  1. Take off the brake side plate and remove the spool. Turn the handle and let us know if it still grinds. This is the First place to start
  2. Not the dark side, the FUN side. Catching with light tackle is a challenge that I enjoy! Florida LMB and Peacocks. Reminds me of those who fish for Tarpon with flyrods!
  3. I still have my first: Ryobi VM36 maglite. Bought it in the late 70's Tiny thing but it has a mag brake! Still.have the rod, Garcia thunderstruck, 5'6", pistol grip. Those were the days......
  4. Doesn't sound like bearings. Thinkin you need to make another video and turn the handle Slower.make vid a bit longer. Sounds like the gears or clutch. Are you positive you followed the schematic when you put it together??
  5. My guess would be a shim washer in a wrong place, a particle of dirt in a bearing, or a bad bearing. I'm just guessig.......
  6. So, if the spool is removed, the click is still there?? Did you clean the AR bearing?? Do NOT lube the AR.
  7. What parts were rusted and how did You remove the rust?? Did you service the level wind??
  8. I like the whole aspect of fishing! For the last year I've been doing a lot of bfs fishing. Lightest rod is ML and best LMB so far was 8 lbs. What FUN!!! The rod nearly doubled over, drag screaming, where are those blood pressure pills!! Lol 😅
  9. Happy Birthday!! Wishing you many, many more!!
  10. Welcome from Florida! Great people on this forum with tons of knowledge!
  11. Been using them forever it seems!! Two rods set up for them, ML bfs and a MH falcon cara. Used many different brands but now I just use Tiki sticks or Gambler. If the bass are snoozin', a drop or two of Anise oil wakes them! 😃
  12. Thanks for the warm welcome from all! I really appreciate it!! 😀
  13. I do 15 lb flour leader to braid, spinning or casting about 7 feet. I tie the Alberto, it hasn't failed yet. I do not allow the knot to go on the reel. But what I do is apply a micro drop of superglue and use accelerator. It forms a thin skin of plastic on the knot and easily slides through the guides. Learned this from Roland Martin!
  14. Thanks again for the welcomes! Well, plenty Of canals along the streets, all have bass!
  15. Thanks all for the welcomes! I'm in Boynton Beach, Palm Beach County, about 2 miles from the ocean. My house sits high so no worries about the rain. We got about 7-8 inches so far. Still raining and tomorrow too. Changing out leaders lol
  16. Greetings to all! I've been reading a lot of the different forums here and figured best to join. Lot of great knowledge here! I want to thank Glenn for putting this together! I'm 67 years young, semi retired, originally from Pittsburgh, PA, moved here 1987, fishing since 9 yesterday old. Bent rods and tight lines to all!!
