Beyond This 3D Reality.....
The world is the same for all of us as we're bound by the same physics and universal dimensions, however humans have the ability to expand their consciousness. I've never met a person who took a hallucinogenic trip and looked at the world the same way after.

Bob, you're already in Heaven.....having a tractor, acreage, and a pond is about as close to heaven as we can get on earth. Not to mention you live in one of the best states to live in. That said TnRiver46 has his own piece of heaven figured out quite nicely. I'd be happy with either one.

How many days did you fish in 2023
I'd say over 250 days, or on average 5 days a week. Sometimes as little as an 1hr, other times 5-6hrs. I'm 16 months deep into trying to fulfill a lifelong goal so most of my free time is spent pursuing this goal which involves Bass fishing. I don't know how much I'd fish if/when I realize my goal, but I'm sure it won't be nearly as much as now. I have the advantage of living about 30 secs from my home lake. The more days I go out on the water, the less I know about predicting when the fish will be biting. To this point sometimes I'll be lazy and go out without a GoPro, and on one occasion without a cam this past year because I "know" the fish aren't biting and I just want to try out a new bait or something. Sure enough I'll catch a toad or catch a ton of fish until I lose the only bait I brought. This is my driving motivator for trying to just fish every day I can, the fact is I don't have a clue why they chew some days, and other days they don't. Every day is a new pattern outside of late summer for me. ETA: 1/250+ days were spent targeting non-Bass.......and ended up only catching Spots and a 10.5lb Channel Cat while Crappie fishing with minnows lol. I can't make myself not fish for Bass if they're in the lake I'm fishing. As a kid I could, but not as an adult. Hopefully one day I'll stop being so obsessed with my Bass goals.

Just picked up new rod for swimbait fishing and could use some recommendations
Tranx 300 Tatula 300 Those are the easy button for big swimbait reels. I like a 6 or 7 speed reel. I use 20lb Sniper FC. People use braid to FC, braid to mono, straight FC, and straight mono like Big Game. It's a preference thing, no right or wrong opinions.

Thanks brother! Yeah I can't remember ever catching a two/threefer outside of the Fall/Winter. Down here as the water cools it seems everything starts to group up closer and closer together. A month ago I was seeing big schools of bait in a particular area, whereas now it's just a carpet of bait in those same areas.

You know it's winter time when you're catching twofers on jerking sticks 😁

Fishing around docks
I view docks as the most pressured locations on any bodies of water they reside in. This is why I think Neko and Whacky Rigs work so well at targeting dock fish, one of the few pressure proof lures. Big swimbaits and glides are another bait that really shines around docks I've found.

Welcome fellow Alabamian, central AL though. Fairy wands are awesome to catch fish on, they suck to fish with though 😉 How you fishing the big live bait thing? Sounds interesting

Seriously think about all the people across the globe who have jobs because of Northern Basser, a true humanitarian if I've ever seen one 😎 He buys what we actually put in our carts and end up deleting, he's living the dream of all our inner monkeys.....he's the supreme monkey in these parts, there can be doubts.

Other Species Latest Catch Pics Thread
Coming from a guy who Billfishes for a living, that's a heck of a statement and testament to just how special the LGM Bass is. You're the only person I've personally known who fishes for Mexican DDs as a "native". Known a bunch of folks who took a trip down there, but never a gringo living there and Bassin. You're my fishing spirit animal no doubt....and I'm a cat guy not a bird one 🤣

Always amazed that you love Bass fishing so much after catching so many pelagic fish, especially Billfish @king fisher I always say it to you, but you've somehow managed to figure out a way to live the most blissful fishing life I could imagine! Getting paid to captain a battlewagon in the Pacific, and when you don't have to work you're Bassin in Mexico.

Small Size Vibrating Jig Blades ?
Thanks for the pics brother! The jighead design/mold is the thing that keeps me from trying it. The Flashback Mini has an excellent shape to it. Damiki released a bunch of new colors if you missed it, I've been fishing one of them PB Silver the last week. Keep trying to beat that Armor Shad, most recent additions have been the Juggle Minnow, Jerky J 3", Spunk Shad in 3.5".....all of them overwhelm the action of the tiny blade. That Armor Shad is unbeatable lol.

Small Size Vibrating Jig Blades ?
The Flashback Mini has finally made me think about making my own tackle. Penny sized blade on a 1/8th and 1/4th jighead with light wire 2/0 hook and a TRAILER KEEPER....that's the bait I really need to start making myself. I've gone through 15-20 Flashback Minis in the last 12-14months, not to mention the design sucks compared to the one above. @PondProwler9000 That's awesome you're making the Flashback Mini types, can you post a picture?

Small deep diving jerk bait recommendations
Luckycraft Staysee 90SP Megabass X-Nanahan +2 Both are very proven fish magnets, and both will run 7-10ft depending on your line weight, and both are in that 3" size range. Honestly though if you're targeting the 6-8ft zone and need a jerkbait, there isn't anything close to a 110jr+1, it's one of the most magical baits I've ever found. I wouldn't give up on it or try to find something better imho.

New Lines You Want To Try ?
Shimano Mastiff, has a unique design that might help with knot strength on FCs.

Fantasy Fishing 2024
I'm more excited for the opener of Toledo Bend in FEB. as any sporting event I can remember. It's going to be epic, a century belt will be awarded, a DD or two will be caught, and big Glides will be showcased. How can you not love that stuff. My lineup: Welcher - Best Bass angler on the planet right now imho Milliken - Won the Toledo Bend Open last year and understands big baits and Gizzard FLGM than anybody on the series Mckinney - 19yr old prodigy and scope genie Sumrall - Local and all around good guy Davis Jr. - One of hotter anglers going into the event

The Right Stuff
@Team9nine LJ Brasher was the most hardcore trophy Bass hunter I've ever learned about.....absolute madman. He's an Alabama native, and a legend around the SE US. " “If you can get that Phillips’ fellow to fish with me for three days and three nights, I’ll put a bass in the boat 10 pounds or bigger,” the late L.J.Brasher of Opelika, Alabama, told a friend of mine, Joe Price of Birmingham Alabama. Now that is a big boast for even the nation’s best anglers. " Night Hawk Publications - John's Journal Dude believed that if you stayed on the water for 72 hours straight you'd eventually run into a big fish biting window....absolute madman!!!!!!

Milikin on Private Equity
Milliken is an Elite and Classic qualified pro angler who has a top 3 Bass fishing Youtube channel with over 500k subs, if you don't know who he is, then you don't follow the fishing industry very close, it's that simple.

He caught a 40lb+ bag, and a C2C DD in last night's video.....hate em' or love em' he'll outfish you to death, or at least he will to me. He's arrogant, and handles the fish extremely poorly, but I've honestly seen few other anglers as naturally gifted as Ben. Kyle Welcher is one of the few that I can name that I think is a more naturally gifted angler and has a great YT page. His early stuff is what I think blew his popularity up, most folks aren't into watching highlights of derbies, rather they like dude catching a catfish out of a manhole cover or catching giant mystery fish in a spillway. He seems to have changed a bit over last year's content where he won a Open and became Elite qualified. I imagine he'll return to earth this coming Elite season. Lot of people both hate and love this guy, but I think everyone can agree Ben Milliken is one of the biggest names in the sport currently.

Agree King Fisher, being popular on Social Media is a requirement now to make a quality living being a pro Bass angler. One thing that does suck about Milliken videos is that if he's fishing something that's not made by 6th Sense, he can be down right cryptic about the bait.
