  1. Yeah Fujita and a few others will surely vote against it 😂 I haven't seen anybody set it up like Welcher did yet on BASS, but it takes scoping to a whole new level. If people were mad last year, wait until this year.....it's going to be nuts. The thing I really liked about his video was that he's basically showing the world why it's "unfair" on so many species of fish like SM/White/Stripers/Hybrids/Crappies/Muskies/Spots/etc. Says it's not as deadly against LGMs, but still a very good tool for them, and depending on the lake can be just as big of a game changer. Technology is exponential, the sport and the fishing community as a whole need to address this new tech. FFS at this point kind of feels like the Nuclear Bomb......there is no putting the genie back in the bottle, and like the world, fishing will become a totally different sport pre/post scope.
  2. @PhishLI posted a thread about that video, but for some reason it was deleted, agree with you Tim though, very informative video that folks on this forum should watch. I try not to buy from the corporate web of companies these days. Ironically Milliken is my favorite "pro fisherman", yet I rarely use 6th Sense or the exact bait he's using. He's making money from me through his personality and via Youtube. Milliken really isn't a great teacher in his videos imho, but he's a genius with regards to understanding the nuances of baits and catching big FLGMs. You can learn so much by just watching him and his thought process. Kyle Welcher put out a video last night that I'm sure scared the life out of many Elite series anglers, I was wondering when we'd start seeing crazy new scope locations and usages, and his new technique is brilliant. I can't imagine running the gauntlet in 2024 to win a single blue trophy, these dudes are so next level it's not even funny.
  3. You might as well just buy the JDM Zillion TW HD that is all blacked out like that and comes complete.....for not a whole lot more than that frame.
  4. You sound like an awesome human! Great job! Rescuing animals is the most noble act we can do as humans imho.
  5. ChatGPT is nothing more than a LLM that has implicit biased built into it. Such a far cry from "true AI" imho.
  6. The Turing Test would be a good place to start in the future, but because what is being marketed as "AI" today is so far away from being true AI.......companies and researchers are using it less and less as the ultimate benchmark for AI.
  7. I'd love to know why MB doesn't sell the Jr model hooks just like they do with the Katsuage hooks. They recommend a hook that is about half as sharp as the OEM ones, they are simply unacceptable after using the OEM ones especially. They know these OEM hooks need replacing often. At least give a better option than standard gama 8s.
  8. I have no doubt about that, but what society today is calling AI is a far cry from true AI. Nvidia is who I think has the best chance at unleashing the true genie.
  9. Wonder if AI can bring back the Swimsuit edition with healthy looking women again. There is no such thing as true AI in 2023, predictive modeling, and learned language modeling (LLM) is what we're talking about. Both of which were created by the same type of minds that thought it was a good idea to remove healthy looking women from the swimsuit edition. AI is purely a marketing term as it stands today. I doubt SI will exist in another 5-10yrs, oh well.
  10. Welcome, N. Alabama is an amazing place for SMs. Always frustrating knowing there are brown fish only and 1.5hr away.
  11. Laughs in 19yr old Elite Series pro Trey Mckinney......yes we're ancient in this game 🤣
  12. I guess you missed the part....."The young guys and Milliken " Reading comprehension is important Eta: @PhishLI posted a fantastic thread that was quickly deleted the other day discussing Milliken's video on why the sport is in such a bad place. He absolutely nailed it.
  13. It's not personal at all, it's just a shame that the sport is such a joke and slowly dying on the vine. Look at where the sport was in the late 90s/early 2000s, and where it is today......it's a shell of its former self. The snake oil salesman, and his band of disloyal, gullible minions certainly helped accelerate that process. The young guys and Milliken at BASS are the future of this sport, not Jordan Lee, I'll happily admit I'm wrong if that's not the case again after next season.
  14. Yeah I think I'm going to try one pack this way. Thanks! Pretty sure in a year or two these will be all the rage and made by Berkeley 🤣
  15. Pretty much a JDM only bait at the moment, The Hookup Tackle shows they carry them but all OOS. Anybody have a source for the sneaky little minnows?
  16. Interesting, what went wrong with the duralumin main gear, and what were you using it for? These are 21 reels, for gears to go bad after 2 years is far from what Daiwa designed them for I'm sure.....so perhaps if anything it would be a warranty con for you're situation as they would have been fixed by USA Daiwa I'd imagine.
  17. Tim hit the lottery finding a wife unit that will go Muskie fishing on Turkey day in the freezing cold.......what kind of wizardry are you employing 🤣 Nice Muskies, and you know it's business time when the hat comes out 😎
  18. Have one about 20mins away.....I simply don't get the attraction. ETA: South of the Border is a real roadside attraction 😂
  19. Speaking of Matt Allen......at the beginning of September I tried Daiwa J-Fluoro Hidden Concept in 12lb after I heard him saying it's his new favorite Jerkbait line. It's now my favorite as well, it casts further than any other 12lb I've used, and is equally supple as Invizx or Sniper. Supposedly even less visible than typical clear fluoro, but really it just looks so cool on the reel 🤣 Equally abrasion resistant as those two as well, which is to say not that great. Everything associated with Jerkbait fishing seems to be "no free lunch" for myself.....I want the super supple long casting Fluoro lines, but none of them offer the abrasion resistance of stronger types like Shooter, or cheaper PLine ultimate. Tatsu remains too expensive for my blood.
  20. Yeah they're always sold out it seems. The Vision 110jr/+1 might just be my favorite bait, but it's very nuanced. I fish them around heavy cover, I lose some big fish and 110s because I have my drag backed down and that first hard run gets me every time. On the other side, last year I lost some big fish because I had the drag locked down and had fish both bend me out and break a hook point off. No free lunch fishing Vision 110s, everything is a compromise I've found. It all stems from the light wire hooks needed for long range hookups, to the light line needed to make the bait dance right. When they want it, there is nothing on the planet that puts fish in the boat as fast in my experience. You can get like a dozen fish on a dozen casts, they're truly magical like that.
  21. Welcome to the nuanced world that is the Vision 110 series. I started a thread like this last year. Contacted MB as well. There is no perfect answer, and depending on your water temps, certain hooks will affect the bait more than others. Ultimately MB sent me free replacement hooks, along with using Gama G-Finesse A-Mart ones in size 6 and 8. I wish MB would sell me these hooks, but they wouldn't. These are finesse jerkbaits in a power jerkbait profile. Throwing them on max 12lb test, and using your drag is key to extending the life of them, as well as not losing fish on them. Lots of people throw them on fairy wands and 8lb test......I can't get away with that, but I still throw them on 12lb with a baitcaster setup.
  22. It just applied it to my cart.......things were kind of tricky though as you'd click the bait that is for sale, but some weights/colors were still full priced, others were deeply discounted. It was always clear though as you'd click the option you wanted and it was either discounted or normal priced before adding to your cart.
  23. Happy Thanksgiving you filthy animals! I'll be doing a little Bassin tomorrow, fish have no clue it's a holiday 🤣
  24. And I would never start out with braid......I think that's why it's important to stress that everyone is different, and we all value different features in gear. I mean the safe and reliable answer is to suggest he get 15-20lb Big Game mono. I've never really understood how people have problems with modern day FC, especially supple stuff like Invizx and Sniper. I run straight 8lb Invizx on a 3000 Certate, you'd think I'd be replacing the line every week if you read the internet in regard to spinning reels and straight FC.
  25. Definitely missed your presence and reports brother, but I'm proud of you for improving your station in life, I'm sure in a decade it'll yield more fishing, and more money for the tackle monkey. Awesome fish, never gets old seeing the health and beauty of NLGMs.
