  1. MY why depends on the what... the what structure am i fishing. Taking two places that i fish and looking at them, they are drastically different. One is full of aggresive rarely fished bass and is covered by pads. A Trig is what i throw 75 percent of the time, spinnerbait over some submerged vegetation. The second place being a larger reservoir with rock as most of the cover. There i throw cranks past, through, and around piles. Backup is usually a fluke or senko.
  2. ok, ill do some searching.
  3. ;D but really a one year old fish wont weigh 5 pounds.
  4. I realize it will vary from lake to lake and region to region. But what is the average rate a LMB grows. For example how many years would it take to reach x pounds or inches? Anyone?
  5. As suggested maybe you just need to try some new line. Something else you may want to look at is the speed ratio of your current reel. Depending on your fishing method that could be causing problems too, you may possibly need a faster reel to keep up with that slack.
  6. pink senkos are great SM lures, i rap a little bit of copper wire around the hook so it sinks faster and has more wobble.
  7. you will need to peg them, even with that they dont float much. unpegged they will float up in the middle of your leader on a carolina rig.... still leaving your worm and hook on the bottom.
  8. No I dont use them, I would rather have one less thing to worry about failing. I tye a knot pretty quick, whats the extra minute or so worth?
  9. yup, you can use a worm blower too. Or theres always the foam earplugs, cut them smaller or use a whole one just need to run something threw it to make a hole for the line.
  10. Very true, limits should be set to conserve resources.
  11. try a frog or toad style lure.
  12. Well, there's your problem!! ;D j/k, welcome aboard. really? man we may have an epidemic on our hands... no more country music while fishing. ;D Dont forget, if you are watching those fishing shows that what they dont tell you is that is a few days worth of fishing cut into a half hour show.
  13. OK guys i dont really like the idea of it either. But let me ask and propose this point of view. How many of us hunt? There are people out there on the other side of that sport too. They ask the question how can we shoot a game animal when it is so unnecessary and the animals are so sightly. Some people find more of a sport to taking pictures of animals versus hunting them. So in perspectice I personally cant see gettin to bent out of shape over this. I for one enjoy going hunting, to these spearman that is their sport. Much the same way the a photographer would much rather take a picture than hunt the animal, us bass fisherman would rather catch the fish than kill it. Make sense?
  14. chances are they are probably out screwing around. I would just really slow down your presentation. Smaller baits or even live bait may help.
  15. MY favorite is an almost undeveloped lake in central NH, plenty of LM SM and everything else. With every type of structure every couple hundred yards. Surrounded by the mountains I rarely see anyone else on it even in the height of summer in a weeks time.
