  1. If the primary forage in the body of water has moved shallow, bass will move shallow

  4. I would focus on deep structure breaks, and always have a rod sitting beside you with a topwater chugger or popper. If you see minnows busting anywhere, shallow, deep, it does not matter, cast the topwater in there.. you may only have a few seconds before the aggressive fish go back deep, so don't dodle
  5. I have caught catfish on crankbaits, grubs, jigs, spinnerbaits, shakey rigged finesse worms..
  6. crappie - live minnows, bluegill - crickets.... if you had to pick an artificial, I would suggest some type of small jig, or beetle spin type bait
  7. 5 lb. 6 oz, smallmouth, the 8 lb LM or 15 lb drum or 15 lb catfish don't count...
  8. plain ole white bread mashed on a hook...

  14. In the spring and early summer I am usually on the water 30 minutes to an hour before sunrise.. In the summer if it is an allday trip, the same 30 mins or and hour before SU, but In the summer I have better luck mid afternoon to dark, so usually not until 2:00 or so.. Fall, back in the pattern of early..

  16. I use red hooks nearly 100% of the time, when I am texas rigging or C-rigging plastics, and also have changed out a majority of my crankbaits to red hooks and am catching fish. Also, why have Manns Jellyworm colored Strawberry been so successful or the plastic lures of today is "Red Shad" ??
  17. Hey EL, I fish Pickwick from dam to dam, but all those fish came near the Colbert Steam Plant, near Cane Creek. off the main channel.
  18. Tough day on the water yesterday.. high sun, high wind.. but still managed a few bites.. a couple on the 1.5 to 2.25 lb class and a 3.5 .. all came in the afternoon, I am guessing that TVA started to pull current...
  19. Just to let you know, there is no cure for "Smallie Fever"!
  20. Strike King Midnight Special/Premier... Black/Blue or Black/Red... has a rattle... very good spinnerbait for nightfishing smallies!
