  1. The Bucca rat looks killer
  2. Yeah, I got rid of the bobber, tail hooked and just lobbed out but little bluegills kept getting it. There was a nice bass busting top but he didn't go for it. Maybe not my cup of tea, every year I buy some and use them and don't catch any bass, and don't buy anymore. I got some left I'll try again with just a little split shot. Caught 2 dinks and missed another on a Senko so I'm going to keep playing with them, and got my Rapala shallow shad rap tied on for topwater. And not sure how well they do in warm southern waters, maybe more of a cool water bait
  3. I've yet to catch a bass on a nightcrawler, but not giving up. 18 DMF crawlers are right at $5 at walmart, a 7 pack of Senko's is $5. I'm using a slip float rig with a snelled circle hook, should I hook once through the middle like a wacky rig, or hook through the head? Any tips on using nightcrawlers for bass is appreciated
  4. What's up with the NED rig, do you just hop it on the bottom? Saw where a guy caught a 70 lb blue cat on a NED rig
  5. Just swim it Swim this through the water column, something will smack it
  6. I would gravitate towards the styles of fishing you prefer. I saw a log laying in the water the other day at a pond. I said If I can get a good cast over that log, ill catch a bass. I was using a weightless Roboworm fat, sure enough I caught a bass. So the question often arises, was it the lure, or my precise cast, that caught the fish?? So play to your strengths, get really good at those, then play with other stuff. There's just too many lures, too many ways to catch bass nowadays, you simply don't need it all. Go with what you like to fish with and catches fish
  7. Was about to recommend a t rigged junebug curly tail worm
  8. Just keep slangin bro. I've lost a dd twice at one pond, well over 10 lbs. Stay positive and you'll get her one day. I've caught the same bass 3 times a couple years ago, then I caught the same bass twice this year, on a worm and then on a shallow crank. They'll bite again Still wish they made these Yo Zuri wake baits

  10. Oh yeah, it's highly weedless. Just make sure to rig it right like in the video above. You want a downward bow in the back, not upward. This will help it to stay upright on retrieve. A lot of reviews say they use weighted hooks, I would stick with just a hook, though the weighted hooks might still work well
  11. I have not tried the Horny Toad, but have watched a tacticalbassin video showing the differences in various toads/frogs. I really like the Rage Toad, even though I've yet to catch anything with, but I've barely used it. It can be swam slowly on top, quickly on top for a ton of chop, and one way a lot if people might not use it, twitch it under the surface. It's very bouyant and takes a while to get down. Another use could be letting it sink a while then work it through thr water column. I'm keeping it tied on until I catch fish on it
  12. I've never really been into topwater, which is odd I know because a lot of people bassfish for top. I've always considered ot a low percentage hookup method, and I hate missing bites, but the more I've learned I want to incorporate it into my arsenal. What if topwater is the best way to catch them that day, though it might be a rarity? Then I need to know how to catch em on top. Plus those blowups are just awesome. And can show you where fish are
  13. I have't tried walleye but crappie is the least fishy tasting, very mild. Bluegill also delicous. Might try some white bass this year if I catch any. Cut out the bloodline
  14. If fishing for smallies I would check out the Bobby Garland Slab Hunt'r. It's a crappie lure coming in at 2.25", but I have not seen a bait with the action of this one. The tail moves at all speeds, I have Junebug Chartreuse and Live Minnow. I pair with a crappie magnet double cross jig head with the collar trimmed off. Swims perfect
  15. If it's mushy soak it in some salt water to firm it up. Under 2 lbs are recommended

  17. The red eye's are meant to flutter on the fall so may be better with a stop and go retrieve
  18. My buddy has caught some nice bass on a red eyed shad
  19. Caught from bank in January a few years ago on a Rapala purple glass shad reeling super slow Wow, I know you can't wait to hit the 10 lb club
  20. Hit one of the ponds earlier with the Rage Toad and a Senko. The toad is awesome because it's highly bouyant, more bouyant than a Rage Craw, even though it weighs more. So it can be twitched every second or so like a frog under the surface, or can be steadily retrieved on the surface for an awesome chop. And it's highly weedless with a 5/0 ewg hook. I actually used a 5/0 RB hook and just used a sharp knife to cut a slice in the line on the belly for better hookups. Have not caught anything on it yet but sure I will. I've read if you miss a topwater strike that following up with a Senko will often get bit. Caught my first Senko fish today, I think I'm figuring out how they work and how to use them. Only reason I would take a Senko over a Roboworm is it's heavier and cast better. But think I'll love both https://youtu.be/ibVva8O532U?si=WBy0pAAGe97hhgM1
  21. Haha, show that to catfisherman that make fun of bass thumb
  22. I just use a 1/4 oz tungsten bullet weight
  23. Boiled the frog legs, haha, and they're really soft now. I haven't used these much but remember they would kick on top with a steady retrieve and didn't seem to be doing that as well. But my plan for using them is to just twitch right at/below the surface like a frog, should be productive
