Hey man, thank you, I found that very helpful. I just got my 6ft MH rod out of the closet to try this tomorrow. Do you think 6ft will be ok? I only have a 6"6 ML or 6ft MH. Senkos I've only been catching with 4" not 5" , so i'm a bit worried these 6" flukes are a bit too big, but we'll see =)

Hey, so I have some 6" fluke shad that I wanted some tips on how to fish and how to rig. I typically only fish plastic worms and what not, but I've seen some people using these with great success. I was looking on the fishing Articles and couldn't find anything.. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Not a bad fish at all! Yesterday was pretty slow for me too, 3 1lbers, and 1 2 1/2. Other then that, all day was slow as hell. Congrats on the one nice fish!

Just thought it'd be fun, maybe save a bit of money though I probably won't be good and end up keep buying baits! Is there a place I can buy 1 mold plate, and some basics to just experiment ? I saw Del Mart or whatever has a kit for Stiks for $108. I don't want to spend that much just to fart around :-/

I found one "Slightly used" pair for $65 well that's where the bid is at now. Any other name brands to check out on ebay that are good?

Ugly Sticks are GREAT for kids. I had one from 8-16, in fact I had 3 over that time span, and only because I left them places when I went on vacation and lost them... Never broke, always treated me well, and they can hold some pretty nice sized fish. As for real, I'm not good with that so I can't say. But Ugly Sticks are great for kids!

STRING CHEESE !! and MINI WHEATS!! That's what I have caught nice sized carp with. That and hot dog bun, but I see you've tried bread. Try and fat bunch of worms on a hook ? Or string cheese.

Putt'm in a plastic bag, and put the handles of the bag on the hook. That's the least harmful way.. Plastic bag won't make a big difference in added weight ;D

uh oh!!! I'm going digging in my backyard for worms to throw in my blender. Then i'll just put it in a jar and bring it fishing. I'll dip my plastics in there! Sweet!

I've been wondering the same thing. I want a cheap and highly effective swimbait that's good for beginners. maybe we can both get answers from this thread =)

Hey guys, I need some help picking out a pair of Polarized glasses, but not the cheap junk with no UV protection. I care about my eyes I looked on Cabelas, and BPS , are there any other places better? I don't have any good fishing stores near me that I know so I've been forced to shop online for most things. I'd like to spend no more then $50, but if I like a pair and they're nice nice nice, then I can do up to $75. Thanks very much!

hey thanks guys, and turtle, is that very accurate? I've been reading mixed things about the ones that are 20-30 dollars. I only found a few on BPS, I think the brkly one is on there that you're talking about. Some good and some bad reviews. How long have you had yours for?

I fished today, a small lake, it rained all last night, all morning till about 12 noon. I went right at 1pm and had a great day. The fish didn't seem affected what so ever by it. Still pretty active and lively. Senkos were a big hit today. Spinnerbait came up with 0, swimbait 0, Senko 4, Random plastic worm I found in my box 1 ! Hula Grub 1.

Jeezus, Sounds like the delta has been great fishing! Are there any shoreline fishing places there? Or just boat accessible? Some more gorgeous fish!

Hey, I've been fishing for years, but just this spring I've recently wanted to take it more seriously, meet other fishers, and fish more and more! I'm located in Oakland, are there any clubs near by, I saw a bit about the one Rohnert Park one, any others?

The camera is crap, and they are terrible pictures. It was much nicer in person, I want a real camera but I'm hardly able to afford GY products! How much would you say? Like I said, It felt very close to my 5.6 but it's much shorter, but has a much thicker head and body. I hooked him 2wice before and sat on him for an hour until I got him , 3rd times a charm =) I'm going to look on Google for a scale, any suggestions on good cheap ones? So we don't have to play this guessing game

Hey, yah I'm going to try this , but is there just the scent or does it only come in Dye? I don't want all my baits dyed I'm going to order one bottle of that though and try it on some of my baits =) How often do you guys apply the scent? Only once per day? Once per fish? Depending on casts?

I've never used any types of added scents, but figured It couldn't hurt and if anything, may help catch that one extra fish that wont' seem to bite. I've been looking around, but there are soooo many to choose from. What works best? I fish Norther California, and fish for 2-8lb bass with mostly 4 and 5 inch Senkos, Hula Grubs, and soon Jigs.. Any suggestions on what brand / scent to get?

So I went and got some Hula Grubs, Caught my first bass on one today! Not too big, maybe pound and half. I was fishing it on a C-Rig just fishing it pretty similar to how I fish plastic worms.. Any tips on jig fishing? I've never caught, nor spent much time using a jig head and any jig for that matter due to I really dont' feel too confident. What tips / retrievals would you suggest when using a jig with hula trailer, or just a hula with a jig head.. any help, videos that show how, or anything would be great! Thanks guys =)

I from just rough estimate would say it was at least 4 maybe 4 1/2 , It felt very close in weight to the 5.6Lb that's in my avatar, but the other one was much longer, this one was only 20 1/2 inches. The other one had a few extra inches, though this one had more of a belly. I'm so frustrated about the few that got off, I'm going back Friday
