  1. Which do you think is more productive? 6 am or 6 pm?
  2. Probably a sunfish or something. I just assumed it was a bass i guess
  3. I will be going fishing to a lake that i know has bluegill, largemouth bass, and chain pickerel. Where would you start?
  4. yeah, pretty much. Roboworms? I dont have those. But i do have what’s in the picture below and a1/8 jig head, would that work? you think up sizing could help?? I use my castable fish finder and it does pick up fish in the lake, but the 5” wasn’t cutting it today
  5. Ahhh ok so its the gain feature. I was wondering what that was. What is it anyways?
  6. Recently got a garmin castable fish finder, as someone on here recommended, and its awesome. I am still getting the hang of it, and definitely have seen some fish on it. However, sometimes what it shows is confusing, and doesnt exactly look like a fish but is clearly something. I took a bunch of screen shots of the sonar, and I will post a few to give a good representation of what i was seeing. The ones that look like an arch to me is clearly a fish, however i was also seeing a lot of other marks, like somethings the whole screen would be filled with dots, and lines. I dont believe i had my other rod out when i took those pictures, so its just whatever was under the water at my lake. I cant upload some of the photos because it says they are too big, but those are the ones that went through. Also, what is the long icon that looks like a fish kind of??
  7. Whats a good bait for smaller largemouth/smallmouth bass? I was using a 5” senko today and got a few bites, but just wasnt hooking up.
  8. Why would it take water from the lake though? Shouldnt it get enough from everyones toilets?
  9. Yeah i thought so
  10. One thing i have always wondered with those castable fish finders is what if it gets disconnected for any reason? Like the line snaps or the knot fails, what happens then??
  11. Lol, yeah i wouldnt eat any, but i dont really eat freshwater fish anyways
  12. Ahhhh i didnt even think of that. I assume the warm water isnt the best spot to fish when its summer though? And this lake definitely does have some good bass in it, i have not had any days on this lake where i catch big numbers, yet, but when i go i usually catch a decent bass. There are also tons of bait fish and i have noticed baby catfish and bass swimming around, so there should he healthy breeding populations in the lake
  13. Ok, so on one of the lakes that I fish is a water treatment plant, which has a pipe leading directly into the lake. Is that sewage being pumped into the lake? Water plant=sewage (or is their method of repurposing it good enough)
  14. Ok, ordered a garmin striker right before it went off sale, luckily, i hope you are right!
  15. Awesome!! I will have to scout out the lake and see if any spots match.
  16. Ahhhh. This unfortunately makes it difficult for me to target them because I only have bank access.
  17. Yeah carp are definitely pretty smart. Even though they hang out in big numbers if anything spooks them they gone. I have tried going for them a few times and only had luck once with bread, but i know a bunch of spots where they hang out
  18. I meant to include smb on the original post, just forgot. I know they are in there, i have seen pictures of people catching them in this reservoir. The lake is decently big, and spans across many different towns. It is sort of shaped like a football and has some spots that have rocks with others having sand. I have had luck with lmb on the sand, and i have found bluegill beds all over right on the shore. I have not fished any other sections much yet, but i will have to try the rocky parts.
  19. I fish in a lake that has many different species of fish, from catfish, carp, largemouth, bass, bluegill, sunfish, and some sort of a schooling baitfish that i have only seen once. But anyways, the carp are everywhere and i assume easy to catch, though i have never tried. The largemouth bite can be pretty decent, and there are good size ones in the lake. However i want to catch a smallmouth bass, but have not had any luck thus far. Is there any way to target them specifically? How would i go about doing that? Right now my go to bait is a 5 inch senko worm, which works well the the lmb. The lake is new to me, and i will be fishing it more over this summer, and hope to catch my first smb
  20. Is there much of a difference? I will look into it
  21. Anyone have experience with the deeper fish finder? The start specifically, its their cheapest, wondering how it is
  22. Some portions of the lake have overhanging trees on the water, which i think is the only real spot the bass can go without going deep. The middle of the lake is rather open, with 3 visible structures of rocks, but i obviously cant fish those deep areas. Anyone have luck going behind a tree directly on the water and casting under its overhanging branches? That sounds like a nightmare to me. The lake is big and borders a lot of towns, and the terrain is largely the same around it. They cleared a path and a few areas around the lake for fishing access but a lot of it is uncleared and is just woods right up to the water which i think is overall nice, but hard to fish from the bank.
  23. Unfortunately there is no depth map and the only access is on the bank. They dont allow kayaks but i am tempted to do it anyways. I figured once the heat of the day kicked in they went deep, is there any hope to catch them deep if i am able to get to them though? I will be going to a lake with kayak access and will most likely fish from early morning to afternoon/late afternoon, and will have to target different areas at different times. Also, is the bite reliable at night?
  24. Went fishing at a local lake. Did pretty good in the morning, but then once noon hits the bite dies down and doesnt pick back up. There are carp all over the place and some little baitfish along the shoreline, including baby bass, but no big ones. I use a texas rigged senko if that makes a difference, and i dont have a boat so i am restricted to thr shoreline. I have tried walking along the bank in search of shade and trees/structure but nothing paid off. Anything i should do different??
