  1. NICE!! thats even a cool trick with the swivel
  2. I can see this is going to get like senkos.... everyone asks questions daily. Yes you can use a drop shot over grass, use it whenever you want. Having the confidence to fish something is part of fishing. The setup is usually on a spinning rod so you can let it free fall with the bait open. Thin mono, floro, or a floro leader line is all an option. If you know how to tie a palomar knot, (easy), your ahead. Personally I tie a palomar knot with the loose end as long as I want the drop to be. Then I use an 1/8 oz split shot, split shot so that if it gets hung up I can usually put tension on the line and slip the weight off. From their the worm is upto you, Ive used too many to list.
  3. yupp... yellow bellied jitterbug. I tried making a pike lure one time... took a big 4"popper and glued some yellow rabbit fur to the bottom.... Use your imagination on how long that lasted, dont think to long. ;D
  4. Maybe they were eyeing up a duckling for lunch.
  5. Yes, Post spawn fish move offshore. Without electronics you can try and read the shore line. But cranks around some rocky drops. Your just going to have to do a little searching to find what structure they are one now since you cant see it VS being able to see the shore line structure you were fishing a few months ago.
  6. OK looks like i just need to spend a few hours in the back yard practicing.
  7. Heres the story. I just started fishing a new pond and it has the small 3 inch pads which are a dense mat in some areas. I am having trouble trying to flip a 3/8 oz worm or jig on my BC. I am pressing the thumb lever down and flipping it out.... Now my problem is if I leave the real set for casting I dont get much distance OR it nests, If i loosen the real up I almost always get a nest... Can anyone give me some pointers?
  8. They both look interesting.
  9. Yes they are flukes. You can fish it like a jerbait too, they will dart around threw the water. Try putting a split shot ahead of the bait or even clamping it onto the hook. Both will make it work a little different. Stand up jig heads work too. I prefer a heavy head so when I pick it up and drop it They really slam into the bottom and stir up some dirt.
  10. LOVE them, hot glue or some kind of silicone based glue works well

Hmm like using a jig that has a floating worm on a leader behind it.
  12. Well since after 30 views and no one else has said anything... Looks like you got the catch.
  13. Congrats!!! I TRY to catch one once in a while, just hasnt worked in my favor yet.
  14. check the senko thread... this is a ford vs chevy debate kinda thing.
  15. Maybe you could drill your hole, for the mouth, into the block of wood before you lathe it down?
  16. Depending on what your farm ponds are like. You will probably need to find some sort of cover in deeper water, say 4-5 feet atleast. I dont know how deep your ponds are, basically the fish pull out of the shallows and rest/feed.
  17. Its just a rule of thumb.
  18. Try pegging the weight up agains the bait. Other than that, you can only catch the fish if they are there. Maybe your in the wrong spot.
  19. Mine would be somewhere out on a Northern lake, New england or Canada. With me being the only one on the lake, 70 degree weather with fall crisp in the air, fog coming off the water.
  20. That'll work. Occasionally On silty or sandy flats I will put it on a Shakey or standup jig head and pick it up and drop it. Just enough to get it off the bottom a few inches and land back on the bottom like a shad picking bugs outa the bottom.
  21. To simply answer your question... ANY way you want in any area of the water column.
  22. Use another anchor off the front of your boat to keep yourself in position.
  23. < i caught that smallie on a 5inch white senko rigged wacky. But it was on a bank that is 0 to ten feet in a couple steps. Plenty of boulders to make caves ledges and all that, its kind of a unique place.
  24. I would feed them a little bit of tropical fish food every other day or so. Changing a couple gallons of the water wouldnt hurt.
  25. Haha, knowing what it is, i almost spit coffee across my desk. thanks for the laugh.
