  1. After going back and looking at your OP, I see you're using #1 hooks. I would go to at least 1/0 hooks, maybe 2/0, for better hookups. If that doesn't help, maybe just avoid trebles altogether
  2. Yes, Roland Martin did a video where he was catching bass in Florida on dead shiners. He said it was revolutionary at the time. I tried to find the video but he has so many
  3. Could be good for open water froggin and along weed lines
  4. Have you guys tried the Lake Fork trailer hooks? https://www.basspro.com/p/lake-fork-trophy-lures-frog-tail-hook?hvarAID=shopping_googleproductextensions&ds_e=GOOGLE&ds_c=BPS|Shopping|PMax|Fishing|HighMargin|NAud|Google|NMT&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwwe2_BhBEEiwAM1I7sX3BkOTBs3Dfut4VPJC7po26Miz2-Yc9PXNugMcnPZyhbc7imMBrHRoCqEMQAvD_BwE
  5. My buddy is addicted to the Choppo, bout all he throws anymore. I want something without trebles so I can throw it in the slop
  6. I learned this trick from Bill Dance. Makes the lure more weedless. Just gotta let em take it good before striking https://youtu.be/j6HuL00OaCg?si=owryI3qfKafyjuyy
  7. I feel that, I gotta bad back too, luckily I have a good chiropractor. Looks good with a jerk every second, stays right at/under the surface. I just ordered some SK Super Toads for sale on Amazon, they have little paddle feet. Also have a couple Booyah pad crashers. If you guys have any recommendations for good frogs please chime in. The Spro frog looks good.
  8. I have a pack of Rage Toads from a few years ago I found and the action on the legs doesn't look very good. Could the baits have gotten stiff from sitting too long?
  9. They're already working on something more advanced than ffs, guaranteed. Will probably tell you the species and weight before you even make a cast
  10. Heavyweight BASS Fishing Record Broken by Paul Elias Part 1. Take into account that he caught way over 132.5 lbs, that's just what was weighed https://youtu.be/JQaDcqt2weM?si=VDcgGpmSUq1_lopb
  11. Not sure if Guido Hibdon was mentioned, but definitely a legend https://www.bassfishinghof.com/inductee/guido-hibdon
  12. Actually I don't believe fish can smell Powerbait plastics, though we can for sure. Power bait works when they bite it and taste it and hold on longer. Why I will apply some Pro Cure if not getting bites. Maxscent will release scent and have the powerbait taste. And Gulp is water soluble, but I don't really use Gulp because it just sinks like a rock and doesn't have the bouyancy of plastics. But yeah, just bring some water almost to a boil, and swirl the tail around until it gets soft and kind of sticks to itself
  13. Guy was so old a lot of people probably haven't heard of him
  14. Dude was born 1915, lol
  15. I have found with the 10" Power worms if you dip the tails in almost boiling water for 10 or 15 seconds they get softer and have better action
  16. Wow, just looked him up, truly a legend https://www.bassfishinghof.com/inductee/buck-perry
  17. Butch Brown has caught some toads
  18. That's how you do it!
  19. Man I don't know, good thread
  20. When my dad and I would clean bluegills and throw the guts and heads on the tomato plants, they went nuts
  21. I rotate between 5 ponds and if they're biting on one I'll stay until they quit
  22. Come fish with me, haha
  23. If you're concerned about strength by diameter checkout Trilene XT
  24. Just know that possession is what matters, doesn't matter where they came from. My state has a 5 fish limit for lm bass per person, with 2 allowed over 14 inches per day I believe. If you get caught with 100 bass, you could face stiff penalties
