  1. I screwed up! In my previous post, I compared the Citica Baitcaster to the Daiwa Exceler. Although I have the Citica, I meant to compare the Shimano Sienna to the Daiwa Exceler and I prefer the Daiwa. I have the Sienna also. It's about two years old and works fine, I just like the feel of the Daiwa. Just my opinion but you can't go wrong on either reel. SeniorBasser
  2. Tackle Warehouse for me as I like the free shipping on orders over $50.00. In addition, they are the most responsive of all the on-line stores I have tried, i.e., BassPro, Cabeles etc. SeniorBasser
  3. I just recently purchased two Daiwa Exceler reels from Tackle Warehouse for $59.00 each and free shipping. I received them in two days from the order date...unbelievable service! I love the reels. I have a Shimano Citica but I prefer the casting of the Daiwa. http://www.***.com/descpageRLSDAIWA-DES.html SeniorBasser
  4. I just purchased the Daiwa Exceler Spinning Reel from Tackle Warehouse for $59.99 and free shipping. I love it. I have several Shimano reels and this one casts better. http://www.***.com/descpageRLSDAIWA-DES.html Seniorbasser
  5. Jig Man has it right....Palomar on drop shot and San Diego Jam Knot on everything else. http://www.saltwatersportsman.com/article.jsp?ID=21012831 SeniorBasser
  6. I just bought 2 Daiwa Exceler spinning reels and love them. I got them at Tackle Warehouse for $59.00 each and free shipping. They were at my house 2 days after I ordered them http://www.***.com/descpageRLSDAIWA-DES.html SeniorBasser
  7. Anyone have any experience with Acadia Fishing Rods? They have a pretty good deal, buy one rod and get one free. Their prices are pretty good. The bait monkey got me to order a casting rod and I got the spinning rod for free. http://www.acadiasports.com/home.asp?ru=0&v=&f=h&ss=1440 SeniorBasser
  8. The last time out, this was my go to lure. The Shad color and a blue/siler were the best for me. SeniorBasser
  9. Here's a pretty good video on Walking the Dog with a Sammy. http://www.fishingworks.com/fishing-videos/Bass-Fishing-Videos/?ID=17 Also, here's an article on how to Walk a stick bait. http://www.fieldandstream.com/fieldstream/fishing/article/0,13199,1069239,00.html Hope this helps a bit. 11. I like 15 lb BPS Fluorocarbon with a Uni to Uni knot and a drop of super glue on the knot. Never has failed me yet. SeniorBasser
  12. Marty, I worked. Thanks again.
  13. Marty, got it. Thanks much for the information. I'm going to give it a try.
  14. This question was right on the mark. I got my instructions wet and can no longer read them. How do you zero the weights in memory? I've tried all combinations of pushing the Power-on button and the Choose or Hold buttons and the weights are still in memory. :'(
  15. San Diego Jam for everything except braid. For braid I use the double Uni knot.
  16. Hey Roadwarrier, I saw a Hank Parker fishing show yesterday where he was night fishing on Diamond Lake in Calif. Hank interviewed some guy from Calif. that only fishes for large bass. I think he said he has 45 over 15 Pounds! That's not bad for a Cali guy.... ;)
  17. The lake is 90 acres, not very large. I did catch 3 on the Pop-R that was green on top with a light yellow belly. I didn't think about the rooster tail, I'll try that next time. I didn't try a buzz bait, but I think I will try it next time also. Thanks guys for all your good suggestions. I'll try them out and let ya all know how they work out. :) Jer
  18. Raul, thanks for the reply. I guess I can try some of my Shad like lures on my next trip. I do have some lures that are the colors of trout and blue gill so I will try them also. I did try an orange and a silver yellow colored Rapala floating minnow and got no takers either one. Jer
  19. I took a bass fishing class and the guy that taught the class is a biologist as well as a fishing guide. He said this lake is one of the few in Arizona that does not have shad.
  20. I just fished a lake with no Shad here in Arizona. It has Largemouth, Sunfish and Channel Catfish. I caught 9 largemouth and one Sunfish. Four of the bass were caught on green and black 5 inch Senkos. One bass and the Sunfish were caught on a Rattle Trap with a blue back silver sides. One bass was caught on a black and green Beetle Spin. The last 3 bass were caught on a Popper with green back and yellow underside just before sunset. My question is, what other lures should I try on my next visit and in what colors? All my fishing to date has been on lakes with Shad so most of my lure colors and styles are to mimic Shad or Crawdads. On this lake, I'm strictkly guessing as to what lures and colors to use. By the way, the lake is not too deep, probably only 12 feet max with a lot of hydrilla or Milfoil about 3 feet below the surface out about 50 yards off shore. The water temperature was 73 degrees. 21. I ran across this neat fishing video I thought I would share with you all. If this doesn't get the blood flowing nothing will. Enjoy. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3710215113174228081&q=fishing

I haven't seen a post on the Chatter Frog. I was at Wally World today and picked up a couple. Has anyone out there used them yet? If so, how did they work? They look just like a Chatterbait except the trailer is a frog. I was talking to another guy while there and he said they really work good.
  23. Check out the video of the non-slip loop knot, also known as the Rapala loop knot. http://flyfisherman.com/skills/jb4knots/ Here's another site for the knot. http://www.pechetruite.com/Noeuds/knot3.htm
