Confidence Bait
For me it's a watermelon seed Zoom trick worm. I just got my first Senkos today on the way back from Atlanta (no shops here carry them) so that may change soon.

Nice fish and I like the hat ;D

Fishing drought...
It all depends on where you're fishing. I'd guess in some bigger lakes the ones you caught would be small where as in my pond anything over 3lbs is pretty good size.

What do bass taste like?
I'm another one of those. No one can believe I like fishing so much and won't eat any seafood. I think last time I ate seafood was in kindergarten when someone gave me fish sticks and told me they were chicken fingers.

I was out helping a friend pre-fish for tomorrow..
Jeez, that thing is a beast! That's probably one of the longest bass I've ever seen.

Best day ever inc. new PB
So I've only been seriously bass fishing since the start of this summer and my previous PB was only about 2lbs ( :-[). Went out today to my usual pond and caught 3 that beat it out, weighing in at 3lb 0oz, 3lb 7oz, and a whopping 6lb 2oz. 8-) I caught them from biggest to smallest though, so the 3lb'ers weren't so special. Total for the day was 11 bass I think, across 2 different ponds. Here's the pics: 6lb 2oz 6lb 2oz (lighting screwed up ) 3lb 7oz And by the time I got to the 3lb even one I was an old pro and didnt need to take a picture.

Stuck in the house.. What would you have done?
You'd be surprised how much pain is involved when you make the slightest movements the first week or so after you hurt your ankle that bad. I was pretty much confined to the couch with my leg propped up for a whole week (until the swelling went down enough that I could fit in a moon boot which I had to wear for 3 more weeks), even getting up and on my crutches to go to the bathroom was miserable. I can't imagine trying to get in a boat and keep it safe/immobile for the duration of a fishing trip.

Buddys PB
Friend of mine got his PB today also on a Zoom trick worm, weighed in at 8lb 4oz.

Stuck in the house.. What would you have done?
Yeah you definately don't want to mess with your ankles. I've sprained my right ankle probably 5 or 6 times in my life, twice in the past 6 months (the first time I actually tore some ligaments in it playing soccer - looked a lot like your picture, the second just a standard sprain) and it still hurts sometimes. The thing is with ankles, even if you let it heal 100%, you're at a much higher risk for repeat injuries for life pretty much. Don't take any chances, just wait it out (however hard that may be).

Never seen this before...
Was fishing with a buddy today and he had a fish on the line that was heading for a huge clump of weeds and submerged branches near my part of the boat so I grabbed the net to get him. While I was doing that I saw a fish hit my line and tried to set the hook with 1 hand while I was concentrating on getting the other fish in the net. Needless to say I missed it and it ended up taking the worm clean off the hook. I got the other bass in the boat though, so I guess that was good. Anyway back to the story, about 20 minutes later I had a fish on and I pulled him in and lipped him. I took the hook out with the worm still on it and went to throw him back then I did a double take. Lo and behold still in his mouth was my other worm from earlier, still in-tact. ;D It was in the deeper part of the pond and he took the bait about 30 yards apart, so I doubt it was a bed or anything. Anyone know why he would strike again with the other worm still in his mouth? Really, really hungry maybe? ;D

checking your scales...
My scale is still pretty new, but I check it with my 10lb anchor.

NEED LEGAL INFO!
Unless you already admitted guilt, tell them to prove it was just those two guys fishing. Maybe those fish included the guy taking the pictures and another guy in the bathroom or something. Then you're only 1 over the limit.

tips for fishing from a boat.
If he won't get off his lazy arse to go spend $200+ on a trolling motor, get off your own lazy arse and buy the trolling motor yourself or spend $15 on an anchor and you won't drift anymore.

#@%& rain!!
Yeah it's terrible here. It's rained one really good time in the past month probably here, and wouldn't you know it I was out on the pond when it started. ;D

Well, at least I caught something!
I caught a real bass inside a weed bass today. ;D I caught like 3 jelly fish at once in a castnet catching baitfish at the beach once. I guess thats about the only cool thing.

Least I can expect to pay for a trolling motor?
I am looking into getting a small trolling motor for some of places I go that have nothing to use but jon-boats (dont have a real bass boat yet). I don't wanna buy a piece of crap, but on the other hand I dont need the best there is. Feel free to post any suggestions.

Reel men throw pink!
Luckily my uncle gave me my bubblegum worms so the only guts required for me are taking them along when I'm fishing with someone. For me, it was mostly sunny and the water was pretty murky.

How long is too long keeping a bass out of water?
I usually dont take nets out with me unless I'm with someone else or I know there are big fish or cats where I'll be fishing. Would it be alright in the future if I'm having trouble I put the fish in a net and lower it into the water and let it breathe a bit before trying to work on it some more? Or would that create too much confusion for the fish?

How long is too long keeping a bass out of water?
I had some trouble getting a hook out of a bass's mouth today, it'd somehow managed to get it through it's jaw and out, then back in through it's lip from the outside. It was really in there good and to make it worse it'd picked up a ton of weeds just before I got it in the boat so I had to spend time picking all those off so I could even see in it's mouth. Details aside, it took me a really long time to get the hook out without hurting the fish too bad, maybe 3-5 minutes or so. I let him go easy back in the water and it looked like he wasnt going to make it. He just started to float off, so pulled it through the water to get it going through it's gills and it swam off and seemed to be alright. After it was over I thought I probably handled the situation badly leaving it out of water for too long. Any tips on what to do in the future? Should I hold it down in the water a little with the hook still in if I'm having trouble? Any tips or pointers would be appreciated...

Reel men throw pink!
Thats the exact brand/color/type I was using, but I rigged it weightless (I think this is a recognized form? pretty much a texas-rig with no weight ).

Reel men throw pink!
I'd read this thread before I took a short fishin trip this afternoon. I'd been getting skunked for an hour and a half in horrible winds, so and I decided what the hell, and threw on a bubblegum trick worm. Caught 4 bass in about 30-45 minutes on them and decided that was good enough and came home. The last one was probably close to 2lbs, which is actually pretty big for the pond.

When fishing alone?
I enjoy fishing alone. It's very soothing and a good way to clear your head, being out on the pond/lake alone. Aside from that I usually do better alone and when I'm by myself I don't have to worry about getting treble hooks burried in my shirt, a guy in the back of the boat that's about as graceful as a rhino, and I can move where I want, when I want, for however long I want. Not to say I don't enjoy shooting the **** with a buddy lots of times, but fishing alone is NOT a negative in my book.
