I just bought two factory older Fuegos. I want to upgrade spool bearings, drag washers, and possibly change to a swept handle, which I think requires a new drag star. However, I have zero clue what parts I need, what’s compatible, if this is something I could do myself, etc. If anyone has a comprehensive list of exactly what I need (links would be mighty helpful) that would be great. Never bought in to that either. If It was a real problem, no one would buy them and companies would reengineer.

I would use 10lb braid to 10lb fluoro on the ML and use 1/0 roboworm rebarb hook, 3/16 to 1/4 weight. On the M I would use 20lb braid to 15lb fluoro leader, 3/0 rebarb hook, 3/8 weight. Little bigger bait on this one. Like 7” roboworm.

The Arid-x are really great for the $50 or whatever they were. Well worth It. They have really good power which I needed for getting fish away from the docks. I have yet to really fish the Tac 40. It feels nice though. I don’t fish spinning setups too often which is why I don’t have higher end for them. Had a berkley cherrywood before the tac 40 lol but It broke. Once I get all my casting needs met I’ll probably get a Whipsnake or 702 and a Vanford. Dobyns called me today and getting my replacement DX746 shipped. I’ll post up when it’s here.

I would try the smallest translucent fluke I could cast. Weightless.

I’m of the belief that if you find the fish, It doesn’t make much difference what you throw to a reasonable degree.

I’m a gear junkie so I love the rod, reel, line section.

Ok I see. I’ve never removed a spool from any reel I’ve owned so probably no problems there. I asked the guy this morning how long he’s had the reel. He replied: ”Probably a year give or take. I really can’t remember. I go through so much stuff. I only used it twice I think. It’ll sling a 3/8 oz Carolina rig. I just sold a bunch of rods and don’t have the rod I had it on anymore” Then I asked if he bought It new because I learned It was an older generation. He replied: ”I picked it up from one of my buddies who never used it” So we will see.

I don’t know what that means. Like is that a feature It doesn’t come with or is It missing It?

Dang I wish I knew that before I bought It. Figured It was new gen based on this comment by the seller: Lews Tournament Pro. TPG1XH. 8.3 gear ratio. Used one trip. Pretty old model to be used one trip ? I asked him what the difference in his and the one on discountfishing was since the model number is different. He said this: It’s actually a different model.
