I have a 93 200hp Merc on my boat that I posted back in the fall that it siezed up. I had the engine rebuilt. The mechanic used some of the parts that were still good from the siezed motor. He told me in the fall that my regulators were ok but thought I should replace them before spring. My question is how important are they. If they go bad then I can always charge my starter bat with a trickle charger or on-board marine charger. Or are they needed, I have put alot of money into this engine and feel that I should probably replace but don't know if I should or not. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks, Jenga

Im not confused I know what an on board marine charger is but don't know which one I should buy. I have 3 batteries 2 for trolling and one for outboard. I also don't exactly know how they work other than you charge all 3 at a time. How does it keep them charged when Im on the water. Thanks, Jenga

I need help buying a on-board marine charger. I have to buy it at cabelas because I have a gift card for 200 and would like to buy a charger for my boat. I know nothing about them and would like to know how they work and if anyone could recommend one preferrably one cabelas sells. Thanks, Jenga

I would never buy a 15 bass boat. My first boat was a Ranger 17.9 with a 100 hp and I bought it for 1800. I now have a Skeeter and love the boat but it is 20ft. It looks good but it didn't say the year. If you are really interested in it make sure you get a compression test done and take it for a ride. 15 ft boat will be fine for most lakes but it will be tight with more than two people.

My bros and I are planning on fishing Lk. Erie sometime in the spring. Last year we had terrible weather so we mainly fished PIB. But got one good day on Erie. I was wondering if there are some good destinations on Erie that I could fish to catch some good smallies. I know people don't like to give up their honey holes but I am sure there are areas that everyone already knows about except out of staters. I am going to fish Erie, Pa this spring and we will probably be fishing erie rather than the bay unless the waves are to bad. Last year I noticed that the fish were down deeper then I expected and didn't have enough lures to get down that deep. I mainly fish LSC and that lake is on average 10 ft deep so most of my lures are at that depth or lower. Just wondering what are some good lures for Erie to fish and what depths should I be buying. By far the best color crank to thow in the spring is firetiger. I also like pearl mellon in the xr50 lipless works very well. Blue and sliver work great to but eyes and muskie like that color as well. Also if you get a chance hit the Nautical Mile BP on 9 mile and pick up some Wayne Carpenter tubes especaily the St. Clair craw. I got most of my fish on that tube this year. But he has a ton that work great. If you are going to fish the lake in the spring let me know I can take you out if you would like. If you have a boat then hit the mile roads in about 8 to 10 fow. Be prepaired for any weather because it can change real quick on LSC. Jenga

Mine was working fine as well. A few weeks ago I asked that same question on this web site and I had a bunch of people tell me to have it disabled but it was to late it already siezed up. I now have to have a reman powerhead assembly put in. I told my mechanic that I will mix my own gas from now on and I won't have that problem. It takes more time but so what better then having to go through this again. trust me disinable the oil injection ask anyone. Jenga

the first thing I would do is have the oil injection turned off and mix your own oil. I just had my 200 merc sieze up because of the tube though which the oil runs though break. Now it is costing me almost 6k to fix. jenga

I can't rebuild the power head in my 200 merc. due to the fact that the block is cracked. If the 97 225 merc. is corroded couldnt I take the power head from that and put it into my other motor. Thanks, Jenga
