A.Do?

How far down the Rappahannock do you think the shad are right now? I have access to part of the river from a friends property but not sure what to expect from it. It's south of fredricksburg. It looks like so much fun, I'd hate to miss it.

the snakes i saw there were harmless (atleast i'm pretty sure they are) they're black with two parallel yellow stripes down the back and a yellow belly (common ribbonsnake). I had a few around my feet while i was there the other week. My dogs have killed a few too and brought them to my door. Sorry to hear about the fishing. Seems like i'm not the only one struggling this year.

Ron, I'm actually going out with my uncle tommorow to fish the Potomac, we'll be launchin out of Leesylvania too but won't be there till later. He wants to fish but i dont think we'll be doin much as the boat is a new toy and lots of gagdets to play with. What time are you planning on headin out there? Got room? If possible i might try and go out with you guys but i'd have to be back at the launch at 2pm to meet up with my uncle. Sorry didn't mean to hijack the thread! Good luck tonight guys! Yeah, i've heard of people catchin them out of Holmes Run. Accotink is crazy though. I see anglers shoulder to shouldder at the dam when it's stocked.

Trev, where do you fish for trout in NoVA? I know they're stocked in accotink but other than that i'm clueless.

i've been tryin to get this one koi at a pond near my house to bite but he just laughs at me > I'm going to bring some koi food i have at home and see if i can get some action on my ultralight.

just park on the gravel lot off the shoulder of Hooes Rd and walk through the gate. The Dam is but a short walk away.

wa wa wee wa! NICE CATCH! My friend did the same thing when I got my PB. not quite sure how to land a fish that big other than to jump in after it when you're on shore! Jay has a ways to go to catch up to you

WHOA! i just looked at that pic in your avatar and was like no way fish like that are in VA but then i went to the dgif site and saw fish just as big in their picture section! How far is this briery creek lake from DC?

do the jon's come with a motor? If not i have a weak trolling motor and battery and a fish finder! If you decide to go during the weekend i'm in for sure.

We had fun even though we looked dumb out there. we ended up just putting the kayaks away and fishing the dam. On our way back to the car the bite started to turn on. Pity we had to leave (I'm whipped) cuz we I feel like we found the fish. Simon landed one close to 3 pounds, one that looked a like it was a pound to a pound and half, and a dink. I caught a dink. This was all in the last 20 minutes or so. I lost my Megabass crank for a bit (got it stuck on the drain thingie) and Simon lost his luckycraft so we were pretty bitter. I was able to rescue my crank by snaggin it with a jig, and that's when we started catchin fish! I'll probably try and fish some more this weekend.

I'm off that Friday as well, actually i'm off almost every friday, but made plans to go down to richmond to try and caatch me some shad with Simon. If plans fall through, and you don't mind, I'm in for fishing at Lake Anna or any other place for that matter. Hope it's not windy or we'll get rocked in the jon boat.
