  1. Nice sale, Wish shipping to Canada was not so brutal :-/
  2. Sounds fun, Im in for sure after the opener If there is a list put me on (June - Oct 09)
  3. What one preforms best for you guys? Can't choose between the types RC 1.5, FAT CB, Skeet Mini, moonsault 100cb
  4. My first time winterizing my boat. I read to put RV antifreeze in my bilge area and run it though my pumps including my livewell. My question is, should i be leaving the excess antifreeze at the bottom of my bilge area or wipe it out after? I don't think it would hurt by sitting there but thought I would check with people who probably know more. Thanks.
  5. According to our scale it was almost 6.5lbs Did not measure length. Great fight in it though
  6. Caught today with an original floating rapala on Lake St. Clair
  7. These things are all i use when panfishing. The original bodies rip easy though, might want to look into different brand replacement bodies if you go with these.
  8. Thanks, The H20 looks solid. I have a question though, Is the colour version worth the extra $100 compared to the gray scale?
  9. I just bought a boat, I have a fishfinder already so im looking for a gps that supports pre loaded marine charts on sd card. Not looking to spend a crazy amount, If you know of any please let me know. Also could you put the sd marine charts into a normal gps that supports sd cards? Thanks.
  10. I use palomar knot for x-raps. Both sizes are good for me, i really like the 8's for shallower water.
  11. I bought one, no luck with bass for me, I heard they are very good for walleye though.
  12. Daiwa Tierra can probably get one for under 100 on ebay
  13. A have to agree with ya there. I don't have any experience at all with these things; and from what I read, they are great rods. But, I don't think I could ever get past the way they look. :-/ Just hold one and look at the price tag and your opinion will change. That's what happened to me when they got them in at my local fishing shop. Looking for a rod $150 or under, the carrot stick felt amazing compared to all the other rods in that price range, and with what people say about them here I couldn't pass the deal up.
  14. I just got a new carrot stick rod that has a line rating of x-20 lb max. Would it hurt to run anything higher? I have some 30lb braid i wanted to spool up, but if im going to really risk damaging the rod it's not worth it, ill go get some 20lb. Thanks.
  15. Im looking for the best choice in line for a basic all around rod. On a baitcaster, I use for cranks, jerk-baits, top-waters, spinners, swim-baits I have a setup I use for heavy cover with braid, a setup for soft-plastics and light jigs with flouro but i need some help choosing line and lb test for an all around deal. I was thinking of Mono, but some recommendations on brands and lb test would be great. The waters i fish are mostly clear, and i usually don't fish deeper than 10ft. Thanks.
  16. Looking for some tips, I see the patterns some of you put on your baits, Im assuming you use screens / nets to put the checker patterns on, Are you guys using airbrushes? If not how do you prevent the paint from running? Any special types of paints you guys use? I finally got some baits carved out, they look good, seem to run good, Now i just want to make them look good after painted Thanks for the help.
  17. St croix will offer an upgrade, They will give you credit for the rods list price on the website, and you pay the difference for whatever rod your looking at. I just did that from my premier -> ledgend tournament rod. Paid the $120 rod difference and $20 for shipping Easy process, no problems, Only thing is that the whole send and receive process could take a while.
  18. There is a creek near my place, ice just melted around here. Question is do bass stay shallow in creeks during winter? It's probably 5ft deep max. Also if there is a good possibility of bass being there what presentation would you recommend? Thanks
  19. I had a solene, I cant really compare it to much but it was a decent reel, Only problem with it was that the paint chipped off very easily on mine.
  20. Im going to be buying some new Fluorocarbon line for a new reel im getting. Wondering what would be better, green tint or clear line. Im fishing mostly clear waters for the most part. Thanks.
  21. try a weed-less frog near/over the lilly pads
  22. Any soft plastics worm, senko, grub
  23. one thing that helped me a lot, was to stop trying to launch the lure as hard as i could (causing backlash like a beast) Let the reel do the work, it will go the distance
  24. I own one, Tones of strikes, not many hook ups though, I am not an expert at setting the hook but I find I do a lot better with t-rigged plastic frogs. I like the bronze eye for lilly pads though, you can bang them off them pretty hard without worrying about getting it tangled or stuck in the mess.
