Opinions on Daiwa Low Pro Baitcasters
I didn't vote because I haven't used both reels so I can't make a fair comparison. I can tell you I love my Zillion, and it can throw weightless senko's with no problem. It's not a cheap reel but it is definitely a quality set-up

deadliest catch
I love this show. My cousin used to fly up to Alaska for 4 months each year and do that for a living. He quit and got a "regular" job after he got married. The scary thing is that a couple years after he quit the boat he used to work on sank and some of the crew died. Crazy good pay, if you survive

fishfinders on cartoppers
I just screwed the transducer onto a 2 by 4, and clamped the 2 by 4 to the outside of the boat. I could clamp it on when I got to the lake, and throw it in a box when i left. Worked great for me till i upgraded to a better boat

watermelon/black senko
i've found watermelon and black flake to produce best for me up here in new hampshire. I've had numerous days when i was fishing that color and my my co-angler was fishing a similiar color maybe watermelon w/ red, or green pumpkin w/ black. Most days the watermelon w/ black flake outfished the others. some days a different color is what they want, and you have to adjust. Most of the time watermelon w/ the black is a great place to start

Whats On My Pole??????
What's on your pole huh? I'm not sure as anglers that we are qualified to answer that. Maybe you should give the doctor a call and have that checked out ;D

lucky craft pointer vs rapala x rap
i'm cheap, but with all of the comments about the pointer i'm considering getting one to try it out. My question is if you only had one color to choose that would cover the most situations which one would it be? If it helps any I'm up in NH so my forage is goint to be different then the lakes full of shad down south

THE FLAMICH CUP! ON THE WORLDS GREATEST FISHING SHOW!!!
what channel is this show on?

What's the most you would spend on a lure?
I keep it as cheap as I can. However I will spend some extra cash on the real senko's sometimes. Most of the time i just stick with ***. The less money i spend, the less extra work I have to do, and the more fishing i can get in.

has anyone added their own side or center steer console?
I didn't do it myself but they guy i bought this boat from had added an aftermarket console and ran controls to the motor. Not a great pic but the best i have right now. Basically just bolted it into the deck and hooked up the throttle and steering controls. Doesn't look like it was much work at all. It runs great for me and it's alot more fun to drive then a tiller. Remember though that you are giving up some of your floor space on a jon boat for this when a tiller will still get you where you need to go

bull #@%& fishing ticket
I know that this won't hold up in court, because the law is the law. But doesn't it seem unfair when they place so many different regulations on so many different bodies of water that it becomes hard to even know what the law is? It seems to me that sometimes people should be given the benifit of the doubt. If i was the warden I would have informed you of the rule, and if i saw you there again doing that I would then have given you a ticket. It just seems like there should be a difference between making a mistake and willfully violating the law. For example Up here in NH some lakes are electric only, and in the little rule book it says electric only next to each lake that is. But what most people don't know is that there is a link at the bottom of all the lakes with regulations that you need to check to find out what electric only means. Because it means different things on different lakes. Sometimes it means only electric motors on the water you can't even have your gas engine up and out of the lake, and sometimes it doesn't. Oh and sometimes the rules aren't clear. Not even the wardens know how to interpret them sometimes (i know i asked). To top it all off sometimes the same lake in the book has a different name on the link that you have to referance, and possibly a different name in the atlas that you are using to find lakes. So you may find a lake in an atlas, check in your little book and see no regulations, and check online, and not even know that the lake has another name that makes it a fly fishing pond. how's that for a fun time : Sorry for the rant, but all the rules drive me crazy. It seems that all most people want to do is fish, and giving them tickets for mistakes is not the point of the laws. If i was a ranger I'd be more concerned with the kids partying on the bank and leaving trash everywhere, then the guy who used the wrong lure by accident

He's got his priorities straight
Thanks for all of the replies everyone. I am always thankful for the time i spent with my father outdoors and am so happy to have a son that i will be able to raise the same way. There is nothing that I value more then time with him. This is my first so I'm learning alot as I go. At what age should I start teaching him to fish? I know right now he's to young. I figure he'll have to be about 2 years old before I can start trainging him to be the next KVD ;D

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
With this warm weather i'm going to out fishing mid day on thursday. If anyone is anywhere around Concord and wants to meet up for some early season shore fishing send me a message.

He's got his priorities straight
I turned my back for a second and this is what happened. My little guy is only 9 months old and already all about the fishing. I can't wait till he's old enough to spend the day out on the lake. I've also had to move my rod racks because he thinks there is nothing more exciting then trying to yank the rods off the wall.

float tubes
i've been float tubing for a few years. It's great for small hidden ponds and areas that other people can't get to. It's real nice to be able to cast and use your fins to get around at the same time. If your area is windy at all make sure to have some sort of anchor. It makes staying put alot easier when you find that sweet spot on the lake. If your marsh isn't to big it should work great. Also as mentioned any pair of scuba fins work fine, no need to spend big bucks on special ones for float tubes

Who here fishes from the bank?
i fish from the shore to but usually at night during the summer. There are a couple of small ponds near me w/ rip rap by the loading ramps. When I get out of work I sometimes head over there and fish for about an hour before heading home. With buzzbaits and a colorodo spinner i'll always catch 3 or 4 decent bass and it's a nice way to relax after work (sometimes I don't get out till midnight so I'm usually fishing at about 1 am)
