I use #2 red octopus hooks for all my dropshotting. The best thing about them is you always hook em in the roof of the mouth. I have also used a thin wired worm hook but prefer the octopus style.

Forutnately and Unfortunately I couldn't make it. My buddies came in 6th. Few others swore to never put a boat in on that lake ever again. Great turnout though. I'll be at Patoka next year :

This is a long shot but you all would be the best bet to find the answer: I am trying to find the brand name of a creature bait I have that has (PL) on one of the curly tail legs. I have searched BPS and Gander Mountain but can't seem to locate the brand. Unfortunately, I don't remember either, or where I got it. Love the bait though and only have two left. anybody have a clue???? I'll try to take a pic and post it soon :-/

would a bad fuel pump possibly cause this? I always use the same fuel and use StaBil marine for the ethanol year round. would adding too much Stabil per gallon of fuel effect the performance?

Not while starting off. Once the motor dies I do have to prime the engine with the key held in for a bit to get the engine to stay idling. I'll give it a try. Gonna take her in anyway, she is due for her six month check up. It amazes me that we take our cars in for every strange sound etc. but some guys have never even taken their boat motor in for a tune up??????

Depends how far you want to go? But, St. Clair is about as good as it gets. If you want smaller waters, Cass Lake in Oakland county and Sylvan Lake have some nice smallies.

Need your help folks. Before I take my boat to the shop I figured I'd ask the question here to get some insight. Here's my issue: I have a 96 Johnson 150, never had issues before other than replacing a seal or two. Lately, after the engine has been run, turned off to fish and restarted, every once in awhile as I gun it to get out of the hole it will completely die. Not slow down or cough, just quits. When I go to restart it the motor will start right up but won't idle, it jsut stalls out. After a few minutes it runs fine. Any thoughts?????? :-/

Oakland county is full of great fishing lakes. Holly Recreational park has three great lakes all under 75 acres with shore access or small boats. Lake Orion has some TOADS in it as does Lakeville. I would grab a southwest Michigan lake map from any local sporting goods store. It should give you all the lakes you can handle with hotspots for each lake. Although, you really can't beat the fishing at St. Clair?? Are you fishing from shore?

Our home only has one mount and that was when my son caught his first fish on a Senko, a 6.2lb from our local lake. He was six. It is his prized possession.

Went out over the weekend and must have nailed a rock. Its a four blade prop and has a 2.5 in notch on one blade as well as the tips of two others. Anyone know the going rate for repairing or grinding stainless props? I don't think it is unrepairable but I know a dinged prop isn't good for the motor either. If the fishing wasn't as good as it was I would have been much more upset

O.K. Let me ask a question as I am granted this situation. You are blessed with $825.00 and are in market for a new fish finder. Do you A. get the new Lowrance HD5X for $625 after discount and rebate from BPS and have a couple extra bucks to blow on a good rod or tackle or B. Buy a Lowrance 510c (cause you already have a GPS) and have $500 for a few Rods Reels etc? I am curious to hear the responses and will gladly take any feedback as I am torn on what to do????? :-/

Uh Forgive me it was the ?? G something 40 ??? Gorgeous rod, blue guide wrapping. Sorry for not remembering, paid $70 at BPS. The rod advertised a $29 bag with the purchase but the offer expired a year ago when I unwrapped it from the plastic. When I returned it the rep said "as you can see we dont move these much' Like I said, maybe I was just turned off from the beginning, I ended up dropping a little extra coin and buying a carrot instead. I had heard a lot of good feedback about All Stars.

I recently purchased an All Star rod and promptly returned it after one use. I threw a double colorado blade spinnerbait and couldnt feel the blades vibrating. I took it back the next day. I've heard great things about the rods but they aren't for me. Maybe this is a downward trend???

Sounds very typical of dirty carbs on these motors. Around here the going dealer price to rebuild them is $450. Way2slow For anybody out there with a similar issue is there a better way to keep the carbs clean on these motors?

The Lowrance side imaging should be available around the end of June of this year. However, this will be an upgrade for their HD units. Which, I am sure will be quite expensive. You can't go wrong with Lowrance units but if its side imaging you are looking for go with the Hummingbird. They have been established for a while now and they have minimal issues.
