Power Pole
I am also thinking of getting a power pole. I am thinking of getting the blade series that goes to 10 ft. I have a 93 20' Skeeter and normally fish Lk. St. Clair and other inland lakes around Michigan. It seems to me that I see a lot of people having 2 of them on their boat. Why would I need 2 would only having one mean the boat would move with the wind and will I be able to use it on a boat that old or would I need some sort of adapter. Jenga

Circuit Breaker For 24 Volt Motorguide Trolling Motor
I am running a new electrical line for my 24 volt trolling motor. In my owners manual it says to use a 50 amp circuit breaker. Just wondering if you absolutely have to have a breaker and if so do I need to mount it somewhere in the boat. My mechanic told me to use a breaker that costs 60 dollars. I think that is really expensive, It is a blue sea 50 amp part number 661-7100. The one that Motor guide recommends is only 9 dollars here is the link to that one. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&xhr=t&q=motorguide+circuit+breaker&cp=28&qe=bW90b3JndWlkZSBjaXJjdWl0IGJyZWFrZXIgbQ&qesig=nDlNg2zGu635iNDAJkQbKw&pkc=AFgZ2tkLqDHycewOCZWULKMQ56Na61Y2yICMktfCkSz3qLp74cQdl6ljjZ49_scg0Rc7KxV7yq9ZYtsl4zT5KR8TCnqa4dOOag&pq=motorguide+circuit+breaker&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1366&bih=664&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=6648815746107116108&sa=X&ei=MvMlTreQKuK1sQLdl93dCw&sqi=2&ved=0CGQQ8wIwAw Here is the link to the Blue sea one. http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=726541&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&storeId=11151&storeNum=10109&subdeptNum=10598&classNum=11287 Which one should I use. Motorguide Trolling Motor Issues
So I got a voltage meter and tested the wires that connect to the battery and the wires to foot control to my trolling motor. The needle moved so I am assuming that it was getting electricity. Which makes me think the problem is in either the foot control or the trolling motor itself. What do you think.

Motorguide Trolling Motor Issues
Yeah your right. I meant to say fuse. so all I got to do is put that tester on the connections to the battery. thanks, Jenga

Motorguide Trolling Motor Issues
I have a pro series trolling motor and the last time I used it, it would run then shut off then run again. Now it wont work at all. I know the batteries are good and charged. I believe that I have 2 amps but don't know how to check to see if they are blown. Here is a picture of what I believe is an amp. If anyone can tell me if it is an amp and how to check to see if it is blown that would be great. I am trying a process of elimination. Thanks, Jenga.

Burt Lake Mi
I am heading up to my cabin, which is only a half hour away from burt lake and was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how to fish it for smallies. I will be going up there on June 27th-July 9th. Also how good is the boat launch, is it paved? Thanks, Jenga

Humminbird Transducer Problem
Thanks for all the info guys. I don't think I should have to pay more money for a thru hull transducer after I just spent 1k for it. But if I have to I guess I will. I was wondering though if I put it right next to those live well holes and make sure that the transducer is above the bottom of the boat will it be okay. Or do you think that the prop will cause to much turbulence for it to work properly. Thanks, Jenga

Humminbird Transducer Problem
I have had a problem with my humminbird transducer ripping off when I am on plane with my boat. I had a mechanic install it. I am thinking it is in the wrong spot or to low and is catching drag from the water. I have had it rip off 3 times now. I took it to another place and they told me to put it to just to the right of my live well hole. I thought it had to be atleast 15 inches away from the prop. Here are some pictures of where it is at now and the plug hole and live well holes. Will it be okay to put it next to my live well hole. my boat is a 93 skeeter DX. Thanks, Jenga

Jig Heads
I was thinking of making my own tube jigs. I was wondering how hard it is and how cost effective it would be. I can currently buy them for 3 for 4 dollars. Also where can you get the lead to make them. Thanks, Jenga

Drift Socks
Not really, all I can tell you is that you should have atleast an 8ft extension and a big enough one for your boat. I have never used the cabelas one (I hate Cabelas). I have two both are made by Lindy. I have one med. size and the biggest one they make. Hope this helps. Jenga

Drift Socks
I have a 20ft skeeter I use it all the time on lake st. clair. I can get my drift down to about 1.5 mph in heavy winds. I normally put two on in windy days but many times I use 1. when I use one I put it in the middle of the boat. If I use two I put one on the front cleat and the other on the back. Using a drift sock is the only way to fish Lk. St. Clair. Jenga

Best Cold Water Bait for Smallmouth
Ive fished with falcon and I can tell you he crushes them on the spinnerbait in the spring. I also like the spinnerbait but also would suggest a jerbait. I especially like the pointer 100 and staysee. Jenga

Humminbird 798 Ci
Hi I have the 798ci with side imagining and all the bells and whistles. I have had a problem with it. When Im fishing Lake St. Clair and hit a decent wave it shuts off so then I have to re start it. I had my mechanic look at the power supply cable and he said everything looks good and tight. It only happens when I hit a good size wave. Has anyone had this happen, I talked to them and they wanted to send me a new power supply or send the unit in. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks, Jenga

Trailer Question
I sometimes have problems loading my 93 skeeter when its windy out. The boat will sway from right to left. I have seen other trailers have things like bunkers or pvc pipe hold them in place. I cant find something that will work on my trailer. The frame of my boat is not a tube it is in a shape of an I. and the trailer has steps in front, back and over the wheels. There in lies the problem. Its hard to explain with out looking at it so I will get pics up when I get my boat back tomorrow. Thanks, Jenga

jerkbaits for lake st clair
I like both the Xrap and pointer. Last year was a tough year for the jerkbait bite. I never got many on them last year. I have also had some success with the Staysee. My favorite colors are ghost, pearl ayu and firetiger. I have not had very much success with pink. I can tell you one thing if you are fishing LSC in the spring bring lipless cranks, tubes, jerbaits and spinnerbaits. Jenga

Fluorocarbon with jerkbaits?
I use floro on everything except top water. I live in MI and mainly fish LSC. With clear water I would use floro on everything. It does help it get deeper but not by much. The main reason I use it is because of visibility and sensitivity. Jenga

tru tungsten swimbait
bought one used it a lot but never caught many fish with it. The last time I used it was when I had a 2 lb on it and the back half came off. Now I only have the head and mid section. Waste of 20 dollars I think. Jenga
