Which Lews reel?
I am the OP. I already own the Hyper Mag. Just didn’t want to spend that much for this reel I’m buying.

Which Lews reel?
My hyper mag is pretty sweet, “higher end” if cost is indicative, and lighter. Probably put It on the better rod (Dobyns).

Which Lews reel?
Secondary question. If I buy the tournament pro, I’ll have It and a Team Lews Hyper Mag. Ill also have a Dobyns Champion extreme 745c (for heavier t-rigs and pitching) and the Falcon rod I already mentioned. Which would you put on which?

Which Lews reel?
I guess add Shimano SLX 150 for $88 and the Daiwa Tatula CT for $112 to the mix. I have a lot of CTs and like them, just like to try new things sometimes.

Which Lews reel?
This will go on a Falcon All ‘Round Fast (MHF) Rod with 15lb fluoro. Will be used for Light T-rig, weightless t-rig Senko, Swim Jigs, heavier Shakey, heavier drop shot. These reels are all very similar price online: Lews Tournament MP $132 Lews BB1 Pro $160 Lews KVD LFS $125 Lews Super Duty with flipping switch $159 Lews Tournament Pro $159 Not even sure the real difference in any of these. Thank you!

St. Croix Mojo Bass vs. Daiwa Tatula Casting Rod with Daiwa TW103
One of my favorite combos is my Mojo Bass 7’ MHMF (spinnerbait model) with that reel. I use straight braid and it’s my Chatterbait setup. Freaking nice.

looking for 600$ combo
I would get a Dobyns Champion extreme 745 or 746 and a Daiwa Zillion from digitaka. I have the 745 and the Daiwa Elite P/F and it’s amazing for pitching. Not enough line for bombing frogs imo though.

I’ll have to try that!

Swimbait/Large Spoon Fishing Line - Mono/CXX/Flouro?
I like 20lb red label fluoro for swimbaits and hi-vis 50lb braid to fluoro leader for magnum spoons so you can see the twitch on the fall.

Night fishing during the Dog Days of Summer
Tried night fishing for the first time the other night. Also was focusing on top water because I don’t throw them often and want to get more confident in them. Got a few bites at dusk but after the sun went down, nothing. I mentioned the top water thing because night might not have had anything to do with the lack of bites and more to do with me sucking at topwater. It was something though.

How much money have you spent on your fishing addiction?
Well I sold two rifles a few weeks ago for $3250 and I spent every bit of It on fishing stuff. That’s just in two weeks.

Need help simplifying to all Dobyns
Ordered the DX 745c full handle for pitching and the Maverick 734c for buzzbaits/spooks this morning.

Yes I over analyze everything.

Need help simplifying to all Dobyns
So I took that “weightless worm” rod back. It was just too flimsy for t-rig weightless senko and I like spinning for wacky. Plus I have the “Herm” that could be used for wacky senko if I wanted. My “All ‘Round” rods are perfect for me for t-rig senko and since I like my Team Lews Hyper Mag reel so much I put It on one of those rods and took off the Tatula CT. So now I have the Tatula CT and the Tatula SV Ltd that need rods. This is the plan- Fury 734c for super spooks and Buzzbaits. I don’t throw these too often so I’m going to stick to Fury line instead of spending extra on the Sierra. Honestly might go Colt depending on what Dobyns people say. I’ll put that Tatula CT on this rod. Currently trying to sell the Sierra 766 like I said. Once I do, I’ll get a Champion DC or DX. The Tatula Elite PF will go on this one. Still deciding on a rod for the Tatula Limited. Finesse jig falcon is a contender. Honestly might put It on the St Croix I own and use It for my chatterbaits. Then I would just sell the BPS Pro Qualifier. Then I’d be done lol!

Need help simplifying to all Dobyns
I want a lighter, shorter pitching rod than my Sierra 766FLIP (I labeled It wrong in this thread, it’s the 6 power). Was originally thinking Champion 705 or 735/6 but leaning towards the DX 745/6 now. Is the DX a lot lighter than the Sierra model I have? I’m 5’6” so wanted something shorter than 7’6”. The DX 745 is only 2” shorter. If it’s not much lighter then I’ll go regular Champion. Also what do y’all think about a Fury or Sierra 734c strictly for buzzbaits and super spooks? If that’s a good use, what line for that?

Need help simplifying to all Dobyns
That’s kind of what I was thinking. The Lews has 20lb drag and the Daiwa 11lb. So just checking.

Need help simplifying to all Dobyns
I know this topic has died but wanted to update. I took my weightless worm rod back. I now have the Team Lews Hyper Mag and the Daiwa Tatula SV limited reels without a rod. Does max drag matter to y’all when It comes to certain applications?

Palomar Hard as Heck for Me to Tie
Same issues with me and the palomar. Use It for drop shot only and wish I didn’t have to. I use improved clinch for everything and have my whole life and have never felt like It was a hindrance. That includes catching big snapper, amberjack, sting rays, and sharks, and big blue cats. So I decided a while ago when I got into bass fishing that an improved clinch can handle a bass.

Need help simplifying to all Dobyns
After reading all the replies and help on this thread I’ve decided to keep the mix I have. I got some good suggestions on things I can do with my current lineup, especially the Falcons. Kind of reinforced what I already had in mind for them. Still have the problem of adding one more rod to the arsenal for my extra Tatula SV. That falcon finesse jig looks good. Also thinking about a Dobyns Champion 734 just because. Not sure I really need anything. Maybe I just sell one of my cheaper reels I currently have and put the SV on that rod. One thing I do want to do is replace my Dobyns 765Flip with a pitchin stick in the 7’ to 7’3” range. 7’6” is too long for me.

Great answer. Thank you. My finesse jigs are 3/8 oz Dirty Jig Luke clausen, and I put a creature trailer. chatterbaits are always 3/8 oz jackhammers with magic Shad or zako trailer.
