  1. Welcome! This site ROCKS!
  2. Welcome! In addition to a Texas Rig, you can also try a Zoom Fluke.. Get a white based color to mimic a shad. Fish it weightless, rig it so the hook is "tex-posed". You can fish this in the grass, along the edges of the grass and along the concrete walls.. Make sure and fish it slow, and let the fish take the bait to ensure a better chance of a solid hookset. GOOD LUCK
  3. Nice fish, tourney anglers are jealous
  4. I'll take that bonus anyday!
  5. I don't know any smallmouth fisherman that would not be proud of that fish. GREAT JOB!
  6. I would love to hook that fish! NICE ONE!!!
  7. There are several ways to rig both. I have fished both ikas and tubes and have never rigged them backwards. The most popular would be on a jighead, texas rig or with them tube an inserted weighted hook. Hope this helps
  8. I use a Loomis BCR803 glx, to fish grubs. After fishing several loomis rods both spincast and baitcast, I settled on this rod because of the "extra fast" tip rating. I can feel a leaf on my hook. I fish 1/4 oz. gama. jig heads with 4" grubs. Personally, If I was deadset on a spincast and going to exclusively fish grubs, I would try out one of the Loomis Shakey Head rods. They have the "extra fast" tip and plenty of backbone. Hope this helps. ps-if you have a choice, buy the "GLX", it is worth it
  9. Which lake is better for smallmouth fishing, Kentucky Lake or Pickwick Lake? I know you can catch some good smallies on Pickwick. I am starting to hear really good things about Kentucky Lake, but I am wondering how it compares to Pickwick. Which lake produces more, big fish? or more good smallies? Thanks
