A.Do?

Where do you guys fish out of Occoquan? I went to the park and the only place i could really see was the boat launching area which had no fishing signs on them. Do you park and walk toward the bridge? I neeed to catch something. I'm in a crazy dry spell right now! !!!!!

very tempted to but since Jess is going to LA so I won't have anyone to drive me home and I'm thinking I'll be way too tired to make it home afterwards for work.

not sure what day yet. just gauging interest. looking at the calender, Friday would probably be best for me but i'd be able to do weekends too.

Why not? We get our water from the occoquan, i'd assume the fish in it'd be fine to eat. My friends have taken fish home from the potomac but that's too ballsy for me. I also see quite a few people taking catfish from Burke.

Hrmm.. an hour 10 minutes from me. I was hoping to stay more local but very tempting. Depending on the weather, I should be in. I might drive seperately though, just in case i have to leave early.

i'm kinda interested. Where's this Lake Thompson located?

yeah, thats why i'm thinking of trying for smallies. I found a lake by my office, Lake Cook, that has trout. I might get myself a trout stamp and try that out. maybe accotink creek too. I need my FIX!

How do you guys think the fishing will be at Bull run? I'm thinkin of giving 28 a shot on saturday

=/ I stayed for a bit then went to another location with Rob but I ended up being skunked. It was cold, I got skunked but I feel like it was worth it! It was good to meet more board members. Thanks to Rob for teaching me a lot of things and everything else ;D Good to hear you didn't get skunked on the day Ron!!! Although it was short, it was nice meeting you Paul!

no, but I have been on lake manassas. I wasn't aware that it was off limits when i went with my buddies. We launch from his back yard on a jon boat and rowed into the lake. It wasn't till later that day when i did a search on that lake did i find out that its closed to the public and even land owners!! my friends have fished that lake all their life and had no idea either. There were no signs posted. That is an amazing lake...I wish they'd open it back up. The lake is around there though!

i need to fish with you....

Thanks guys! Of course there have been a good number of other fish caught but those were just the highlights. The 7lb'er came from a lake that is closed to the public. The park authority was nice enough to let my friends and I fish on there but I guess too many people started showing up so now it's off limits till the park reopens. The fish was caught off a watermelon with black flakes Senko, fished weightless. My buddy had to jump into the water to lip her cuz i had no idea how i was going to land her. This was about 2 months after i started fishing! This was at the end of June. Thanks for the positive remarks! Hopefully next year will be even better.

I was bored and thought since the season is kinda coming to an end :'( i'd share some of the highlights of my first year of bass fishing! Many first for me and I'd like to thank everyone who's been there to teach me this wonderful sport! Below is a link to the pictures. All fish were caught in Northern Virginia. Well went out today and wanted to get out on the raft. With my luck, no surprise there was a leak in the fill nipple thingie majigger so that only 3/4 tubes would stay fully inflated. we put the raft back in the car and did some shore fishing. another rough day for me. Maybe i'm fishing the wrong spots but nothing was hitting all day for me or my three friends. The only fish of the day was this 1lb 14 oz'er with a black spot off a rat'l trap. Any tips on location and lures? Maybe they know about the rat'l traps now. Haha.

Did you go to Mercer?!?!? Man! i was looking for someone to go with me. I needed help with the raft and so when no one could make it i decided to not go. Anyone free this weekend? I really want to get out there and catch something.

that beginner across the lake was me! The wind was messing with my contacts and couldn't make out a goatee or if you were ever facing my way so i could have waved. As for the fishing. Lots of fishing, lots of lures lost on the same stump, but no catching or biting going on here. I threw alot of stuff but got nothing from it. Senkos, Swim Senkos, tubes on rattle jig head, rat'l traps, and jig. I got frustrated and left a little after I saw you leave. The knot i tied to add new line to my rod kept getting caught when I was casting so that was irking me all morning. Only good thing was the beautiful weather. I'm going to go back out there on sunday, hopefully with a raft, and try and have a better outing the second time around. I believe its simon and I right now, i know jason wanted to go. Andy and Jason! you guys coming?! Maybe simon will let you borrow a kayak so it'll be 2 kayaks and a raft. If the fishing goes sour we can try and sink each other. JK
