Wa question
Cool thanks. I wasn't sure if they were in the lakes and ponds.

Wa question
I got two questions for you guys, 1. When I'm listening to YouTube and learning new things I hear a lot of people talk about techniques for down south, the west, and the north. Just curious as a Washington guy would I be aligning with the West or the north or both or what? 1. In Washington here. I know we have sculpins. I always knew them as bullheads growing up. I only saw them in rivers. Is that a good thing to imitate here in Washington? Are they common in the lakes and ponds? Are sculpins and gobies essentially the same thing for my purposes?

Rod components 101
Wow such great info. You guys just make me keep thinking of new things to ask. Are the MHX blanks that are available at mud hole northwest composite x ray blanks? Are they privately labeled for mudhole or is it a coincidence (M-mud, H-hole, X-xray)?

Rod components 101
Awesome guys. So I'm looking for some big picture thinking here. Obviously the guides are a source of friction to the line. But they are also the source of the line interacting with the rod along with the real seat I suppose. Are more guides better? With more guides there would be more friction. Although I don't know if that would amount to a hill of beans, but also with more guides. Are you getting more input into the blank? Just curious.

Rod components 101
Hey guys and gals. It's easy to picture how a better blank is more sensitive, light and stronger. Please help me understand how cheap to premium reel seats effect things? Is it just finding a shape you like or is there more? Same thing with guides. They get pretty spendy. I get they are stronger and lighter, but how much are we talking? Is this something normal people can even notice? Thank you!

Husky jerk
Thanks guys, do you fish these things any different than any other sus jerk baits? I been throwing a lot of rip stops lately. Some X Raps too but never do as good with them.
-
Husky jerk
I somewhat impulsively bought a couple husky jerks. Then on the way home I wondered if there was really any reason to anymore. Other stuff like the rip stop which I love and many other newer suspending jerk baits are pretty much the same cost. Anybody still use these things? Is there any reason to buy them over the others?

Wa question
For you western WA guys out there, just curious how large are the baitfish right now in Dec? Bluegill/pumpkinseed/crappie, perch, and trout?

That's really interesting. There aren't too many steep drop offs but a few. So wood and concrete dock pilings l would think. But l am assuming the floating docks are a no go because no vertical element. My favorite lake has one section of chunky baseball and football size rock with a 3' mound of it right in the center. That sounds like a good spot, but I've ignored it all year because the water level's been below it. The water level finally has it covered but I've still ignored it because it's probably only 1-3' deep. In my other favorite lake there is the whole bunch of submerging logs and 6-10 that are standing but cut off at the surface (so vertical) and they happen to be I believe in the deepest part of the lake, probably 10 to 12 ft. These are just some spots that come to mind from what you said. The rest of the shallow water has lots of lay downs, tree cover, and vegetation but is within a normal gradual dropping bank. One question, when you say bluff walls, seawalls, and steep banks how much are we talking? For instance, in one lake there is an actual vertical concrete wall, but it's only in two feet of water. I've been discounting that because it's so shallow. How steep is a steep bank? Ian is a really steep bank still good if it's only steep to shallow water like the wall? Also not really sure if l should be fishing extra big or small?? I've heard both. Like Ned rigs and huge swimbaits 😶

Hey guys and gals, lm fishing later into the year than l ever have. Nov was a one fish struggle fest. I can't find these fish and I'm thinking maybe the advice lm hearing doesn't seem to be right for where lm fishing?? I hear that fish will be on structure, especially rock right now. And in the deep water where it's warmest. I've been throwing jigs, jerkbaits, and slow rolling spinnerbaits. My jerkbaits aren't going deep at all though. Just a few feet. I fish small lakes and large ponds. About 30-50 acres. Ranging from 12-50' in the deepest. These lakes are mostly a muddy bottom some weeded. I caught that Nov bass slow rolling a spinnerbait over the weeds in what l think is the deepest area of the pond, but that's only 10' to the weeds. We can't locate but a few in the deepest parts of the lakes. It's like the fish are just gone?? Any ideas what l could be doing wrong? I'm getting desperate.

Long rod questions
Thanks guys. I do love long rods for trolling.

Long rod questions
Hey guys, l lost my dad last year and have been eyeballing some of his rods. He was a trout and steelhead guy but he's got some nice rods but they're long and lm wondering if l can make use of them in the bass waters. G Loomis 8'6" med/xfast Lamaglass NW special 8'6" MH/fast or extra fast Id love to find a use for these but haven't bass fished with such long rods. I was thinking maybe the Loomis might make a good dropshot rod. Do you guys see any good uses for these?
- Ned Jigging

Ned Jigging
I was hearing about guys putting large Ned style trailers on 1/2 oz jigs and fishing them like a Ned rig dragging or hopping them. Ned baits all have that flat or mushroom shape head. Why do neds have that shape head? Would a 'ned jig' be better off with that mushroom style, football, or ballhead? Thanks guys

Slow rolling spinnerbaits over grassbeds....
Thank you guys! This was super super helpful!

Slow rolling spinnerbaits over grassbeds....
When people say that, or fishing whatever over 'grassbeds', does that basically mean fishing over aquatic vegetation like hydrilla or whatever? Or does that specifically mean grass?

Night fishing
Hey guys. I a WA guy and lve heard night fishing can be good. It looks like it's legal in WA but it seems like all the boat launches say closed at dusk?? So what the heck is up with that? Is that there way of just making it so you can't fish at night? Does anybody else run into this?

Wa question
I saw bass pinning fry to the surface in October but not since then and even then just once or twice.

Wa question
Yep I'm in King Co too. I've never fished for Chum. I'll have to try it. I was thinking more about this and you know listening to YouTube videos and trying to figure it all out. I keep hearing that in November the bass are active but nowhere I fished am I seeing active fish. Are you guys seeing active fish right now? I also keep hearing their chasing bait fish but I haven't really seen that myself. Maybe I missed it. How big are the bait fish right now? I have so many questions lol.

Wa question
Hey guys, I'm fishing later into the year then I ever have for bass. I'm trying to catch bass every month out of the year this year. I caught my November bass so far on a spinnerbait on a windy day with low visibility but I was just curious. Where are you guys finding the bass this time of year around here?
