  1. can you post a picture??
  2. Theres only one way to find out, bass are offertunistic. Depending on what you offer them. Honestly i would try and match my lures to the color similar to the crayfish.
  3. No unfortunately i am from Maryland.
  4. I usually use a perch or silver/black one. The size i use has 2 trebles and is about 3 inches long.
  5. Just paint the fiberglass white. You should be able to get a white fiberglass paint at some kind of boating supply store. Then if your worried about slipping, you can find non slip sticker type things at a hardware store. or even the kind for a home bathtub.

I want to try making some lures, inline spinners mostly. Where can i get wire from that would work? Is it something a craft shop or hobby store would sell?
  7. The speed at which you pick it up, and how much is going to vary. usually i pick it up from about 4 oclock to about 1 oclock taking a couple seconds to do that.
  8. I use it along ledges, Submerged trees, Rock piles, or if fish are suspended under baitfish.
  9. You have to be careful sinking logs, especially on a lake that isnt private property. There is always the potential that your anchoring could come loose. As far as how fast will fish use it, that will depend on a few things. The obvious that if fish are staging in 10ft of water the log at 20ft is going to be ignored. Smaller fish, insects, amphibians etc may be attracted to it in hours or days. From there the cycle grows.
  10. Well i guess it would help to know what kind of fish your talking about. For example what ive done with panfish... bluegill, crappie etc. I wouldnt do with catfish. IF its pan fish you can scale them and then filet them with a sharp and thin knife, that keeps you from having to "clean" them. For the Catfish you can do the same, but you have to peel the skin off. Usually catfish i clean them up the middle, cut off the head and tail, then with pliers peal the skin.
  11. Making yourself available and offering, being courteous and polite... sounds like your doing fine.
  12. easiest thing to do is throw them into a cooler of ice, or if you are walking around a shore take a stringer... theres a colapsable basket ive seen people use too. Your second question, are you asking how to clean the fish?
  13. here are two fish i caught on my lightweight and 4pd mono over the weekend. one on a floating stick and the other a 3 inch green senko. hardest part was setting the hook on the senkos with no back bone haha. Definately fun to catch the little guys on.
  14. My rig is fairly simple, if you know how to tie a palomar knot. Tie it so the tag end is as long as you want the weight to be under the bait. I usually do 12-14 inches. Tie on your hook of choice, with the palomar. then the tag end tie on your weight, any kind of barrel or spit shot will work. Split shots are nice in rocks because if the get hung up you can pull on your line and usually they slip off. Lastly finish it off with your choice of soft plastic, i usually use a fluke.
  15. Deep creek lake in Western Maryland is full of them, anything from 10-26 inches. Theres plenty of hotel, motels and campgrounds around.
  16. Holy crappIE, thats a nice fish!
  17. Second thought just occured to me. WHat if you were to use them with a senko trig it, maybe glue the tip. But tie to the hump in the hook? Might fall with a more perpendicular presentation to cover, but not be as snaggy as a wacky rig.
  18. I remember using them with slugos years ago. They dont work too well in heavy cover, the worm tends to get pulled of the dart.

attack the edges of that grass with anything you feel like, both edges that is. Remember that the top of the grass and where the drop/grass is are both areas to fish. Run something like a crank or spinner over the top of the grass and see if you can get a reaction. same thing with the drop, but you can add a jig to your arsenal. AS with anytime fishing grass a t rig should be a good idea.
  20. It looks like it would work to me... try it, there are no rules to fishing.
  21. I love them too, i fish them on a football head around rocks at the reservoir.
  22. Once you find some cover you can fish it one of a few ways, depending on the depth. For example if they are in deep water suspended you could do some drop shot rigs or try ratltraps. If they are holding on the ledges you could use some jigs or again ratltraps.
  23. It depends, are the fish following that school of baitfish or are they staying put in the grass/structure? Knowing that will help you stay on the fish. Then definately try a wacky senko, and possibly a rattle trap with a pump an fall retrieve or your usualy crankbaits.
  24. Not a bad looking bait, ive been using the yamamoto swim and having success
