  1. And I'm told Zillion gears fit those?
  2. Do the Zillion gears fit these?
  3. Finally, a cyberpunk fishing rod.
  4. You can put a 95mm handle with Zillion HD/Tatula Flip and Pitch knobs like knobs on it for $11.
  5. Common issue on these is the pinion support bearings.
  6. Some of this stuff is accurately rated in grams and when sold in the US on moon landing units they have to label it as a fraction of a ounce we are familiar with. For some reason we have "1/4", "3/8", "1/2" and "5/8" oz class baits rather than accurate weights. I assume it was easier for TW or whoever sold it to call it a 1/2 oz bait instead of 2/5 oz bait
  7. Some feedback on a swimbait forum states that it is good for 1.5 to 3 oz baits and is a good close quarters or kayak glide bait rod. I have a similar cheapie rod I use for this along with ploppers, rats and on occasion chatterbaits. It's the Lews Laser SG1 7'4"H but it has a normal bass rod (short) handle and is super tip heavy. I use a 9+ oz reel to balance it out. I got mine on sale for $48 but at $59.99 get the SLX.
  8. Zillion for all around use because it can handle flouro without line slime at zero spool tension and can also skip. Met for braid to leader for throwing compact things to the middle of the lake.
  9. Uranus is a planet. It could be worse. They could be making names that are plays on English words like you see in the Chinease bike parts world like fooker or fucare. Also, there is a DC low profile from this company.
  10. This the same company that makes the Bates Hundo?
  11. Nope. Now warranty for JDM stuff. Also if you break something that's typically only covered under a replacement program and not a warranty although some do use warranties as replacment programs.
  12. For me, it's the magnet being dropped down a tube video.
  13. Tatula 200 or 300. They both basically 300 reels. The 300 takes the narrow but tall spool approach and the 200 uses a short but wide spool. 300s can be had for as little as $140 pre tax if you can wait a month for it to arrive from the other side of the planet.
  14. Looks cool and feels nice. Think of it as a luxury good and not a tool. Imagine grabbing the solid brass handle of an old door on old mansion and feeling the heft of the solid hard wood door swing fluidly on hinges. Compared this to a hollow cardboard door and flimsy big box store knob. They both do the same thing and one is certainly lighter but one is definitely nicer and more satisfying to use.
  15. I'd go with a 90 mm D series handle for a straight handle upgrade that still looks period but you can also can go nuts. This D7 has a 13 met handle and knobs on it.
  16. People put modern drag stars and or handles on older reels all the time.
  17. I'd skip plastics out of a kayak with it.
  18. If you really want to be cheap about it the $60 Lews SG1 74H and a $48 Johncoo Ares are about as cheap as casting 1 to 3 oz swimbaits gets. I'd know, I have both.
  19. They appear to be the same doyo platform fitted with the same braking system effectively making them the "same reel" in my eyes. The differences between the two being more of trim option between two vehicles of the same model.
  20. Pretty much the same reel. The BPS one gets an aluminum handle side plate which is a bonus to me. The non handle side plate is also aluminum but that it done for the fancy plate finish and does not provide structural support. The part of the side plate that cam locks into the frame and supports the spool shaft would have to be aluminum to add support. This is what Daiwa does with the armed housing and used to do as standard back in the day. Anyways get whatever you want. The Lews is certainly cheaper.
  21. I can't cope with spinning reels where the handle spins backwards. Picked up a guide reel once that had the ar off and it was horrible. I somehow managed to backlash a spinning reel before even making a cast. Also I frequently move my hand off the handle on spinning reels and use the rod to move the bait only reaching for the handle to pickup slack line. Having to stand there with a death grip on the knob the whole time was unnatural to me.
  22. Jeez you set the dial to 0? That's difficult backlash for that braking system.
