Handled my first G Loomis today…
I can’t remember the model but that sucker was $720. I could be completely wrong but I can’t imagine It being THAT much better than my Dobyns DX (paid under $300) or my Destroyer (paid $300 which is the most expensive Rod I have). Maybe It is. I’ll never find out! Lol

Better Fluorocarbon Line
I’ve tried It. I thought I would save a little money and put 20lb basix on my swimbait reel. It’s too stiff and not as strong as red label or invisx. Took one trip to change It out. All my other reels are red label or invisx though so I had a point of reference. For a leader, which to me is 6’ or less, It would be fine.

Better Fluorocarbon Line
That stuff is crap. Definitely move up to invisx or fc sniper. You can’t really go wrong with either. Ford vs Chevy.

Getting back in to fishing have 150$ for rod and reel
The Fuego/Aird-X would be a great combo in that price range.

Weightless Senko. Tex-rig versus Wacky. logic choosing between them?
I prefer flipping It around texas rigged. I love swinging hard on the hook sets of a t-rig. 14 lb fc.

My Fishing Style is Changing
Pedal drive is what you need.

Fish Not Biting
I’m not a pond guy but high dirty water is shallow fishing time for me. Usually a t-rig creature bait.

Baitcaster drag slipping
I’m trying hard to visualize how this has anything to do with the drag not working and the spool turning.

Leader?
Straight mono, no leader needed.

Cabin/river vacation suggestions
Hi all, two summers ago we went to Missouri and stayed at the Shoalnook Cabins on the James River. Very basic, fish camp, rustic type cabins. https://shoalnook.com/photo-gallery/ We have three kids (16, 12, 11 now) and absolutely loved being able to wake up and go outside and swim and fish all day. We caught a lot of small spots and smallmouth. We are looking to do that again but we decided this last minute and Shoalnook is booked the rest of summer. So I’m looking for suggestions on something that sounds similar to that. Middle of no where is a plus. Must be on a swimmable/fishable/wade-able stream or river. Must be north within 6-10 hours of Texas. $100-$150 a night. Thanks!! Sorry, Texas is huge. I’m in the Fort Worth area. 6-10 hours from there a plus. Galena, MO where those other cabins are was 7.5 hours.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Wednesday 6/29 (last time I’ve been out) took the kids to Possum kingdom. Caught 10 in a few hours I think. All on Weightless senko in submerged trees in 15’ water. The kids each lost one. Sorry, I don’t know why my pictures are so grainy in here. They are fine on my phone.

Grass Fishing
I would throw Chatterbait and weightless senko. Probably a weedless rigged keitech underspin as well.

B5 or sleeper gill- eagle claw hook eyes not fully closed, there's a gap!
Yep trokar are the only eagle claws I’d use.- Unique markings on largemouth
It’s true- Losing lures
I wish i had an idea on the line snapping in the spool but I really don’t know what’s going on there.- Losing lures
Yeah you have to get a lot of tension sometimes to cinch It down. Has to like fold back on itself. That’s not right but if you tie this knot you know what I’m talking about. Sometimes I’ll grab the hook with pliers or hook It to something and wet and pull. No slip.- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I’m going to order some of those Geecrack Gills soon. They look awesome! Got this lot for $60 today brand new. (I took them out of the package).- Losing lures

That Tatula XT casting rod I bought from this deal thread is the 7’ Med Fast, 1/4-3/4, 10-17lb line rating. The XT spinning rod is the 7’3” MH Fast. I know no other information on It. If you’re familiar with these rods, what would you use them for?- Show off your Stuff

Does anyone else’s ocd kick in when they see a swimbait with eyes on a jig head with eyes?- Losing lures
I don’t buy that first part at all. I’ve used improved clinch on every line type, including Braid, from 6lb to 80lb, and caught bluegill to 250lb sharks. For 30 years. Wet the line, cinch down, and the knot will be just fine. I don’t think this is a knot failure. Well maybe, but not in the traditional sense. I think the line is dug in the spool and the stopping action on the cast is snapping It, like you said. Btw I’ve found several knots tied in the middle of a new spool of power pro before. Watch for that.- Show off your Stuff
One of these days when I have a shop I’m going to steal that mounted rod holder idea! - Light Swimbait Recommendations
