Daiwa Coastal TW80
I have the jdm zillion. It’s great. Was specifically looking for an inshore reel for a reds/trout setup (but something I could use for bass when not at the coast). I think I like this reel for that.

What would you use these rods for?
I have zero need for these but the deal thread got me. They just came in. Rod 1 - Tatula XT casting, 7’ MH FB (I don’t know what FB is but it’s a F action), 1/4 to 1oz lure, 10-20lb line. Rod 2 - Tatula XT spinning, 7’3” MH Fast, 1/4-3/4 oz lure, 8-17lb line. If I use for bass, what techniques would you guys use on them? The other option is to put a Penn Battle II spinning reel I have on rod 2 with 20lb pp, 15lb fc leader, and get a Daiwa Coastal for rod 1 with 15 lb fc and have two setups for the few times I go to the coast for trout and reds. They would not see much use though. What do y’all think?

So this or the coastal 150 sv?

Current "best" Daiwa Swimbait Reel?
Biggest swimbait I’ll ever throw is a 7” plastic with 10/0 beast hook. Not sure the weight but it’s not a monster. My setup doubles for a-rig as well. I use the Tatula 150p. I wouldn’t hesitate getting the 300 if I threw bigger baits though.

What Line Do You Use With Senko's?
I have three setups I like to throw Weightless t-rigged senkos on. Two have 15lb invisx one has 14lb jdm Sunline fc.
-
are you rubbing your soft plastics to dull them?
I’ve never heard of this being done on purpose.

That’s awesome. I was a little bummed that’s there’s only 3 big ones in the package. So hopefully they last.

Are slightly swollen plastics any good?
I feel like the fish don’t care.

Better Fluorocarbon Line
Got a free spool of the Daiwa Samurai fluoro at the Classic a few years ago. It’s super nice. Feels more like a copoly to me as far as touch goes. Really soft and thin.
