There are numerous books from the North American Fisherman Club related to bass, I would recommend them. My buddy gave me a book from his grandad, catch fish anywhere, anytime, and even though it's dated, has taught me a lot. The nature of a bass remains the same even with 1 million different lures available nowadays. And the enternet honestly sucks for good info, books reign supreme https://www.ebay.com/itm/405216708237?chn=ps&mkevt=1&mkcid=28&google_free_listing_action=view_item

Mayo's Hand Poured Baits
Hit one of the pond's today armed with a plethora of plastic worms, started with the Powerbait Nightcrawler and Mann's 12 jelly worm. Got a couple bites but no hookups. Got a pack of Roboworm's today and threw one on a 3/0 Gamakatsu offset rb worm hook weightless, and caught a 3, a 2, and was swimming the worm on the surface and a 5 lber slurped it up. All 3 caught on the same worm, still good for maybe one more fish. Will definitely keep a Roboworm tied on from now on. Also got to see the albino carp

Mayo's Hand Poured Baits
Just checked their site had this posted: As this year is coming to a close, we announce that Double ZZ Custom Lures is also closing its doors. As all good things come to an end, we are are looking forward to new beginnings. We have decided to prioritize our time with God, family and fishing. In that order.. We want to thank everyone from East coast to West coast for your tremendous support and patronage. From the newest customer to the repeat customers who have been with us since the beginning and who have made us who we are today. It has been an honor and a pleasure serving you. We wish each of you the best. Have fun, be safe and God bless you always. I've also read Don Livino's and Upton's are good but not sure if they're in production either. But if you say Roboworm's are good I might settle on those. They look great

Catching big fish: Luck or Skill?
The saying is, putting time in on the water will net big fish

Circle hooks should help prevent that

I'm one of those people, lol. I know it works, I just don't want to throw it. So if a guy is slammin em next to me with it, will I slap one on? Maybe, but I have no confidence in it, because it doesn't suit my style of fishing, which is generally chuck and wind. Many have been stubborn towards a lure, color, etc., and missed a lot of fish over the years. But I can guarantee without confidence in what you're throwing, your results may not be good. But confidence in a lure is gained by putting the time in to throw it and catch fish on it. Roland Martin told Gary that if he released the Senko to the public his company would fail, lol. I've seen Roland catch so many big bass on Senko's, I gotta learn how to use them

Remove Hooks from Deep Hooked Fish with Minimal Harm
I bet a wacky rig under a slip float would be deadly, might try it

Shaky head, neko rig, drop shot rig
I saw a member on here say they've caught more bass on straight worms than curled, and large bass. I've always used u tail/curly tail worms and saw the Powerbait Nightcrawlers were selling a lot on Amazon so decided to try them. Caught a nice bass first time out on a 3/0 Gamakatsu worm hook weightless, skipped under the dock, skipped really well. This presentation is good in shallow water, and difficult for them to resist. The straight tail has more of a slithering action which looks very tempting. These worms absolutely reek but I will be using them until they don't produce

Remove Hooks from Deep Hooked Fish with Minimal Harm
Watched this a while back and tried it today, worked well, no harm to the fish. If you fish with worms or stick baits a lot it's common for bass to eat it like food, so this is a good trick if your bass eats your worm hook. I caught one that had a hook in its gullet before I learned this, it's belly was shrunk and looked sick

Might be a good idea to keep a pair of these on hand, just in case. If the barb is buried then that's a different story. But if you can pull the barb through these should easily snip the hook to remove with ease. Or just pinch the barbs and risk losing fish https://www.amazon.com/Booms-Fishing-inches-Hook-Cutter/dp/B0777GK3HB/ref=asc_df_B0777GK3HB?mcid=02b2db976edd361c9957081cdc1b299c&tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=693769151198&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14067737166275008099&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9009740&hvtargid=pla-585007841218&psc=1

Learning to fish Bass (Boat)
If you can attain 3" to 4" live shiners or minnows you can use a Thill slip float rig and catch some nice fish. Also dropshotting live or artificial nightcrawlers can be deadly, also under a float. You can also catch little sunfish for live bait, and place under a float. I recommend live bait because it's what fish eat and can give q better chance at catching. I was fishing at one of my usual ponds earlier and had a little Power nymph on my UL rig fishing for crappie, when a 24" bass comes up trying to eat a bluegill after my lure. I immediately went for my live bait rod and caught a gill, but was a little big. Caught another and put it on and had a good take down but no hookup. But good fresh live bait can really increase your chances for some good action, imo

its official. I think Bass fishing is my favorite hobby.
Bass under 2 lbs are good to keep and fillet, and helps stunted populations in smaller bodies of water
