  1. I just made one almost exactly like this last week. I need to get a larger pipe for it to make it taller. Here is my first test vid using the new set-up I actually find it helpful to watch the vids of when I miss a fish or lose it and see what I'm doing wrong. (like not paying attention for instance ;D)
  2. I hear ya. It's my absolute favorite spinnerbait color, which is a shame since virtually no one makes a nice solid purple spinnerbait. man I've never even seen a purples spinnerbait. Is there a reason you choose this color like water clarity or something? It seems like something interesting to try if I can find them around here.
  3. Thanks Kevin. Yeah I really like the setup. I just have to get it refined a little bit. Went out today on the Piscatequog for 2 hours. I caught 3 dinks while my Dad picked up 3 nice bass. largest was 2lbs 8oz. the others were just around 2 lbs. all on senkos. Also all in really skinny water. I'm talking like 6 inches in the very backs of coves. I also spent 10 minutes pitching to a large fish before realizing it was just a carp ;D Fishing on the edge...you should also check out heads pond. It's near you in pembroke. you have to hike to it to get in but it's got good shore fishing off of a big rock and some other places
  4. Added an extended deck to my boat this weekend (I'll put up pics of that later). I also built a camera mount for my Flip Camera. Got out today for a couple of hours to test the deck and the camera out. I made a little vid testing it out. Figures I got into the bite right after my camera died ;D Water was 60, and the Smallies were up on beds. Drop shot seemed to be the key, I was fishing a finesse worm with only a 6 inch leader above the weight. Ended up with 20 fish on the day in 4 hours. First time I've really been sucessful with a drop shot.
  5. I was using a drop shot today to bed fish for smallies in 5-7 feet of water. I'd just cast it into the bed and shake it until it got bit. I've only just using the drop shot on a consistently this year....but I really like it
  6. Why not do one in July and August? I mean it's just meeting up for fishing. Worst case only a couple people can make it and you just fish with less people? When do we want to schedule one for July?
  7. Nice! congrats
  8. Welcome to the forum fishingontheedge! I used to shore fish turee pond at night right from the ramp in the summer. I'd stop there at 11:30pm or son on the way home from work. I could usually catch a couple of bass on spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, or a paddletail swimbait and then just head home. Hope this helps
  9. Thanks for putting this together Jay. I had a really great time. We should try and do this again sometime next month. Matt and I did pretty well today. 7 bass, 2 crappie, 1 perch, and a bunch of pickeral. The largest bass was 2lbs 15oz. and the smallest was smaller then a 4 inch senko. Here are a few of the pics I took
  10. My strangest one was on a black buzzbait. I caught a 7bler (my record) on it one night. I went back to the same spot next time and caught a bass on it that was the size of my pinky the next night. Just goes to show you that you never know what you are going to catch.
  11. Hey Guys, I was talking to Jay the other day and he said that someone had posted up a homemade map of Powdermill Pond awhile ago in one of the NH forums. I did a search and couldn't find it. If anyone still has a link to that map and could post it again that would be awesome.
  12. Wow what a great weekend I had (Thursday and Friday is my weekend because of my work schedule). I caught 23 bass on thursday in a little over 3 hours of fishing. Then the wind got to bad and i left. Got out today with Jay at his secret spot. We caught 47 bass!! from 8:30-2:30pm. Nothing was gigantic, but plenty of 2+ pounders in the last 2 days. Here are a few pics: One of me One of Jay And one of our many double ups....they aren't big but I thought it was a cool pic.
  13. I finally bought a spool of this after all of the reccomendations on here. I tried it on my spinning reels, and man I hate this stuff. It's way to springy for me. Looks like I'm heading back to old fashioned mono
  14. Hey Nashua.... The piscatequog is having water level problems again. I wouldn't rec fishing there right now. I've been to Glen lake once, and really had a tough time of it. It seemed like a bowl of sand, with no good structure that I could find. I could of had a bad day, but I just couldn't figure that place out. The problem with Powdermill isn't the chop, it's the fact that the lake is way down a channel, but with at 2.2 you'd get down it eventually, it would just take longer then my 25hp, or Jay's 90 of course. Jay...I'm fine with hopkinton. I'm going to try and check it out myself. I think i stopped there once a couple of years ago, and they had the ramp closed for some reason, but i saw people on it this weekend, I think, when I was driving by there. I'm assuming it's fine to fish now.
  15. Jay where is hopkinton lake? I can't seem to find it on the fish and game website or on google maps. Does it have a different name?
  16. Nice Job guys on those fish. I got out today and could not buy a bite. I caught 4 pickeral and 1 perch, and never even saw a bass. I could not figure it out today, I fished ever type of structure possible and basically threw the tacklebox at them. If the weather hadn't been so nice I might actually be upset.
  17. I'm heading out tomorrow, not sure where yet. I'm really hoping to start finding them up shallow. LIke to get into a nice shallow jig or maybe even spinnerbait bite. NH_Bass_Tard. I sent you a message as well.
  18. I use www.fishswami.com It's a free online log. I really like it. I keep everything online here and can search my old logs, and patterns. I also print the logs and keep them in a file in case the site ever goes away or something
  19. Hey Mattj, Thanks for the reply. I'll go by and check it out at some point soon. Welcome to the forum, and welcome to NH. I'm over in Peterborough, pretty close to you. If you ever want to get out for the day let me know. On that note, I think I'm heading out tomorrow if anyone is looking for a ride, i've got an open backseat on the boat I think. Peace
  20. Has anyone fished Skatutakee lake over in Harrisville? And does it have a public launch? The fish and game website says no, but Clark's says yes. I've heard good things about this lake and want to check it out. Thanks
  21. Got out today for a few hours. Tried Silver lake over and Harrisville Lake. Man was it windy. I was blown all over the place. I only managed 2 bass and 1 pickeral. Not a very productive day but better then being at work
  22. i always have a pocket knife on me when I fish. Except when I fish from shore at night, then I carry a fixed blade on my belt. It makes me feel a little more comfortable to have something bigger and more obvious when I'm out on my own. To this day, I believe that having this knife visible and very obvious got me out of a potentially dangerous situtiation when fishing of a public launch at night.
  23. i think i use the sensor excel. i can't tell any difference between this and the other Gillete razors and the cartridges are waaaay cheaper. You can even find generic blades as some stores bringing the price down even farther
