I've never owned a MB rod but I have a IMX-PRO 853c. It's a fantastic rod. I have a 853s E6X as well. It's a decent rod but nowhere near the IMX. IIRC the GCX is the replacement for the E6X.

This is one time where spinning gear comes to the front for me.

Get both is always the correct answer.

A couple of years ago I went braid to leader on my spinning setups. I don’t see myself ever going back.

Come on up and hunt the river with us this year. You’ll quickly learn how many riverfront home owners have no idea what the high water mark laws are. But then there’s the good ones that want us to shoot as many geese as we can.

What if I’m fishing a 3/4oz jig and trailer in 20ft of water? Is my 1 1/2 oz rated rod too heavy then?

Just picked up a Kistler Helium 7'6" 3/8 - 1 1/2. I'm pretty excited to get out with it. I've also got a TFO 736 & a Fury 795SB.
