  3. I am a photographer for Girls Gone Wild ;D And I also work for the FWC here in FL as a Nuisance Alligator Trapper It doesnt pay much but it sure is fun reeling in a 10 + footer. Gators are smart critters they are not real easy to catch I will throw in a few pics 1/09/08 gator 1/19 gator and my truck My fiancee is a trapping agent also
  4. That is true Redline . I have went through about 4 reels the past couple months. This gator business can be a net loss by the time you figure in gas equiptment etc. The FWC doesnt pay us ,the only money I get is for the gator . That way taxpayers save money on our service. I just got my 1099 last week :'(
  5. I have a 10 ft john boat that works great for fishing out of . I can put it in anywhere . We have killed 12 ft gators with it Or a Gheenoe is even better http://www.gheenoe.net/thirteenft.html they make them custom for you I got a 10 ft gheenoe here is a 12 ft gheenoe that will carry a load
  6. Cool I caught a nice bass just out from the dock by a sunken treetop it was about 3 1/2 pounds. I tried Hiawassee and below the dam and didnt have any luck there
  7. I wonder if Penns come with any kind of guarantee?

  12. Money is a bit of an issue I might try a Penn thanks for the ideas
  13. Hey Alger im not trying to be nosy but is One of your friends named Jerry? I might have to try a penn . do they come with a lifetime or any kind of guarantee.
  14. I might check them out this braid is Tuff Line 200 lb test . I beleive the diameter is same as 50 lb mono. I need atleast 200 lb test if they roll in the line they can cut 200 lb test with their scutes sometimes
  15. Beleive it or not I caught that big gator on this reel http://i32.tinypic.com/24ctnow.jpg I am unsure of the year of the reel but its strong geared . I tightened the drag too tight on an 8 footer and the mount on the reel snapped. I wish I could fix that mounting part of that old reel. But I need a new strong one I heard Penns are good I never have tried one
  16. Well I am trying to be serious . Its my job to catch them. I just have been going through reels and need to invest in one thats castable but has strong gears and if possible a high gear ratio I reeled this one in a few weeks ago and he was hooked in the tail
  17. I need a spinning reel that I can cast 200 lb test braided line easily and can make long casts with a 3 ounce weight. This reel needs to have strong enough gears and a smooth drag to hold up to a 500 lb alligator. I cannot be real big either if it will hold close to 200 yards of line would be great . I need to have it somewhat balanced on an 8 ft heavy action rod. Any suggestions would be helpful
  18. 1/2 at tall as this guy and taller than this guy
  19. I saw several bass beds with males on them when I was catching a gator this morning. Any yall seeing any spawning activity? here is the gator BTW
  20. 64 lbs and 56 inches long I caught him in Lake Marion SC on live bream. I thought he was a big one too so I took him into the bait shop to weigh him . They didnt even look twice they said they catch them like that all the time there. He was an old cat If you look at his back he was all scarred up .
  21. LOL I am the younger generation of trappers . Those old timers have taught me what I know . I cant make a belt outta caiman they have bony scutes on their belly scales just like a gator has scutes on his back so its basically worthless
  22. Its a Caiman it was probably a pet released years ago it was a female and that is as big as they usually get . The state makes us kill them onsite because they are an exotic. here is another picture
  23. Its my initials BK but it has other meanings like Buck Killer, Bass Katcher and back in my single days the girls referred to me as BK "Home of the Whopper" lol Brandon
  24. I catch a few from time to time I usually use bread. There is an old woman a few houses down from me that feeds the ducks bread the carp come in to clean up leftover crumbs. I use light line and no sinker because if they feel resistance they will spit the bait out here is an average size grassie but I see some much bigger
  25. Large catfish spines get dull . You can lip them like a bass but they will bite down . You can also get them under their gills like I am holding this one . The one in this picture clamped down on my hand and bruised my knuckles a bit but its worth it if its a biggun
