Do you guys say fishing prayers ?
Yes I do when hunting and fishing , You need ask in the right way ....and be careful what you ask for, For instance I was night fishing for bass a few nights ago and catching small ones , I asked please just let one big bass bite . Well it did and it was real big just how big I dont know because it broke my line . I wish I would have asked to land a big bass now :-?

catfishing
Well I like to use cut bait like cut bream or shiners for blues and channels and live bream for Flatheads I use basically carolina rig with a 2 or 3 ft leader and I put a small float about 4 inches from the bait it floats your bait off the bottom that way and the cats see it and eat it good

Panfishing in Southeast Florida- Pics!
Hey gotta love it ,my biggest bass I have caught in FL came from Dover park it was over 10 pounds on a plastic worm , I was fishing by the base ball field side just down the lake about 100 feet from an areator they have in the lake. I caught several bass out of there on shiners over 5 lbs, It holds some big bass for a small lake. And its catch and release as well , You ever heard of anyone catching a snook in there? I fished it several times with shiners and never caught one sorry to get off topic guys here are a couple average Dover Pond bass and the one in my avatar is also

Schooling bass
Yeah Gatrboy you might be onto something with the comment about low water this lake when full is 22 acres its down about 2 feet so its lost a lot of shoreline possible spawning areas . Luckily it has some 20 to 30 feet holes for the bass to get down in. Mdgreco I guess it wasnt a good day for fishing anywhere I only caught 4 bass in 2 hours today , And the topwater bite shutoff overnight here . But its been doing that all year one day they will slam topwater next day nothing. I caught mine chunking a 1/2 oz shad colored rattl trap over the deep holes , the biting bass here must be suspended over deep water. I saw several right at the bank within 5 feet of me today and they had lockjaw. Saw one about 5 pounds come swimming out of a culvert pipe right in front of me.

Are you surprised ???
I have caught 2 bass over 10 pounds both came from ponds/lakes under 10 acres and both were caught fishing from the bank. The first was an 11 pound 1 ounce bass caught in a 4 acre pond in the mountains of NC caught off a number 10 hook and a 1/2 nightcrawler . And I hooked it 2 times in less than 20 minutes . I was bream fishing and saw it spawning. I threw a nightcrawler in its bed and watched it eat. I set the hook and it fought for a minute and I thought the line broke but it was the hook that broke right at the bend. Well about 10 minutes later it was back so I cast back in the bed and it bit again . that time it just shook its head a couple times and give up . No real fight. The next was a 10 1/2 pounder off a culprit worm near Tampa Fl . No real fight to it either it couldnt jump out of the water it shook its head on top a few times and give up.

Do Roofers count??? LOL ;D I have been Contracting Residential Roofing for about 16 yrs now and am getting burned out on it. I do lots of framing and home renovations now . I have done everything in the building of a house from the ground up with the exception of wiring and plumbing and have done a little bit of that as well

So... We all love buzzbaits...
Maybe the skirt represents a bluegill and the blade represents a minnow being chased by the bluegill

Panfishing in Southeast Florida- Pics!
I caught it off a tiny hook like maybe a size 16 and a doughball the size of a pea. I was fishing for shiners with a bait rod when I caught it. There are 2 lakes I bass fished outside Tampa that are full of Placos. One place is called Medard Park its a good bass lake also . The other place is a small lake but has monster bass , Its Dover Park in the town of Dover FL Both those places are over run with the plecos and tiliapia

Schooling bass
Well these friggin bass havent spawned yet !!! I have a high population (over population)in the lake I fish . I kept 2 bass last night one about 3 pounds the other 4 or better. I figured they were spawned out by now but when I was filleting them they both had eggs that were no where close to being ready to be dropped. This amazes me the lake water is WARM . I dont have a thermometer but when I clean the grass off my lure it feels warm from being in the water . I cannot beleive being this far south that these bass werent even close to spawning yet.

Manns Jelly worms

Manns Jelly worms
I used to fish with them all the time , does anyone know where they can be found in any stores? Does Bass pro shops carry them? I have seen them online but I dont have a credit card to order them online. Have any of yall ever fished with them? The original Grape was my favorite

Anyone use FLW (WALMART PLASTICS)
- Good Plastic for a Beginner
Well call me old school but if you ever find some Manns Grape Jelly worms (purple color) they work great . I caught thousands of bass on them but I cant find them in stores no more I now like 7.5 inch culprit fire and ice colored worms they are a red and purple color with a metal flake color I will add a pic of the culprit when they hit it it will feel like a tap tap on your rod , also they will hit a worm while sinking so watch your line if it moves faster than the normal sinking rate a bass often has it- Panfishing in Southeast Florida- Pics!
I caught that one over near Tampa in a pond . I was fishing with bread trying to catch shiners for bass bait. And I dont recommend handling them either . They have sharp scales that can cut your skin. I havent seen them over here on the east coast of FL but over towards Tampa I found them in several lakes. I had a question on the panfishing . I hear of yall catching blue tiliapia . What do you use to catch them on ? I could never get them to bite nothing.- Skinny Bass
I see lots of minnows here as well and the bass feed on them but they are small minnows under an inch long. I think the bass expend more energy catching these small minnows than they gain from such a small meal Do you have structure for bass in your lake ? The lake here has no structure no trees around it its all mowed grass , And its clear water , Also there is very little underwater grass because its stocked with grass carp. I think this lack of structure has a lot to do with the bait fish not being plentiful because they have no where to hide. But I am far from any kind of expert just going on what I have seen here, so I am curious as what to do myself . All I know is to keep a few bass to reduce their numbers and let the biggest healthiest females live for good breeding stock.- Panfishing in Southeast Florida- Pics!
I caught this in a Fl lake I think its called a plecostimis .- 1st crankbait
Well its all ok ,Apology accepted . Now back to crankbaits topic- 1st crankbait
Yeah Ceph I do . The bass in the lake I fish are over populated ( I think)if you look at the first pic above you will see what I mean. Or in the skinny bass topic in General bass fishing They appear to be starved to death any suggestions would be helpful as far as to why the bass are so skinny in my lake . :-? All I know is they are over populated and there seems to be no forage fish in my lake . I cannot catch a bluegill or shiner at all in my lake. So I like to eat fish as well as my girlfriend does so we catch a limit every couple weeks to eat. BTW I dont keep the largest females . And dont keep them all , Its nothing to catch 10 bass per hour here. I caught 17 in just over an hour the othernight and didnt keep any .- Skinny Bass
I have the same problem in my lake I fish here in FL its 22 acres and the bass have sunk in bellies and some are pitiful looking. I feel that there is no bait fish for the bass in my lake I cannot catch bream or shiners in the lake . Some bass are fat and healthy but 4 out of 5 look like they are starved to death. they should be fat and healthy in a newer lake like yours , the lake I fish is about 25 years old. Possibly the bass are over populated or there isnt enough food for them I will add a pic of one its not a good pic but it has a sunk in belly and actually had a crease where its belly should be bulged out. There is a few more pics of some skinny bass in my members challenge pics.- 1st crankbait
The Baby Minus is a good nighttime as well I caught 17 bass between 12:30 and 2 this morning here are a few pics A spawned out female the average size of the night inhaled- 1st crankbait
I bought a Manns Baby Minus crankbait for shallow water cranking today . I took it out and had 4 strikes in about 15 minutes of fishing it one bass was a nice one 5 pounds or better . I liked the action and rattle sound of the lure , the only problem was the hooks that came on it were dull so I need to change them .- Bass on the beds
A 7.5 inch culprit fire and ice color worm. Call me silly but a 1/2 of a live nightcrawler on a small strong hook is unbeatable when they wont bite nothing else. - Good Plastic for a Beginner
