I'd rather pay $100 after tax on Aliexpress and wait a month for it to show up. I've bought lots of reel parts and reels off that site.

Bumping as a reminder that these still exist and are under $100 now. It's basically a 2017 Tatula SV without the T Wing for the Chinease market. It's part of the "CS" family of reels.

Used market or maybe the Fuego SV is still available on Aliexpress. Last time I checked they were around $96. They are still around! The handle looks like an 85mm. I would get a 95mm with the long Zillion HD/Tatula Elite Flip like knobs. I'm a big fan on that handle and knobs.

You get an SV reel without a t wing.

The stream rods with the round reel pairing is really cool. It's something i always wanted but don't stream fish or have trout. Might make one for pan fish one day.

Most BFS bass rods are that way I have found be it Majorcraft, Daiwa or Shimano. They are finesse versions of bass rods and aren't suitable to the really UL stuff like trout magnets. They all have dedicated trout rod lines for that kind of stuff. For Majorcraft it's their Finetail rods.

Avoid those combo reels like the plague. They often make extra cheap reels and rods unique to the combo pairing that are extra hot garbage and they charge way too much. I always check these out in store it they are all some tip heavy wigly enormously heavy rod with a plastic reel mounted to it for $178.

Bingo. Wider spool. Based on my Tatulas that's the same difference in width between a Tatula CT and Tatula HD 150. To me, that's not a noticeable difference in palming width.

Now that I look into it I'm not sure. The 200 is the "new" reel and the 150 is the old. For some reason I always thought the Curado DC was a 200. The 150 and 200 look identical in pictures but there is a 0.2 oz weight difference and a stated increase in line capacity. It small enough of a change that the two could use identical frames and spools with the slight weight increase coming from a change in handle length and possibly to thicker knobs. Daiwa did this with their Tatula 150 HD and took the old 100 and added a longer handle then changed how they rated the line cap to give it a 150 rating. The only way to tell would be to have 200 DC and 150 DC spools side by side. If it is larger it certainly isn't by much.

They look identical in every pic I have seen. I know the Curado 150 MGL and 200K are different platforms with different frames and spool dimensions but the Curado DC 150 is not a DC version of the Curado 150 MGL. It looks like it's still based on the 200K platform. The 200K DC has always had a shallower spool than the 200k to accommodate the DC unit in the ID of the spool. It is possible Shimano simply renamed the 200 DC to a 150 DC to reflect the capacity like they did with the Scorpion 150 MGL. Daiwa did something similar with the old Tatula reels and renamed the old 100 to a 150 HD when the newest 100 at the time had less capacity than the old 100 they sought to re-release as an HD reel.

The Tatula 80 and 70 feel Zillion like in how smooth and solid they are. The 80 is like $114 and the one to get if skipping is not a priority. The newest Tatula 100 also looks impressive with a similar solid construction and hyper gears. The going rate on those is approaching $100.

Go to Aliexpress, type reel handle and get one million results. Alternatively you can see of the issue is if the nut has gotten loose. Remove the retainer and tighten the handle nut and reinstall the retainer.

Look to be the same size to me. The Shimano numbering system is some reference to capacity and while this can mean smaller spool means smaller reel it can also just be a shallower spool or make no sense at all like the shallow spool Engetsu 100 based on the Scorpion 70.

That's actually how bfs rods are "supposed" to be. They're bass rods for small jigs and plastics. The really whippy noodle rods casting rods are for trout.

That's usually a bearing doing that. I would oil the likely suspects and fish. In my experience this is corrosion on the balls or race in a bearing and once used for a bit it wears off. The bearing is likely dry which has allowed the corrosion to form so an oiling and use usually sorts it out. The bearing for the handle that sits in the side plate is usually the culprit.

How do you know? I've seen broken poison adrenas where monocoque handle has shattered and there is definely a blank jammed into a handle tube visible. On all my 1pc Shimano USDM rods there is a metal ferrule under the lock nut that the blank is slid into and it appears identical to my 2pc rods that separate at the handle and use this peice for the connection. Also the JDM versions of the USDM rods I have are all 2pc that separate at the handle. Furthermore not a single shimano rod I own has what looks like an exposed blank at the reel seat and "exposed blank area" has a different paint finish from the blank and matches that of the rest of the handle. The old zodias have a split grip with a larger diameter "blank" section that is much larger than what the actual blank would be indicating that it is a separate peice. With the new monocoque carbon tube handles this is certainly still in practice. I believe with 100% certainty that the USDM 1pc rods are intact 2pc that join at the handle and are glued together because the USDM has a phobia of 2pc rods.

It's probably a 2pc joint at the handle glued together and sold as a 1pc rod on the USDM like all shinano rods. It might be new to the US market but I doubt it is "new".

The Curado bfs sells well and it was just a more expensive scorpion bfs released later. The alure of buying a USDM reel on TW at full retail is strong.

I have a scorpion 1000xt with a yumeya spool in it. It casts light baits but I don't use it as much as my other due to the centrifugal brakes.

A whole collection of rare megabass reels. All the monoblocks. The dragon reels. The special color Zondas and IS reels. The rare spools too. Then just stare at them.
