Hi folks, looking for advise on running a trolling motor with lithium batteries on the Bass Raider 10E. The boat is new, need to decide on a motor and the batteries. For weight reasons as I age I'm thinking of going Lithium. I know I can't run full out on the motor with lithium, which is fine with me, I don't go far, the biggest pond I fish is 130 acres. All pf the ponds end up very weedy come summer, at which time I can swap back to a canoe. I currently fish from a canoe, where I spend most of my time anchored, only moving a 100' or so at a time, maybe going around the pond once, usually not. I go for roughly 6 hrs at a shot.
So my questions are, is it worth getting the 55lb motor as opposed to a 45 or 50? The price difference doesn't matter, more run time and weight. I'm also trying to decide between a 50/54Ah and a 100Ah battery. I'm figuring I can add another 50/54 if need be. What do you folks use, size wise.
Coming from an RV background, I had always heard to NOT run down an SLA battery more then 50%, as opposed to the Lithium's that can go down to 85% or so, aking a 100Ah SLA equal to a 50Ah Lithium. Does this sound right?
