  1. I went out on a nuisance gator call expecting to catch a gator and ended up getting this 5 ft 6 inch caiman out of a local lake
  2. I use a special 4 prong weighted hook to snag them with and 200 lb test braided line
  3. 64lb catfish from SC
  4. That is a nice gator here is a 10 ft 1 inch gator I caught on rod and reel . They are a heckuva fight when you hook them in the tail
  5. We are supposed to have high winds and rain this weekend it will make for tough fishing . I wish you luck and look on a map for the catfish creek area it should be holding some reds
  6. > What you did was illegal I am not the police but I still wouldnt broadcast that you did this . I catch nuisance gators for a living. It requires a special Permit and agents license. Relocation doesnt work with gators they can find their way back from over 200 miles. Also what you have done is educate this alligator about people . Now he will be harder to catch next time when he becomes a problem. Thanks ! I can go on and on with the things people do wrong about gators . When you find another that is a problem call 1-866-FWC-GATOR and your countys trapper will take care of it . You could get fines and possibly time in jail for doing what you did. Just remember that next time OK baby Gators are not fun ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ I made the news a few days ago , we got a problem gator call and had to catch a small gator out of a swimming pool. here is a video clip. The little guy was tough to run down in a pool we didnt wanna set the hook in him with the fishing pole because it might puncture a lung so I waited till he came up for air and got him with a rope http://www.wftv.com/video/14228019/detail.html Here is a 9 1/2 footer that was relocated to the meat processor When did I say the gator was a nuiscence? It was just a baby gator. I dont see why you would call the law. If I had a gator that was a problem I would call a professional. Baby Gators in this area are already used to people... if that matters. I guess you were never a kid once that was fascinated by florida wildlife? well you missed my point I am not in law enforcement and I am not calling the law . I trap / have to catch alligators that get used to people and lose their fear of them. Its a tough job nothing like you see on TV . The more they get caught on fishing poles or caught by people then released the harder they are to catch when they need to be removed and they also become aggressive towards people . And yes I am fascinated by Florida wildlife everyday. and I am also saddened when an alligator or wildlife has to be killed because people thought it was cool to feed or mess with them. Now back to topic I caught this little guy at Haulover canal a few days ago
  7. i just moved there from Vero A short while back . Thereare soem good places around the refuge area I dont have a boat so I fish where I can but a couple good areas are Eddys Creek , and Peacocks pocket . I caught one red this afternoon that was undersize . but I was fishing for mangrove snapper at a bridge and it was not an intentional catch. Basicially what you have to do is scan the flats and look for deeper holes if you have a boat . And follow the mullet. I would love to go I dont have a live well to use . I have a Gheenee and john boat and a kayak but no livewell. I also can get the inside scoop on where the reds are at. My girlfriend works at a Boating place and knows the guides they tell us where they are at sometimes I dont really care for redfish a whole lot .When I was growing up they were a trashfish and we never kept them. To me they are the carp of the ocean . Sure they eat topwater but they are mostly bottom feeders. But I guess they area good sportfish and sure are popular now

  9. I am thinking about it , I have been catching lots of reds near the Titusville area , actually right in Titusville past the Garden street bridge and also Haulover Canal . The benefits for the Hunt for Reds tourney are going to a local guide to help his kids . It should be fun

  11. I caught one of these this weekend in saltwater they are pretty common here at times
  12. Alligators make a stream of bubbles when your fighting them on a fishing rod , But I dont think they are in PA ;D I would say like the others gases ,turtles ,or carp
  13. Ok guys where are the snook?
  14. A plecostimis is my strangest freshwater fish I have been catching lots of strange saltwater fish like sea robins and various others I will have to take pics of them
  15. I looks like an Oscar , It has strange color for an oscar . You need to start a big fish tank
  16. Happy Birthday to all of ya and good fishing. mine B day is Friday , I am going out on a night Kayak fishing trip to Mosquito Lagoon
  17. For grass carp Ficus berries like Boca said or even white bread . I catch grassies on white bread. I have caught common carp on everything from nightcrawlers to gold spoons. I caught a few carp in lake Jocassie SC trolling gold spoons 50 feet deep over 300 feet of water . I was trolling for brown trout and kept catching 8 to 10 lb carp I use to fish carp tournaments in NC here is a bait I used But it takes a few ingredients. Get some ground troutchow . A box of sugar pops (cereal) and they make a strawberry flavoring , mello fruit, butternut are also my favorites . Get the troutchow wet it with water and some flavoring . get it wet enough just to make a loose doughball. Put a sugar pop on your hook. Form a large doughball around your hook , Over the sugar pop with the troutchow. Cast out and let sit. The troutchow will dissolve in the water putting off scent and exposing the sugar pop . the carp cannot resist that and will suck up the sugar pop and run with it. If you cannot find the flavoring it will work with out it. And catfish chow will take the place of trout chow also Also you can use millet and Karo syurp and flavoring to make a dough ball And cooked rice and flavoring also makes a good bait but be sure to make a tight enough ball around the sugar pop to cast it but loose enough to crumble away on the bottom exposing the sugar pop here is a rough drawing( in the link below )of the rig I use for carp keep the leaders short off of the 3 way only make them 4 or 5 inches http://www.carpanglersgroup.com/ncpaylak...
  18. It was tasty I rate it right with Mahi mahi , we grilled it it was great white flaky meat. I caught everything but a snook :-/ Jacks , bluefish mackeral and snapper . I saw a few oversize snook caught Saturday but Sunday the bite was slower on snook but the reds were going crazy most of them were slot size reds too. That snook was quite a fight she only had 12 lb line and it was trying to get under the pilons under the jetty and the surf was rough everytime a wave came in I held my breath. She is lucky or good or something, her first largemouth bass was over 6 pounds
  19. A 64 lb Flathead Catfish out of Santee Cooper was my biggest fish , My biggest catch was an alligator they really fight it takes both hands on the rod and you reel when you can!
  20. Can I enter my girlfriend ? LOL ;D I didnt catch any but she caught her first ever snook Saturday its a 29 incher. The bite has been great this past weekend at Sebastian Inlet the redfish were on a feeding frenzy and the snook were biting great too and a Redfish Sunday
  21. I guess they can regurgitate them but some bass seem to have had the plastics in their belly for a while . I noticed that the color changes in the plastic on the section that is deepest in their belly. And a few have been in there so long they dont have hooks , or maybe they ate plastics that were flosting and came off peoples hooks or ones that were discarded in the water.
  22. Digest a plastic worm? I catch bass on ocassion that have soft plastics in their throat/stomach. The baits are sometimes rough on the outside I guess where the digestive juices try to dissolve them . Does it hurt a bass to swallow plastics? It seems they would mess up their digestive system and possibly kill them . How do bass deal with something like that in their belly?
  23. I just started using Senkos and have had great luck with them thsi is my biggest off a Senko so far , this is just my second bag of them and I have caught several bass and a few 5 pounds and up on them . I caught this one right at dark the other evening when I caught her I noticed something in her throat so I carefully pulled out a soft plastic of some sort before I let her go. If you know what kinda plastic bait this was lemme know . The bait had a forked tail and looked similiar to a bass assasin. Also I dunno how much she weighed ? I figured her to be 24 inches and she was kinda fat. I had no problem sticking my hand in her mouth to get the old plastic bait out the lure in her throat A quick pic of her and the lure that was in her belly before I let her go
  24. I caught him on a bread doughball , using a size 1 octupus hook(not a circle style), I used 8 pound trilene xl and no sinker . I catch more of them with no weight so they dont feel resistance. It was a heckuve fight I would get him to the bank and he would run back out deep . It was like having a dump truck attached to my rod finially I waded out and got him close enough to grab . I need to invest in a net . There are some out here on the lake that are 4 feet plus long here is another pic of him He was pretty for a carp and had a tail about a foot wide
  25. It looks like what I call a shellcracker bream , its a nice one , congrats
