's reasonable
  7. I got mine, love the reel super smooth, haven't caught anything yet, but I was able to throw a 1/8 oz rooster tail with the 150 and 12lb mono. I was throwing it on a dobyns champ 683. Good buy for sure
  8. Thanks to everyone, I purchased the 6 today
  9. Perfect, thank you so much!
  10. Yeah, but mostly when i throw cranks it is in ponds during the summer or early spring so fishing fast works most of the time, but i also can slow down pretty easy. Thank you!
  11. If i do use it for cranks it will be small KVD 1.5 or maybe a Rapala DT6. So that wont create to much of a problem right?
  12. I am going to purchase a Curado Mgl 150 from bass pro because I have gift cards, but they only have a 6:2:1 or a 8:1:1 gear ratio, no 7 speed as i would prefer. So which one? I will not be using it for any special technique just a all around reel. One thing I WON'T be using it for is frogging if that factors in at all. Thanks guys!
  13. Does anyone own this reel? If so, what is your overall thoughts on the reel? Was going to add one to my lineup of curados but thought I would ask you guys first incase it had something I should know about! Thanks!
  14. I looked around but couldn't find anything on the dobyns
  15. I am gonna throw a curveball in the mix, I have heard some people say that Berkley vanish is not good. But in all honesty I like the line, its good for cranking in my personal experience, not to say that's right lol. So maybe something out of the box to try
  16. Just a friendly FYI, they are back in stock on TW in the split grip. All models except the 6ft 8in medium heavy. Thought I would share as this is a steal at the current price!! Tight Lines!
  17. A regular chatterbait doesn't seem to snag that much, as the saying says, if ain't broke don't fix it. But it is a interesting concept
  18. Thanks everyone for your time and input, it is greatly appreciated!!
  19. 200 max but I need 2 possibly 3 new rods. Was just going to try these out
  20. I know that this rod has been discussed before, but I would like a fresh opinion. I need two good rods but I don't want to spend a whole lot of money. I don't tournament fish at all but I don't want a piece of junk rod, does anyone recommend this rod? I was gonna get two 7ft med heavy rods, one for moving baits and one for texas rigged plastics. So is it worth the money? Thanks guys!!
  21. I usually have mine set on 3. occasionally 2
  22. So I am about to purchase a Curado K, I was wondering if I should get the 7:4:1 gear ratio which takes up 31in per turn or the 6:2:1 gear ratio which takes up 26in per turn. I will mainly be using this for pond lures like chatterbaits, smaller crankbaits, and the occasional Texas rig. I have a 7:4:1 K already if that may influence anything. Thank you!!
